The New Kindle Colorsoft Review and KU TBR

I got the colorsoft for Christmas too and it’s so nice, I don’t know why so many people complained about it, I love it!

Because as she says in the video the first batch of Colorsoft units (and many and their early replacements) had a widespread issue - a yellow band on the bottom of the screen….it didn’t look the same on all units, but for most it looked liked your pet did the liquid deed on the screen and you couldn’t clean it. It’s much better now, but some people are still seeing the problem.

yeah, if I turn the warmth all the way down, I can SORT of see it, but my default is a really warm setting, so I don't notice it at all.

The negative reviews definitely swayed me to the new Signature Paperwhite-which I absolutely love. I am glad you are enjoying the Colorsoft!

Yeah I think a lot of people went that direction. I think waiting for mine for the first wave to get fixed is what helped me not have issues with it.

Can you actually “immersive read” on this device?? I thought that is only possible on the mobile apps now?

If I’m immersive reading, I’ll turn the audiobook on with my phone and then read along physically. So the device isn’t technically doing it. But if the audiobook is on audible, it will go to the spot you’ve read the farthest

Excited that the colorsoft is working so well for you! I am married to my oasis and I really need them to release a new one of those 😅 I just got 3 months of KU so adding some of these to my TBR. I find the KU navigation to be so difficult in the kindle app. Like unless you know the title you want to read already, it just suggests the same 20 books for me.

I really love the oasis! Hopefully they come out with a new one soon! Yeah the KU page is not super user friendly. It’s a little better on a computer but still not fantastic. You’d think they’d figure out how to format it better!

Glad the CS is working for you! Debating on if I should get one when mine needs replaced (unlikely to be soon admittedly). I just get concerned about battery life since right now I only charge my kindle every other month 😅

It's been decreasing battery about the same as my paperwhite if that helps any!

@ I love my colorsoft and don’t really see any yellow at the bottom. I use it every night to read in bed and often during the day as well.

700 page book is WILD! You should turn on assistive reader, on your kindle for that book ! Or at least alexa 😅

@FourPawsandaBook yes alexa is my go to when I'm at work and can't look at the book directly. And yes the audio book for sure lol 700 pages would take me weeks to finish lool 😆

for omegaverse, highly recommend Stolen by Wolves. it's viking and not TOOOO omega else so I feel like it's a good step into it. also it is why choose but the first book is not. and it's really friggin good.
