Wide angle is so great because it's so easy to make things look epic. Put it on the ground, grab focus on something a third into the frame and voila.

Great work, i love Lumix colours coming out of s5… but the auto focus even with the 18mm native lens kept pulsing… beautiful camera with beautiful image. Maybe on the s5ii they’ll add the pdaf system.
@jeremybfilms Жыл бұрын
Yep I noticed the pulsing as well. It's still serviceable for personal work. But in a pro setting, unfortunately you'll still need to pull focus or minimally use autofocus. A new autofocus system would be amazing.

@@jeremybfilms what r the technical uses of 18mm focal length?? It is an expensive lens. How useful it is for weddings?

As long as you lock on to a target it works pretty well, otherwise you should just get used to switching to manual focus

On the S5iix with tweaked AF settings the 35mm works just fine. I wonder if this one does.

Hi , thanks for this nice video. If you find it a bit complicated to record with such a wide angle you can change that 18mm lens to 27mm by applying the apsc crop available on full frame lumix like yours. In video, in photos mode it doesn't let you, at least on the s1h.

Hello. Pretty stunning footage. May I ask? How were you able to film the handheld vlogging sections without getting wobbles in the corner? I'm curios if IBIS and E-stabe was on etc. Thanks!

Thank you Jeremy ! I really liked your cinematic style and touch for the cocktail part of this video. And I was wondering if I could use this lens on a Canon 6D (mark ii) or do I need some kind of e-mount ?
@jeremybfilms Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the kind words! Since the lens is mirrorless and for specifically the L mount, I don't think it would be able to adapt to the Canon 6D

Great video - thank you. I have a question: Does the 18mm pass the 90 degree horizontal challenge ? You have a crossing a hallway or a room. You align the camera exact 45 degrees. do you have the walls left and the right of a room on the pic ?

AFC looks weak, have you tweaked AF settings? Have you used face detection? I have better results with 35mm prime from Pana.
@jeremybfilms Жыл бұрын
I'm thinking my autofocus settings I have may be a little too harsh, that's most likely just on my end. Yeah I've noticed face detection is much more accurate.
