Happy Home Paradise I think is my favorite part of the update. I’m so glad they didn’t make it a separate game this time- so you can bring furniture and other perks back to your home island! I’ve been a loyal Animal Crossing fan for like … 15 years or something like that. With each new title, of course after a while I would take extended breaks from them but I never put them away all together until the new game came out. So with ACNH I was taking a break for a couple months, I would have come back for sure, as is my pattern. But now my hiatus is over. Getting ready for 2.0 is breathing new life into New Horizons and I CANNOT WAIT!

I haven't really stopped playing, but now I'm excited about spending a couple hours a day on it instead 30 minutes to an hour. I'm super excited about the new/returning items, especially the gyroids.

Honestly my favorite thing in the direct was seeing the overwhelming amount of new items. I was so bored of the items in NH. It felt like everyone's island consisted of the same handful of items mixed with a ton of simple panels and custom designs to replicate a bunch of the items that we don't have. I remember scouring the New Leaf item catalog when I was bored and I found about 100 items that I really, really wanted in New Horizons. I never thought we would actually get them though after being drip fed nothing but holiday items and season items for almost two years. But legit like ..at least half of the items on my list of most wanted furniture from New Leaf have already been seen in the Direct and screenshots released afterwards by Nintendo. On top of that, so many other amazing items like the carnival set, the construction vehicles, the cave, all the beautiful ceiling furniture and food items... I'm so excited to start collecting these and using them to massively boost the designs on my island and use them to design vacation homes. Some of them have even inspired me to potentially make some huge changes to my island, which is something I had convinced myself I would never do again at this point because I was happy enough with my island and it didn't feel worth the effort anymore. I only wish we could have even more full islands because at this point, I want to try so many different island themes. Only other thing missing IMO is minigames or more multiplayer focus. That was the thing I wanted most next to more islands and more items. Just want something to do with my friends.

Yes, this item update is beyond huge. And I'm sure we've only scratched the surface with new items. It's going to bring so much to the game, I can't even believe it. And I also wish there was a minigame update as well.

@@ChuyPlays Definitely should be more items we haven't seen! I know in one of the Japanese website screenshots, I seen what I'm pretty sure is the skeleton from the Creepy set. If we got the skeleton then hopefully that means we also get the rest of the Creepy set, including the coffin. That was a set I really wanted for more diverse Halloween decoration since all the Halloween themed items in NH are pumpkin themed.

It's going to be wonderful! To think Brewster alone got us pumped for this announcement. They really went above and beyond to almost overshadow him, but he'll be a welcome addition to our islands.

New Horizons is going to have to address gyroid storage because I'm not sure how many types they plan to have. I'm guessing it will either be: *Brewster storage *Museum storage *Special storage unit that each player receives

@@suebob16 Judging from the fact that Brewster has a separate room with gyroids, most likely means he will provide a special gyroid storage for you like previous games.

I mean, I would really hope so at least ^_^; Afteralll, Celeste isn't getting a little shop in harv's plaza or anything, so there's hope.

I’m excited about cooking and farming For me as a long time AC franchise fan that’s a dream come true A mechanic I’ve wanted for ages! If you grow the pumpkins in a decent amount and harvest them they can really add up in value if you sell them I imagine the same if you mass sold a bunch of crops But there’s also gonna be cooking too! I feel like at least certain dishes would be worth more than the raw ingredients counterparts so that could also be a new way of raking in the bells lol

It def brought me back. I was waiting for NH to feel more like NL CF or even WW. Without these special characters, gyroids, more furniture, animal visits, Kappn (specifically) it never felt like AC to me. I know for tons of people it did and that's lovely! It's just for me, the crafting/island customizing angle didn't hit that AC itch. Even though I eventually came around mostly on crafting it still felt hollow. But now hoo boy I'm all in! I have over 150 hours in HHD and being able to play that in NH now???? YES PLEASE! :D

I actually came back to the game before the Nintendo direct announced Brewster, I only stopped playing cuz I got overwhelmed wanting to redecorate and reterraform my island that I stopped playing for a few months. But I came back cuz I was like “whatever, I took pictures for reference, it’s fine” so the game never felt stale to me personally but this direct sparked even more excitement for me and I’m already wanting to reterraform and redecorate my island again lol. The direct came around at a great time cuz I started hyperfixating on ac again before the big announcements.

this is def bringing me back to the game. with 2.0 in my eyes, the game is actually complete. otherwise they released an incomplete game. which may or may not have been intentional seeing the perfect circumstances... everyone being at home and wanting to connect to eachother, and it just happened to be necessary for people to use online to go to other islands to get recolors. now recolors are unlocked with the update? seems too perfect business wise tbh

As a longtime animal crossing player I always was so grateful for the base game, and how incredible it truly is! When people said things like kappn and cooking, I passed it off as never happening 😂 my hopes were low for my favorite game, so when I saw them truly happen I was SHOCKED! Since then I haven’t stopped watching direct videos, and am the most excited as I ever have been for this game!

I’m so hyped for everything, it was one shock after another in the best way! The cherry on top is the DLC being included in the NSO expansion. I wanted the new virtual consoles because I grew up on the Sega Geniuses and N64 but I couldn’t really justify it, now it’s basically just $5 more so I can get my nostalgia and the DLC.

I came back after 1 year and 3 months. 😬 I even took pictures of some of the welcome backs I received and was very happy to see villagers stayed put instead of randomly leaving. That made it that much harder for me to return in past games. Shout out to my first Islanders Cherry and Sheldon! You rock!! 😭 But I have never stopped lurking Instagram island aesthetic accounts, Pinterest for designs, your channel, Mayor Mori's and a few others. And when I saw that the Direct was out I watched it here. While I loved what I was seeing I was very hesitant to come back because of my long hiatus, but I finally found the courage I needed to return by looking on Animal Crossing Reddit threads and seeing that I was FAR from alone and have been playing since the Direct. A lot of features and characters (still very much missing Pete, Pelly, and Phyllis 😭) that made me pine for older titles are returning (BREWSTER!!! 😆) and I couldn't be happier. It just felt really empty and lonely without a lot of these things and I felt sad logging in after a while. So really happy for these much needed changes and new features as well! 🙌 This will also be my first foray into Happy Home Designer as well so I'm VERY excited for that. Also being given the opportunity to redecorate our villager's homes!? 😱 I've been wanting this since the very first Animal Crossing game 20 years ago! Finally!!! 😭

I’m so excited for the update (and to experience the winter events for the first time lol). I think I’m most excited for Harvs island. I love the progression stuff like you mentioned but I also just like having more places to shop everyday lol

I'm so excited about the update. I never left ACNH since I also haven't finished my island yet and I am very excited to use all the new stuff. We get so much stuff for free! And I really don't mind the $25 for Happy home paradise, I think it's totally worth it. The only thing I'm kinda salty about is how expensive the amiibo card are in europe. While they cost $5,99 for 6 cards in the US we have to pay 9,99€ ($11,63 rn) for 3 cards in germany. I really hope they are going to lower the price later.

I am so excited for everything but if I had to pick one I think it is the DLC and the ladders. I have always been curious why they have it that you can hop over a small river, but there's no shortcut for cliffs, so happy to see that change!!
