Duuuude! Sweet. I've been a bit out of love with Seiko since the KS LEs dropped, but this floats my boat. I'm pretty certain I remember my Dad wearing wearing something very similar back in the day. I like the green best and would need to see in person, but yup, liking this. 3k takes some fun out of it though... Not saying it's an unfair price, but it's not a fun price.

Now i understood why it took you so long to release this video. You really gave this ks justice in those macros..👌 that 9.9mm thickness is insane and those polished sides are really beautiful.. that green dial can also work as an everyday color. Maybe the only negative is the lack of micro adjust but damn this is my new grail watch.. thanks for this great video, we need more ks videos in youtube..😃

Recently I tried the SBGW303, a limited edition for Europe, and for the first time I got aware of the reflection of the crown on the side / under the high polished bezel (2:20). Something I have never seen on another watch. So just another detail that reminded me of a wonderful Grand Seiko.

@kresimirpleic I'm talking from my own experience and personal preferences. For me, it looks like a candidate for everyday watch, not a "special occasion only" kind of watch. It's not that dressy. It's beautiful and very refined, but for me it's clearly a sports watch. Having a 50m WR in these, considering its price tag and sporty look, is utterly underwhelming and killing its potential as everyday watch for me. I know the 50m wr dress watches with screw down crown, and it's there for a reason. Tap water or not, you equally don't want it inside your watch. It only affects the difficulty and the price of watch full recovery, not the fact you have to recover it after you flooded it.

First king seiko that I love the look off. Shame about the bracelet because no micro adjustment or half links most likely means I will have issues getting a good fit. Love my seiko turtles and im wearing my Nemo right now. At least they put in a nice hi-beat into this one unlike when king seikos first came back with the low beat movements. For the money they were a bit of a rip off. Green is my fav colour so I love the one you showed in the video. Priced high though but specs are at least fitting of a watch in that price bracket unlike the first KS like I mentioned. Might have to get one and if the bracelet is crap fitment like I think for me then a nice matching green leather strap would really set the watch off nicely.

Really appreciate the look and standout case design. I feel it would have been better just a little bit smaller still, also with possibly a slightly thinner bracelet, as this errs on overpowering. The dial texture reminds me of some GS and I like it a lot, likewise the colour. This is a greatly judged green and I'd be inclined to agree that it's the pick of the bunch. I prefer butterflies over most foldovers, thanks to the lower profile, more compact footprint and streamlined presentation. To me this is a dressy piece, so it feels warranted too.

Is that +20 on wrist or at rest? Because specs mean on wrist. I have a Spb455 that run -1s/day, but as soon as I put it down dial up, it gains 15s/day 😅. But a fast watch is better than a slow one

@ since it has been ‘serviced’ I hope it will improve. A combination of both (on wrist/dial up). I’ll wear it for a while and then possibly take it to my local watchmaker to regulate it. They have assembled NH35 watches for me in the past and they all ran at COSC…

I would love to but its a bit redundant with my grand seiko as my dress watch....Plus I'm a little broke right now as I had to buy a new camera last month and it cost me over $4,000 Canadian. (you can't tell the videos look better?) and the main reason is I've been hunting down a 62MAS (SJE093) for a long long time. So that watch is my first priority. I'm just picky looking for a "seiko" on the crown that isn't upside down and a good number :P

nice review. the price is terrible though, for just a little bit more you can get a proper mechanical GS with a much nicer everything. The sad part is that Seiko corporation treats KS as a throwaway brand, giving it bad movements (and terrible customer service treatments, yeah -- I tried to service one vintage piece), unlike the rivalry with GS in the 70s, what a shame.

The Grand Seiko shown in the video is $2,400 USD more (not just a little more), and ADs are now instructed to offer no discounts or risk losing their Grand Seiko license. In contrast, the King Seiko often comes with discounts, likely saving you over $3,000. As for the movement, it's a completely new architecture, and in my experience testing dozens, they've all performed at COSC levels or better. However, I’d steer clear of the 6R King Seikos

I really like the purple dial version of this watch, but $3,100 USD is just too much. Seiko getting overly greedy like the Swiss. My Grand Seiko 9F I bought new for something like $2,200, so the price on this watch is ridiculous.

This is wishful thinking but if Seiko can offer watches in the 1.5-2.5k price range with 6L movements, they would absolutely dominate, or have the 6Ls replace many of the pricer watches with 6Rs (bleh) and bump up the price ~15-25%. Watches with the 6L just feel SLIGHTLY overpriced to me, as nice and thin as they are. This is coming from an SLA043 owner (overpriced at retail) with the 8L lol. Just feel like this movement is ALMOST there // not being utilized to its full potential!

You can usually get the 2.5k mark if your kind to your AD :P The 6L is in its pure raw form and I agree that it can improve. There is SI hair spring and longer power reserve they can add in the future. I would also love rhodium coating like the 8L's for longevity. I'm not sure if they coat it with something but it doesn't seem like from photos.

There are plenty of the high beat 3600bps KS watches on Ebay with a 562x movement in them. I would imagine after a service one could be had for around $1,000 ish. I also read that these movements were pretty robust and watchmakers seems to like working on them. Interesting that Seiko would sell a reissue for this much... I guess they are trying to be "the" luxury Japanese watch brand these days, eh?

I love Seiko, I have several from the 70s and current ones. My last PADI acquisition at 1500 euros I paid 575 euros on sale. Because if I have to spend 1500 euros on a watch I would take, say a Frederique Constant which has a movement that is not better. But we must stop this masquerade with prices that exceed 3500 euros. The Seiko group has launched into the system of exclusive watches, limited editions with prices that explode. Already the market for Swiss made watches is falling and the market will see the arrival of mid-high range Chinese watches with competitive prices and good manufactures.

Love the look of it. But, pin and collar should be obsoleted by all OEMs especially at that price. Plus they've clearly spent time on the design and then plonked that miserable little handset on it. A bit of a let down to be honest. Maybe the next version, at $7000 will iron out the wrinkles.

Love the design, but the watch is too big. Seiko and GS just can't get it right - the autos with higher quality movements are all +/- 40mm, while the 36-37mm watches are all handwind and/or cheap movements.

I couldn't stand the bent applied logo, the dust on the dial furniture and the poor bracelet tolerances. It just feels like a $150 watch in my hands. Sadly not worth it at all unless you're willing to buy something modern over a vintage design you love. Otherwise, you could buy a 3 watch collection with higher quality pieces for a very similar price.
