I feel like some critics (not directed towards you) are out of touch with who this phone is marketed towards. It’s not for people with a X onwards who love those phones. It’s for people with the 5, 6, 6S, old SE, 7, etc. who haven’t upgraded in years, want to stay in the Apple family of phones, and don’t want to pay a lot of money for a new phone. So I think a lot of people who choose to upgrade will be excited with the SE 2020. Update: got the white SE 2020 and LOVE it so far. Very snappy processing speed, awesome camera, a definite upgrade over my old SE from 2016. Price was unbeatable through Total Wireless (prepaid) ...$350 base price instead of $400

@sousa sousa If I could, I would get the XR or 11 for my first iPhone because I use my phone a lot so I want a big screen and great battery life. I'm an Android user, my phone has a 6 inch screen and a 4000mAh battery (which lasts a full day no matter how I use my phone). The only thing I really dislike about my phone is that it won't be getting security updates anymore.

I upgraded from old Symbian and I am happy:) Though I have been using iPad for a while. The battery is okay, I can recharge my phone (and tablet) at work, at home, even at my car. And I have powerbank for longer stays off grid. So, yeah the internal battery does not bother me. The bezels never bothered me to begin with, I assume it would be nicer to have slightly more screen, but I can do without.

I’m glad they finally came out with a smaller phone with the capabilities of the larger ones. I’m someone that’s not impressed with all the fancy this and that the rest of these phones have i just need a budget friendly phone that can perform well and can fit comfortably in my pocket so I’m happy with my SE i had the previous one i loved it and i had the 6s I wanted to upgrade but apple has gotten way too expensive! So now I’m back and pretty darn happy

HuffyPuffs That’s fine you like the home button. But trust me once you start using Face ID you’ll never think fondly of the home button again. Get the 11, you have at Least the 14 day window to return or exchange it. You’ll thank me later

Pmr 73 hello 👋 I have had the iPhone se 2020 since launch and get approx 6-7 hours screen on time. Depending on usage. This gets me through a days usage. Heavy users may need to give it a top up later in the day but most should find it fine for a days use. You have wireless charging and quick charging options also to make charging less of a issue should you need it. I came from a iPhone 11 which has better battery life but also is much heavier and bigger and more expensive. You have to decide which is most important to you. I can recommend the iPhone se to you though it’s a great little handset.

Great video. This iPhone SE is perfect for me to upgrade my 5 years iPhone 6s. Love the form factor, the internals and the price. Like some already mentioned in the comments, most reviewers rocking their X+ phone keep complaining about the SE bezel is out of touch who this phone is marketed toward.

I got a black 128gb SE2 and I love it. Refreshing coming from a decade of android phones. I really like the display and one handed use and Touch ID gen 2 is so good I love having it. Waterproof, WiFi 6, A13, awesome cameras... it is a beast of a phone.

Thanks for reviewing this! I’m responding on my SE. I wanted to say some of the things you’ve reviewed as negatives like the touch feature and lack of facial recognition, are HUGE pluses for people (like me). I work in the operating room and wear masks so having this feature brought back was AWESOME! I just upgraded from my old SE. I wear a size 6 glove to give a reference point, but small phones REEEEEEEEEEALLY need to be a thing again. This one is still a little too big for me, but it’s manageable. I had ordered and tried the xs but couldn’t stand the size and hated the lack of a home button. I returned it after 2 days. I also like the touch feature because I don’t like facial recognition software on principle. And there is a large market out there for people who don’t. I’m an Apple girl all the way though. The price was great but wasn’t my deciding factor. It was the access with the touch capacity and smaller size. If I could have my old SE with this software/tech, I would be golden for the rest of my life 💗

Rene Rose the pro max is a beautiful phone. You will be sorely disappointed when the SE shows up at your door. It’s a midget sized phone for a 10 year old. You won’t be happy with it. Look if you want to downgrade and have a smaller screen size then just pick up the 11. With the 11 you’re not going to have a telephoto lens and an oled screen. But it’s a reduced size compared to the max but not overly reduced like the SE. besides you need bigger screens. You wear glasses, dude

AlwaysAPrince, the single camera is physically wider and moved slightly closer to the edge. I upgraded from the iPhone 6s. Also they removed the headphone jack on the new iPhone SE, which I don’t really miss. Because, I had upgraded to the AirPods 2 before I upgraded to the iPhone SE. I love my AirPods and the new iPhone SE too, these two work for me!

I’ve had this now for months and I still love it, the only downside I believe worth mentioning is the battery stamina. Thankfully with a 20w lightning to usb-c charger it does fill back up fast. But it’s definitely not for watching KZbin all day.

This weekend I purchased a red iPhone SE 2nd gen. I selected the 256GB memory model as I want to keep this phone running as trouble free for as long as possible. This is an upgrade from a Windows Phone. Windows Phone was great till around 2016 when services started being cancelled and apps stopped working. I gave up on my Windows Phone when a useful radio app would not work and my Bluetooth ear pods refused to play at a reasonably loud volume, even after resetting the phone. So far I’m happy with my iPhone. It’s not a big jump as I have an iPad and am used to IOS.

I have bought it, coming from a 6, this phone is awesome. Yes, it’s an old style, yes, my 6 was ok, little slow, couldn’t update to all the bells and whistles, battery got very hot, even though battery was changed once, but I liked the size, home button works for me. So on this SE 2nd, love it, would have been more bothered by a larger phone, but this one is fast, takes great pics, has all the updates and suits me just fine. Then the price! I refuse to spend $700 to over a $1000 on a phone. So if that is what Apple was looking for, it’s perfect so far in the 3 days I’ve owned it. Oh and my 6 wasn’t that old, 2016, not that long ago but yet “forced” to get a new phone, yeah, this price is okay!

Good points... I got one the other day and I got to say the battery life is not so good but not really bad ... it’s just ok ... I’m not a power user I just mostly use it for Podcasts, music ,emails ,texting some light social media and maybe two or three KZbin videos,I don’t do any kind of gaming and it’s been a little bit of a struggle to make it through a full day and the battery is brand new so I got a wonder.

jonah travisano totally agree. It’s especially noticeable for me coming from the iPhone 11 Pro Max. It’s not terrible, but far from class leading.

I upgraded from an iPhone 7 that was getting a bit tired to this one. It was an incredible value as I also traded in the 7 for a $120 credit and free financing after all was said and done for $11/month. The added features you presented made this a steal imo. Also went with the black. You'll never go wrong going with black...in anything.

I loved mine when I owned it. Upgraded from the iPhone 6s to the 2020 SE back when it came out. Still prefer my 13 pro but the SE was a good little iPhone

I’ve had my red se for a few days and I have to admit....I’ll be returning it. The sub 1080pm resolution when watching videos have been a deal breaker for me. I watch a ton of content on my phone and I just haven’t enjoyed it much unfortunately. For the price, it’s a great device though. The small screen with the low resolution has just proven to be a dealbreaker for me. Great review!

i got the iphone se in red the other day and i am a big fan. it's my first iphone we never wanted to spend the money on the new ones and i like the old designs of the Iphone 8, Iphone 7. I went from a Samsung Galaxy A7 2018 to this and even though it IS significantly smaller, I prefer the smaller phone because I can finally use it with one hand again. I am a big fan of the phone and I think it was definitely worth buying it.

Nice video... I picked up a white se2 with a 256gb memory option to get it sooner... otherwise I would’ve had to wait two weeks or better. But I don’t regret it. Picked up a smart battery case and this phone is good to go.

I just got the SE and I’m impressed with the speed alone and reliability coming from being a previous Android user. Though, there are a few things missing...I have still so much to discover and I’m excited to explore what this little phone can do. The sound quality caught me off guard, as it is so crisp and the size has advantages that my other phones didn’t and with a case from Otterbox that completely missed the logo, I just have a red circle on the back of my phone, but it’s cool. I didn’t get this phone to be a status symbol. I went for the most expensive and still under half of what others pay for their phones in the end...more money to live. An ideal choice for work as this phone can use two phone numbers at the same time with some carriers.

Walmart ran a special for over a month - between Mother's Day and Father's Day - which priced the SE at a $199 for customers of certain US carriers who update their phones. At $199 this is a ridiculously good phone and anyone with an iPhone 7 or earlier should have upgraded.

Night Sky there’s no fancy bells and whistle‘s like all the new phones but the camera works great screen resolution is fine everything about the phone for the price you cannot beat it, Plus it’s an iPhone which Apple Will support updates with it for probably the next 4-5 years

Night Sky I’ve switched around a few times and there is definitely benefits to both but with the entire world thinking the iPhone is king it’s a little easier to have Apple, with iMessage and facetime and all that But android phones are definitely amazing as well

Other reviewers say the battery performance is much worse than in your review. In comparison review this SE 2020 shut down sooner than old SE 2016, which is very disappointing.

As a healthcare worker, having to go back and forth between using Face ID and passwords to unlock my phone, I’m happy to go back to the SE. With having to wear masks at work and in public for the foreseeable future, I hope Apple enables Touch ID in their new flagship come fall.

ItzGreytonic X it offers a lot for $399/ £419. Wireless charging/ fast charging (option) water resistance great cameras stereo speakers etc along with the A3 Bionic and WiFi 6 you mentioned. . I think you get a lot for your money with the iPhone SE 2020.

I bought this phone, I love it. It was cheap and works well for my needs, which is just basic phone needs. People can be so materialistic nowadays. Ultimately most people use there phone for calls/texts and other social media applications. Massive phones are too much. People show off about the $1000 on a new iPhone, it’s just a phone. I’m really happy with it. It was a good buy.

I have the iPhone se2020 in red it’s amazing my battery lasts all day! Despite being on it all day it’s great and the camera I love it I prefer a small phone to a large one! I fell in love with my se when I first saw it come out and I got it straight away and from this day I’m still experiencing new stuff it’s a good phone if you love a smaller screen
