I think Barca or Xavi saw his potential coupled with his positional versatility as worthy of paying €55m for him. We've been in an inflated market for several seasons, so the transfer fee we paid isn't that outlandish. To me, Ferran plays best as a RW with freedom to drift while supported by an attack minded fullback. Even at City, he was mostly used as a RW or False 9. Hardly as a LW. Somehow, Xavi figured he could convert him into a LW, allowing him to cut in onto his right foot. He's a shadow of himself when used from the left. Sadly for him, there have been better options on the RW since he's been a Barca, from Dembele to Raphinha, and now Yamal. He's a squad player for the most part. I could see him falling into rotation behind any of Olmo, Raphinha, possibly even Gavi when he returns.

Agree. I think Ferran is a player who has shown glimpses of greatness and was doing pretty good before his injury in february, but i honestly think his biggest problem is his attitude on the pitch. He tends to be very distracted when he gets the ball, his pressing is not as good as it should be, and he has not been creating as many chances as he used to do when he first arrived. However i think that barça have sadly one of the most toxic fanbases in football. Instead of harrassing the player and hating on him he should be encouraged to do better with constructive critique, because at the end of the day he is still part of the club. If he leaves go on and hate him if you want, but right now hating on him is just counter producing.

When guardiola doesn’t need you anymore there is a problem. Look at the pattern, aguero eric garcia ferran cancelo all were easily offloaded and barca happily got scammed. Although watching barca play under koeman gave us heart attacks let alone aguero playing directly under him, so not his fault though

It's simple really. Flick's team wants the players to be able to run nonstop for not only 90 minutes, but 180 or even 270 minutes, Ferran can do that, he is a great athlete, he just shouldn't be a starter, but I can see him being decent I an couple of years if our ffp lets him stay. We can't even sell him for 30mil I'm pretty sure, so we are stuck with him. He also has good relationship with all players

Ferran’s best season (23/24) is equivalent to Ansu Fati’s (22/23) worst here at Barca in terms of output (14 g/a). That should be enough to show you he is nowhere near the standard at Barca. He should’ve been sold in the summer of 2023 before last season. How he survived all the transfer windows is shocking.

I do feel like ferran would just do better as a cf then anything. He has good linkup, presses, makes runs, and can poach. As a rw he cant beat lamine or raphinha at all imo. I do wamna see ferran as a cf more to either rest lewa or as a rw if pau victor is lewas cf sub. I imagine ansu is a contendor for that spot as well but who knows when and if he'll comeback

i think its mainly a mindset problem. maybe he hasnt got the talent to be a world class player but there is defenitely much more potential in him than what we have seen from him. i had the hope that with hansi flick he might up his game but that hasnt happened... at this point the best solution for everybody seems to be parting ways but ferran is somehow reluctant to do so...

Everyone talks for what Xavi did with not so good Barcelona but he destroyed few youngsters having played them for too long at that age. Ferran Torres is another waste of money for sure. Not even worth being in Subs. Its better to sell him for even 30 Mills rather than having false hope of what if he delivers? Also his wages will be freed. Ansu Fati and Ferran Torres salary is even more than de Jong and Lewandowski as these players don't even contribute to the side. Leaving Fati and Ferran Torres, they can reduce wages and also the false hope. Let's build a side around Lewandowski. Raphina, Lamine, Olmo, Fermin and Lamine along with Lewandowski can really be a genuine attacking option for us.

But in the past over a year, I think he is still at the club just because he is spanish and best friend with pedri and therest of spain generation.
