Now we just need Black Talons Catalyst to be reworked into something useful too, since it suffered from the same problem old strongholds did. I hope the buff the hell out of the base sword too. It could also benefit from more powered heavies per charge. I want it to be like a void version of the heat wave skill from Final Fantasy 16 sending out like 4 slashes while doing flips and shit.

BTs catalyst was designed with the old sword system in mind (ie. you can spam heavy attacks as much as you want so long as you have ammo). With the current sword energy system, It's really difficult to use counterattack when you have to wait for the sword energy to fully recharge after blocking an attack and within only a 1 second window when counterattack is active. Since the the sword rework is (i'm pretty sure) going to be around sword guarding, this may make the catalyst be better. But i'd prefer if the catalyst was changed entirely to something that was didn't revolve guarding.

Exotics go good in gm and high level content. Last week's dares required an arc sword and I carried worldline zero. It cut those overloads, barrier before they can even put up their barrier to self heal. I simply double tesseracted and pop my finisher. Mini bosses were a breeze and it was good for ad clear since there were a many of ads there. The first legend dares I scored 450k.

I use the diamond lance helmet with this. Get a cluster of crystals spawned on direct hit then double blink and explode all crystals simultaneously. Quite the burst damage.

The reason why its burst dps is lower than the other options is A) the amount of ammo it uses per B) ease of use If used correctly you can get like 20 charged heavy attacks from worldline on guard cooldown while the other weapons either need kills or have shite ammo economy

Where I feel that Stronghold pairs perfectly with Lament, and fairly well with Black Talon, I think Worldline now pairs perfectly with MK 44 Stand Asides. If you put on Stand Asides, plus the Striker Titan Juggernaut aspect w/ full shoulder charge energy, you'll get a nice beefy over shield while sprinting head on into enemies. Sounds very strong. I might have to try it out when I get home.

CROSS MY DUDE!!! How you doing bud. Im so glad you re reviewed worldline zero. I got a little story about it. Worldline Zero is honestly my favorite exotic. The only one I'll put above chaperone, BECAUSE i love cqc combat, and blink. Ever see vergil from devil may cry? Worldline zero, embodies his form of combat, all to well. Back before getting worldliens catalyst was easy, i never decided to keep track, of which of the 5, "Escalation Protocol" rotating bosses i was farming for my worldline zero catalyst progress. When i finally looked, i saw i had 4 outa 5. Every week since i believe around mid forsaken/season of the hunter, i would farm escalation protocol, say 2-5 times a week. Usually in the same session, BECAUSE i didn't know what boss i needed to farm. I never got the catalyst before mars got sunset. Fortunately i have it now, but i keep that old worldline zero, and always infuse it/use it a few times a season, as a reminder that some grinds, are waaaaaay to grindy for your own good. It never gets old killing gaurdians through walls in cruicible with the heavy attack "that's how falling guillotine was bugging out way back then ;)" That's the story. Thx for showing my baby some love cross. Been watching your vids since part way through curse of orisis. I dont plan on stopping.

Sword changes I would love to see: -Guarding while sprinting made possible. Drains energy faster or blocks less damage. -Better tracking, especially in air -Fixing the bug where bonus melee energy skills don’t work with a sword out. -Perfect Parries refund energy to max, rewarding the player with heavy attacks for parrying rather then making it an either/or choice like today. In all honesty I think the final point might be something they have in mind, seeing as they removed that effect from the gauntlets. The mechanic is already in the game and could be improved to make up for latency.

I love you Cross but as a sword main I have a lot reasons why Worldline is still not better than Lament, but to keep it short I'm just going to talk about why it's not fair to compare a dynamic burst DPS source like Lament to the sword that requires a kill first to get it's effective burst DPS and also consistently wastes a lot of ammo just for a champion. Worldline wastes 3 ammo per heavy attack plus 1 (or more) ammo to proc Assassin's Blade which means it uses 7+ ammo for the optimal combo. Lament's shortest combo uses 4 ammo (2 from revved lights + 2 from revved heavy) but that doesn't mean that is THE combo, that's just the combo people use for SUSTAINED DPS. Lament is a dynamic weapon because you can decide how much you wanna prolong the combo as you can get up to 5 revved lights and then 1 revved heavy which I can guarantee kills Carl, and wowee it uses 7 ammo (5 from revved lights + 2 from revved heavy) which is the *bare minimum* for Worldline's optimal combo. I can admit that Worldline does good burst DPS but it has 2 major flaws that still make it worse than Lament: - It needs a setup that uses extra ammo. - The execution also uses a lot of ammo. Something extra that I wanna point out is that Worldline is only good right now in some endgame activities because of the Arc surge and the Arc builds that come with the artifact.

If you want genuine sustain damage with a sword in a close range fight you cannot beat using a Vortex frame (or Crown Splitter) with either Vorpal or En Garde with Fourth Horseman paired with an Arc holster mod. You can burst Horseman and lay into the boss with your sword and by the time your heavy attack is recharged you can swap back to Fourth Horseman and shoot out another full burst. I was running this specific combo with No Backup Plans against Caiatl in my solo Duality runs.

@@raventhegreat8165 i mean, it's not like worldline was made to be used as a speedrunning tool in the first place, it was basically made as such BY THE COMMUNITY because of a "glitch" and everyone took it as a fact that "it's a speedrunning weapon", negating the fact bungie didn't intend that for it, so like, yes you guys all had fun using it, but glitches and bugs are just that, and they need to ultimately be fixed one day. though that's a "double-edged logic", yes. on one hand, you'd want your game to be as polished as possible so it isn't a broken mess, but at the same time some of those glitches could have been fun to mess around with, so now you've "ruined the fun". anyway, this comment is long but, what i want to say is that, compairing eager edge to temporal sprint was never a fair and a truely justified comperason to begin with as both perks serve different purposes and ultimately work differently, whether or not their ability to give loads of speed was intended or simply a glitch.

Another exotic armor for warlock I’d recommend is mantle of battle harmony. It also provides that 25% buff when your super is full which it probably will be considering it gives you your super faster. It’s a really good exotic that’s slept on far too much

As soon as the season started I was running through the seasonal content with all exotic swords with their catalysts, heartshadow with perma invis on primary swings, worldline deleting everything infront of me, black talon looking cool as its catalyst is just not good (it should grant a charge up for up to 6 projectile slashes in quick secession instead imo), and lament just being the current standard for swords. None are meta but all are fun.

The problem with this video is it fails to mention/ignores all the swords that have come out the last few seasons with origin traits that allow them to get their heavy charge back super fast and the fact that in almost all recent content Surrounded will be up a majority of the time. Enhanced Surrounded is a 47% damage buff, with no setup required. Bequest can be crafted with Enhanced Surrounded and is the highest impact. Nasreddin has the Field Tested origin perk that gives swords 55% charge rate. Caretaker has Nobel Deeds that gives 20 charge rate, which is 66.6% charge rate buff, and can be crafted with Enhanced Surrounded. And on paper Thin Precipice is probably damage king, but the scenario is more niche as you'd need to run either Golden Tricorn or ideally Counter Attack for a 50% damage buff, and the origin trait Unsated Hunter grants 50 charge rate, which is 166% rate buff (if I'm reading correctly). Of course I haven't seen anyone fully test and lay out these DPS numbers and people seem to underestimate just how valuable surrounded is in the current sandbox, plus the fact that surrounded spec is now inherent in the perk. Anyone that's read this far, do yourself a favor and take a weapon with surrounded into Ghost of the Deep, Deep Dive, or Salvage and thank me later.

Rocking arc and pulled this out for nothing but heck. Read all these reviews that said it was the worst and even included in a review of worst exotics. Hadn't used since escalation protocol on Mars to get the cat which was an accomplishment. And a half or ten. You know. Proceeded to blink through nightfalls with barely ammo issues. Always hated wizards and man is it fun to jump and blink through them! But then I got shot across the map and died out of bounds and I'm like WTF was THAT. Warlock, arc, vesper of radius, healing rift, chaos reach, arc soul and electrostatic mind. HOW??? Still doing NF and am noticing sometimes moving very very fast after a heavy blink attack but can't reproduce. Seems to happen with wizards and edges. Any idea why or how? Usually skating methods involve shatterdive well of radiance or the slide melee? Fantastic update Ross!

Ya know what's funny? Bungie DID intend to nerf the damage originally they said it'd be about a 20% nerf to the heavy attack but later this was changed and the patch note even stated the original 20% decrease before being updated to say the 8.3% meaning it was likely a last minute change.

Have you tried guillotine on a gyrfalcon hunter with volatile rounds? How does that compare to WL0 per second? Also, the hunter combo is indeed with Bakris to push that damage higher while essentially turning a Revenant Hunter into an anime "teleporting" ninja

doesn't rlly mean much but, notice how he only used 2 light atackes with element... But anyway, I think worldline could use a couple more pushes. Two specifically I think would benefit it would be to fix up the temporal buff a bit by giving it some linger time and also possibly making it so that it doesn't deactivate from a slide (just some minor things that would go a long way). But on top of that, I think that the "Duelist's Trance" perk should be added to the weapon's catalyst. It would fit perfectly, and I also think it kinda needs it. I just kinda hate how sometime's I'll end up usn the normal heavy instead of the burst heavy, then I gotta wait for the entire bar just to refill. Just a bit of a pain.

I think the combo damage is much more important than technically how fast the burst is. You can do both full combos on a stunned champion. Lament as more damage, anti barrier and healing on it. Only in arc burn would Worldline actually be better. Also rising the dps on Guillotine for the dps calculation makes no sense when you can't use the heavy attack after the first time does it not? Like the first number is it. It's the cap till you charge your heavy swing again.

4:15 small mistake. You make 2 light and 1 heavy attack with the Lament combo.

don't forget that with Guillotine, you get to use an exotic in another slot like boop cannon

still falling guillotine damage being lower to a exotic is to be expected and still thats a very huge impressive damage for a sword heavy weapon thats a legendary grade and the reason im only pointing out guillotine because its for every class while throne cleaver is only for one class
