@@samuelkim2611 All the King Seikos so far are ALMOST exactly what I want. The first set had the nice colors, that plum red and that silver. But they were too small and had no date function. 2nd set were very nice but didn't have lume. 3rd set had the lume but the color choices were bad. Olive green, charcoal grey and a washed out denim blue. Give me the purple with the lume, and the previous case and the bracelet from the first or second batch and it is a done deal.

Just got one. The limited edition, 323/700. A turtle dress watch, 39.4mm case diameter, 9.9mm tickness, 43mm lug to lug... amazing bracelet and case. Stuning finishes. And the unbelievable confort... So yes, it is expensive but just try to wear one one day and you will understand.😉👍🏻

Fun facts :Daini of Daini seiko-sha means “second “. The watches were produced at Second factory of seiko back then while Grand seiko were produced at another factory(1st). Sha of seiko-sha means” Company “. Seiko means “Accuracy” instead of “success” as many people misunderstand due to translation.

I've been down the vintage Seiko rabbit hole recently, so here are some corrections: - The Kanji for Seikosha is 精工舎. Seiko (精工) is 'Detailed/Exquisite Craftsmanship', and Sha(舎) is 'House', not company (社). - Daini Seikosha (第二精工舎) does literally mean No.2, but was established in 1939 to make wristwatches. The 1st Seikosha (est. 1892) was still around, and mainly produce clock & pocket watch. - Suwa Seikosha came in a bit later in 1942, and was originally a sub-contractor (Daiwa Kogyo), which then later became a subsidiary. - Grand Seiko was first produced by Suwa in 1960, and Daini followed up with King Seiko in 1961. However, both factories produced their own lines of KS & GS. E.g. 56KS/GS by Suwa & 45KS/GS by Daini.

I bought the king Sieko limited to 1700 with date. It’s a beautiful watch but the time is anywhere from 8-12 seconds. Is this good for a king Seiko?

Its a press model for early shooting purposes before it gets to production. Yes we agree we will always get a watch moving if it can. Its not high beat as its 3hz

When i first started looking at king seikos the price for the new model was 1800 dollars for a watch with the movement that i had in my seiko for around 800 bucks (6R31), so i felt it wasnt worth paying that for only a look. But that price that they have now with a new more interesting movement (6L35) makes more sense in my eyes for the premium u pay

I bought it, with a burgundy dial, the most beautiful watch I've ever seen. Yes... I frowned when I heard the price, but its looks and workmanship made up for it. And it certainly doesn't mean much to me if my automatic watch is late or early by 15 seconds during a whole day. I would like someone to explain to me how it is possible that someone attaches so much importance to it. This one seems to be more accurate, as well as at least $1000 more expensive, so I'd like to know how that makes more sense to you? I'm just curious... because there will be a difference of a few seconds, at most.

@@Ivan-NZ for me, i think a more sweeping hand and that VPH looks better. Also, it stings in my eye to pay more than double for only design when i have the same movement in my other seiko. If they wanted to make a premium seiko and then take their semi cheap movement it feels like they kinda just milking the king seiko heritage. And yeah the burgundy one was so nice.

Its actually not thinner then the original manual wound King Seiko Chronometer 4502-8020. They are 9mm thick and the new automatic KS1969 is 10mm thick

Beatiful vintage, great looks, superb quality, much to love! Except for the price... 3200 EUR they go over here? How many people are willing to pay that for a watch that says SEIKO. A Seiko Pressage is like 400 to 500 EUR. Just for looks I would pick this King Seiko at like 600, 700, 800 maybe even 900 EUR. But north of 3000? This is Tudor territory. And this is a watch that in the end says Seiko on the dial, just like that 150 EUR Seiko 5 you got from Amazon. This is just too expensive for fans of the brand, me included. And those into 3k+ watches, well they want Swiss. If you gonna sit in a casino in monte carlo next to some high class gentleman wearing Omega, Tag, Longines , Breitling and the like... They will look at that Seiko brand, show little respect for the Japanese craftmanship and pick you for a tourist that should have gone to Vegas instead. It's a great watch but at this price it needs more than just build quality.

That's very true. I have a vintage 7006 that measures 39mm, but looks smaller because most is actually case and not dial, which has the same size of mine 35,5mm 7005. This case shape also tends to be or looks square, which helps in compactness.

The aesthetics of the line is perfect. It is ironic that it's inspiration is chronometer certified, yet this one is not. I wonder how these 6L35 movements do in the real world though. Aside from the probably US$500 too high price (I bet you could get a discount from your AD), these are a great addition. I think a silver Seiko on the limited model would be best, but the gold is subtle and not a deal breaker, considering the beautiful dial. The silver would be my next choice. The green and purple are executed well, but don't remotely fit my personal style. Overall, I like this addition to the King Seiko lineup. Thanks for doing such a great and well shot video on these.

These are beautiful watches however the fact that these are not cosc certified is a disservice to this watches past. It was a stupid and lazy decision. Meanwhile, companies like Ball have their watches cosc certified and are improving in popularity.
