Why not get the 500? Also you need to remember all the new standalone units are based off the mpc software and use the touchscreen. If they were to make a 500 like unit, then they would need to develop an entirely different operating system. If they add a touch screen, then why would they make it if theres the Live 1 and 2....

Yes, but just like any other controller so the buttons will not be dedicated and the display useless. Best of buying a Maschine MK1 controller or an Old MPC studio controller. Much cheaper and will do the same.

When will VIP 3 finally be adapted to Mac OS 64 Operating Systems, as Catalina, Big Sur and oncoming ones. I have that great ADVANCE keyboard controller, but soon after purchasing it and upgrading to Mac OS Catalina it didn‘t work as it did before anymore. I never get an answer to this issue. But AKAI has great gear, so how can this happen? (I know this has nothing to do with this MPC-gear hear, but I use every platform to get an answer.)

While the user interface has been modernized, the workflow with Projects, Sequences, and Tracks is the same across all MPCs. It shouldn't be too difficult for you to acclimate to an MPC Studio, One, Live II, or X.

MPC Studio will control external devices via MIDI with included adapters but only when connected to the computer and MPC2 DAW. It will not work standalone.

I am missing the new VST version 2.10 try downloading the mpc beat again but no. there is no new version. What do you advise me to do? Go to the Akai website and create an account, then login and register your unit. Once you do, go to the page where all your units are registered and find the MPC Live 2. Under software downloads, you will see MPC 2.10 right under this section, click that and a sub menu of content will open. In here, you will find a link at the bottom of the list called MPC 2.10 Synth content, it is a zip file. Extract this to your computer where your expansions are installed, or, copy the content to your hdd on the Live 2 (sdcard or installed hdd). For the Beats VST, in the same menu, download the 2.10 MPC software and run the installer. It will prompt during the install about installing the VST plugins, they are all checked by default. You will need to specify the directory where they will be installed to and your DAW will need to have that directory added in it's VST locations settings.

- Can I get a bit more info on Gold Dust and the other content coming with this? If I already have all your expansions, does Gold Dust or the mentioned Night Life expansions contain anything new? If so, are there plans to make these available as separate purchases for those of us with one of your stand alone units? - Also, just a recommendation for something to think about on future hardware, an X axis strip would have been very cool on this unit. You would have all the benefits of the Dual X/Y effects :) - Also, just one more thing, a bigger screen please. Gonna get one, but it's a bit pricey, would have liked to see a $199 price point. An AD/DA for sampling and playback would have been nice as well. They added a lot. The touch strip is great, and handles q links. Looping and overdub. No repeat. Color indication for pads. Screen is fine. Plenty of buttons. If you want more, just buy a more expensive unit of theirs, silly, or buy the older one. Lulz

Mpc software on computer screen is very cramped, not user friendly. I think mpc stand alone machines are much better than midi controllers. I have used almost all daws but mpc software does not look professional.
