It's more durable than any smartphone made of glass and metal. Seriously, who thought pairing hard aluminum with brittle glass was the way to go? Plastic screens may be smudgier, and metal "feels" more premium, but when you put them together, you make something bound to crack on impact.

@@themonsteraddictmmxvi1564 It's pretty good! Always gets people asking if they can look at it and it's different. The screen is nice with a slight obvious hinge ditch but SUPER slight. Over all, though, it's a solid phone but suffers from what I call "Beta technology".

You can see in the bottom right corner, that someone yanked and twisted this thing so damn hard (likely trying to steal it), that they literally cracked and split the body/housing. I repair phones for a living; the actual body cracking and splitting apart doesn't usually happen even with phones that have been run over. The Razr has a whole bunch of fairly arguable shortcomings. The screen getting damaged on this one though, is hardy one of them. Even though the hinge on this model is metal and solid asfuq - from the force needed applied to cause that kind of damage to the body, I'm frankly surprised it's not fully broken in two.
@ccllvn3 жыл бұрын
Man I actually have this phone and it's perfectly fine. Of course you can't hand this to idiots that damage even their regular phone or assume that it'll break before even handling it. You're careful and that's it, I bet people applied ridiculous force on that display model. You can see it flexing in the area where the tiny hinge segments meet. Mine doesn't do that in the SLIGHTEST (!), obviously because in order to work right it has to be tightly constructed. My guess is someone tried to bend it too far back because again, they are idiots and don't understand how the hinge works with the panel and how delicate a moving mechanism of this sort is. I don't even have a case and it is fine. I see people daily with messed up screens and they have 2mm thick rubber cases on their normal flat glass screen phone. Those are the morons that break these, if you're a tech enthusiast and used to handle special hardware with special care you'll have zero problems, like me since october 2020.

@@Bangingyourmom All phones have shortcomings, personally I don't think the most recent 2 have any I would be bothered much by. Except maybe weight, but I guess that comes withnthe theory. From what I recall when i watched the reviews, my impressions of this very closely aligned with what LTT had to say, so I'll point your attention to their LTT / Techlinked reviews. They tell it much better than I can. In terms of repairs, the back cover tends to be a common thing to break, but the shop I work at is heavy on promoting Iphone repair so I don't know if the razer and rog phone repairs we get are representative yet, because of the relative low volume coming in to us for repairs.

I think it is employee's fault, because these stripes appear on the screen due to the fact that the phone fell on the lower part of the case, and as you know, in stores like a wallmart, phones that have not yet been sold are firmly attached to stands-chargers that prevent a random person from taking them. which means that the phone could not have been dropped by anyone except the store employee when he put the newly delivered device on the shelf or, out of nothing to do, took it and smashed it inaccurately.
@JamesMiddletonIV2 жыл бұрын
Interesting theory, but this phone was actually held by a retractable cable mount, you can pick it up, but it only goes about 2 feet. I think someone tried to open it further than the hinge allowed. Not nearly as dumb as the standard practice of smartphones only lasting a few years due to an arbitrary lack of software updates and lack of reparability. This isn't even a bad idea. Honestly, the concept is pretty cool. Flip-phones are still in recent public memory, and some people even prefer them. I myself would probably own one as an emergency phone if my budget allowed for it. So I think touchscreen flip-phones were inevitable, and will probably continue to be developed and improved for years, since it combines the compactness of flip-phones with the utility of smartphones. Aside from the fact that they're (at present) fragile, they're actually really good. Then again I never owned one because, again, budget, so this is all based on novelty and hearsay
