The audience would have been people who were possibly on the fence about buying microsoft's big subscriptions services worth hundreds of times more than using bing for a year. That's exactly it, either that, or the device was handled by a few people before the actual demo and failed so many times that it asked for the passcode in order to enable it again. But I agree, it wasn't a fail. Many people don't realize that. I've seen this same video in other "fail" compilations.

The face id one was because staff/audience got to try the iphones before the keynote had started hence the face id was wrong, same with touch id, too many wrong attempts, it asks for your passcode... the iphone did what it was meant to do... lol but the chrome one though

The guy literally said that the version of edge that's running on those systems is locked down, that means that it's not able to connect to the VM's because there is parts of them which isn't standard consumer version of Edge, where he knew a fresh install of Chrome wouldn't have those protections added into it.

I don’t think the iPhone X situation with Face ID was necessarily a bug. Current iPhones will still do that after a restart or when you summon the “slide to power down” option. It’s a security feature by disabling biometrics.
