I had the same problem with fishman pickups, they weren't any good but when I used everything flat on my pedal and amp that's when it had the best sound. Fishmans sound good by themselves and you build over them

Awesome! I hope they also release this as a Standard with limited options for less money, like they did with their 4-strings.
@steffomca762Ай бұрын
Well they may not have released those yet, but we can still order carbon fiber necks separately!

Looks nice and I love when people innovatе, instead of just sticking to the tastes of the concervators and purists.

Do you know when they release it? They don't offer headless basses at their website.

Since Modulus is stupidly expensive and Status is out of the business this seems to be a reasonable option in graphite necked basses. Wondering what price they ask for it
@trailblazeratv6306Ай бұрын
$500 off right now so there are around $2000 for the Pro

Interesting instrument! But judging by the sounds in the video I would suggest other pickups and electronics that have more presence in the upper mids. The carbon neck seems to lack a bit of focus in that range compared to maple for example. Would be interesting to hear the passive sound to verify this.
@StefanDan85Ай бұрын
sounds like megadeth because in the original recording elefson used a modulus
@ampthebassplayerАй бұрын
I’ve never heard that before, but if that’s true it’s very interesting.
It sounds pretty thin and sterile or woofy and muddy. Nothing remarkable going on in the tone department.
@AugustThor438Ай бұрын
The thing about carbon fibre necks basses seem to have those deeper resonating sound that wood necks normally don’t have
@ampthebassplayerАй бұрын
I don’t really buy into tone wood, but these basses do seem have a specific quality about them.
@AugustThor438Ай бұрын
@ I agree about tonewood, there are so many things that go into sound of an instrument than what kind of wood it’s made of but carbon fibre isn’t a tonewood, it’s something totally different. I own a Status Streamline bass which is made entirely out of one solid piece of carbon fibre and it resonates very differently than other basses, including the neck thru basses.

A headless instrument with a head is not "headless".
@steffomca762Ай бұрын
Yeah i don't understand that either
@kashkashkashkashkashАй бұрын
@@steffomca762 it's cuz it uses the tuning mechanism of headless guitars and guitars with heads(headful guitars?) are different. what they've done is htey've used the tuning mechanism of the headless but given it a head anyway. i like it tbh i always thought headlesses looked silly. maybe they should call it faux-head? idk
