After griezmann, if there is one player I prayed to succeed at barca it was ferran torres. I Don't know why but back then when he was at city even before his transfer rumours to barca started circulating , I really wanted him to sign for barca because I always thought he would fit really well here in that right wing slot and ansu will play on the left. Agree. I think Ferran is a player who has shown glimpses of greatness and was doing pretty good before his injury in february, but i honestly think his biggest problem is his attitude on the pitch. He tends to be very distracted when he gets the ball, his pressing is not as good as it should be, and he has not been creating as many chances as he used to do when he first arrived. However i think that barça have sadly one of the most toxic fanbases in football. Instead of harrassing the player and hating on him he should be encouraged to do better with constructive critique, because at the end of the day he is still part of the club. If he leaves go on and hate him if you want, but right now hating on him is just counter producing.

I think Barca or Xavi saw his potential coupled with his positional versatility as worthy of paying €55m for him. We've been in an inflated market for several seasons, so the transfer fee we paid isn't that outlandish. To me, Ferran plays best as a RW with freedom to drift while supported by an attack minded fullback. Even at City, he was mostly used as a RW or False 9. Hardly as a LW. Somehow, Xavi figured he could convert him into a LW, allowing him to cut in onto his right foot. He's a shadow of himself when used from the left. Sadly for him, there have been better options on the RW since he's been a Barca, from Dembele to Raphinha, and now Yamal. He's a squad player for the most part. I could see him falling into rotation behind any of Olmo, Raphinha, possibly even Gavi when he returns.

Correction in one of your points. Ferran IS, or more to the point was, a touchline winger. He was considered very promising winger in his day with great footwork, speed and shooting. The oroblem is that version of him has been extinguished completely - he’s chunkier and slower and doesn’t have the footwork he used to have. Whoever adviced him to bulk up and start lifting weights needs to be held accountable because it’s done nothing for him, all it’s done is take out the one thing he was really good at and now he’s average at everything.

I dont think anyone sees what i see,ferran is not a bad player,the problem is it seemd neither he know the coaches know what his best position is . But let me break it down. Ferran as a winger on either flank lacks passing and driblling to work well with a team like barcelona. But we jave always seen he is actually a good finisher and whenever he was olayed as a 9 instead of lewa he was very sharp, ferrans strongest ability is his off ball movement and direct shooting ability ,this is not good for a winger but for a striker this is all you need to get goals, but again as the main nine his not physical enough or as experienced as lewa in tight matches which brings me to my conclusion ferran torres is actually a supporting striker,he excels when he is played just behind a creative number 9 and given freedom to run anywhere on the pitch , the few matches xavi did this ferran was on top form befroe getting injured and suddent he started getting used as a wide winger again,if ferran where to move to a team that uses this tactic he would be class,but since barca and none of our coaches so faruse this ferran is played out of position and his weaknesses become glaringly obvious.

When guardiola doesn’t need you anymore there is a problem. Look at the pattern, aguero eric garcia ferran cancelo all were easily offloaded and barca happily got scammed. Although watching barca play under koeman gave us heart attacks let alone aguero playing directly under him, so not his fault though

It's simple really. Flick's team wants the players to be able to run nonstop for not only 90 minutes, but 180 or even 270 minutes, Ferran can do that, he is a great athlete, he just shouldn't be a starter, but I can see him being decent I an couple of years if our ffp lets him stay. We can't even sell him for 30mil I'm pretty sure, so we are stuck with him. He also has good relationship with all players

i kind of get the ferran criticism, by now he should have been performing better and we paid alot of money. I never understood the ter stegan hate. Dude is one of the best keepers for barca and one of the bests in the world. Dude clutches alot of our games, watching him ping bullets from 50+ yards out is so entertaining, and his positioning as a goalie is inspiring. but the second he has a bad few games everyone hates him. To me the real barca and football fans know he is world class.

Ferran’s best season (23/24) is equivalent to Ansu Fati’s (22/23) worst here at Barca in terms of output (14 g/a). That should be enough to show you he is nowhere near the standard at Barca. He should’ve been sold in the summer of 2023 before last season. How he survived all the transfer windows is shocking.
