Illyana's powers aren't 'game' powers. That place she took Dani to is a hell dimension (called Limbo in the comics) where some serious shit happened to her. It's how she has that sword and can do magic. Her only mutant power is her teleportation. All the rest is her magical powers.

Lockheed is the dragons name...he normally hangs out kitty pryde.

Kitty Pryde gave him that name after she first met him, after Kitty was learning to pilot the X-Men's plane, a modified Lockheed SR-71 'Blackbird', and was attacked by N'Garai demons on Christmas day. In the comics, that is. Later, both Illyana and Kitty could use and share the soul-sword and armour, and Lockheed accepted both of them, a hint as to their relationship as 'soul-mates', which has endured for decades since. Lockheed was later discovered to be an other-dimensional dragon from an alternative Earth, who had come through the same rift in space-time that the demons had used, centred on a standing stone in the forest outside the X-Men's mansion in upper New York State.

Illyana's sword is complicated. In this movie, it's coloured black with gold lines or wires because there was supposed to be another character, Warlock who was a techno-organic (black with gold wires) mutant from another world, which was the place Illyana could reach with her teleportation powers (in this movie). Illyana, when she learned magic while in Limbo (Hell), learned to make a sword from her soul, which cut anything magical (which included Dani's Demon bear). Lockheed the alien dragon and the soul-sword are both sourced from Illyana's close relationship with Kitty Pryde of the X-Men, but this has been distorted by how the movies diverge seriously from the comics from the 1960s onwards (in the movies). Probably because of the loss of the Moira McTaggart character, who actually gathered the New Mutants.

Dani's power is to bring out anyone's fear and make it real...Illyana with the smilie men who were those that sexually abused her as a child until she killed them all,Sam with killing his dad and everyone else,Roberto and his girlfriend that he killed and the wolfgirl with the priest that saw her as a witch and tried to kill her until she killed him first and finally Dani with her demon bear. Dani didn't see her own past that was the doctor's past being raised in a lab that takes mutants and makes them into killers...she was either raised there herself or she was a doctor there not sure. Dani was seeing into her mind that's all.

This movie opens up the distinct possibility (Disney permitting) of further X-Men movies in the future. In the mean time, I suspect Mish's new hair & glasses suggest she's secretly enrolling into Professor Xavier's School for the Gifted herself !

Illyana Rasputina in comics is younger sister of Colossus, her mutation allows her teleportation through the stepping stones which teleport her through the realm of demonic Limbo into anywhere she wants in Multiverse even though past and future, she is the Queen of Limbo and sorceresses supreme of the realm of Limbo, thanks to her vast magical powers she was considered to be a Sorcerer Supreme of Earth,she created a Soul Sword from her own soul that could kill demons souls and destroy their possessions of other people, she has a mystical armour around her arm that extends the more she uses her sword and magic, her armour makes her mind impenetrable even to the most powerful telepaths in Marvel and I like her to ❤

I'd have loved seeing the characters realise Dani's power also creates 'good dreams' or 'heart's desires' as in the comic. I mean Roberto encountering a friendly, willing Illyana version certainly seemed to be that.

This was one move that was stuck in the Fox/Disney merger for quite awhile, and alot of people weren't sure when (or if) it would ever be released. It was also originally meant to introduce all these new characters into their own movie series as well. I's not a great movie, but I did enjoy seeing Magik on screen.

Seriously underrated. They nailed the characters. Lockheed is most certainly a dragon ! Essex is Mr Sinister from the comics. Sunspot was in Days of Future Past fighting in the future alongside Blink, Bishop and Iceman.

About the movie : It had so many problems, the story was never really finished writing, the production had problems too, they couldn't know exactly what they could spend, then COVID, could have been really great ; it is one of the more faithful to the comics (Days of future past and Apocalypse must be the worst) Roberto superhero name is Sunspot, his main power is he absorb sun radiation to become iltra strong and a bit more resistant, he then turns totally black and 5 ft tall ; he develops weak and partial fire powers, flys a bit but that's all, very very limited fire powers Illyana / Magic can open portals on Earth but also go to Limbo, a demonis realm, very complex is that her power includes magic or allowed her to learn magic

'W' stands for 'wolf'. Not quite. The 'M' for 'mutant' branded on faces has been seen in the X-Men films before. But it begins here. 'M' for 'Mutant' or 'W' for 'witch, it's all the same. The French authorities would brand thieves with a 'V' for 'Voleur' or thief. It happened in the US during wild west days too. People being made into animals, basically.

Essex corporation is more than likely run by a mutant who’s been around for quite some time his name is Nathaniel Essex and he is obsessed with genetics. He is known by another name Mr. sinister. He is from the Victorian. In London and was fascinated with the theories of Charles Darwin and evolution. Some people even believe that he was Jack the Ripper. Carried out all sorts of genetic experiments of people of the time. Mr. sinister is fascinated with Scott Summers and Jean Grey he believes their child would be the ultimate mutant. When Jean gray goes missing and everyone think she’s dead Mr. sinister creates a clone of Jean Grey Madeline prior who ends up having a relationship with Scott Summers. They have a child Nathan Christopher Summers. This child’s sister from an alternate timeline travels back in time as an old woman and takes her brother to the future as a baby. Where he will one day grow up and defeat the mutant known as apocalypse. Apocalypse finds out and infects the baby with a techno organic virus. The baby has to use a large mound of its telekinetic power to hold the virus back. Nathan Christopher Summers grows up to be the futuristic soldier and time traveller known as cable. I can tell you about the other characters in the new mutants if you’re interested as the comic books ran for 100 issues. New mutants were to become the next generation of X-Men toward the end of the comic run they formed a group of X-Men led by cable himself and they become X-force.

I'm not going to say too much about the film itself because it is disappointing, Anya carried and saved the entire film. despite the fact that it is presented far too weakly, that barrier means nothing to Magik and this is one of the many elements in the film that brought down Magik's real powers other than the fact that Magik - Illyana Rasputina is my favorite character in both Marvel and DC together. But what a wonderful actress Anya Taylor-joy is. she is the real Magik 😍😍😍

Neither Reverend Craig nor his daughter, Rahne Sinclair, are Catholic, though. US film directors don't seem able to see other Christian denominations as real, for fear the audience will not understand. Rahne and Craig are Scots Presbyterian, one of the 'wee free kirks' (small free churches of Scotland), that represent religious freedom and self-reliance above adherence to a Roman Dogma. Craig should have been a man in a black suit, unkempt, red-bearded and a drunk. He was abusive to Rahne and she didn't kill him, being rescued from him by Moira McTaggart, a doctor who knew Xavier, and helped collect the New Mutants. Decades later, in a comic that has been mostly ignored later, Rahne was forced to kill Craig.

Who on earth is the brain behind the creation of this channel? Larry?? the man himself?? I guess I must be one of the coldest, most serious, insensitive, introvert but funny, rational thinking, perfectionist human beings you can come across (at least in Argentina or 'Argenshit' as I like to call it). But THESE bulgarian girls (and Viki of course) really got me hooked like Mindstone in Loki’s scepter. They are BE-A-U-TI-FUL, adorable, cute, nice, friendly, etc, etc. I’m not very much on Astrology but as Michelle is Virgo and Ellie is Cancer (I love when she grabs Michelle’s arm 😍).... this may be one reason. I’m Capricorn. Btw, that movie is the worst of the entire x-men saga. The CGI, the performances (except from Anya Taylor Joy), localization, and storytelling are horrendous

Raven (The New Teen Titans) was intended to be a female Phantom Stranger, but became her own character later. The New Teen Titans comic exists because The New Mutants comic was such a hit. Marvel and DC have been copying each other for quite a while now. The X-Men are part DC's 1960s The Doom Patrol, and part DC's The Legion of Super-Heroes. The Avengers (Marvel) exist because DC copied their own Justice Society of America by bringing together it's main characters in a team (The Justice League), then Marvel did the same. A Spider-Woman villain called Deathstroke the Terminator (Marvel) became Deathstroke The Terminator (DC) in the New Teen Titans (then later 'Slade' in the animated Teen Titans), then Marvel re-copied him as Taskmaster, and later still he was re-copied as Deadpool (Marvel), first appearing in an issue of New Mutants.

You sure qualify as completists. I refuse to watch this film; Cannonball was my favourite of the New Mutants in the comics - at least initially - and my understanding is that due to the film's budget, they messed with his powers. He can't FLY in this film! What?! No thanks.

Watching the film would be a reality check worth making: Sam flies tethered by a chain. Yet somehow his origin here is killing miners instead of saving them by blasting a tunnel out of the sub-standard mine owned by a member of the Hellfire Club, Donald Pierce.
