I agree that buying some lower weight dumbbells makes more sense than trying to make one set do it all. Going to a higher weight is more important and justifies these kind of prices so much more. Whether it's a lighter weight adjustible pair or just a few pairs of light dumbbells so what? They are cheap. It's going up to the heavy ones that costs real money and space! Also when going light makes it more breakable then I feel even more strongly that it's a mistake! Yes, that's just my opinion... Also I'll say, Powerblocks...it is a simpler mechanism, I worry about some of these newer ones, if they'll hold up over time. It's stood the test of time. You could say it's still the conservative choice.

Thanks for the update! However, I purchased a pair of the old nuobell and I always had a pair of powerblock (pro exp version) and, in the end, I returned the nuobells for one single reason: once you go at higher weights, the dimensions of the dumbbell play a very important role in my opinion. at 32kg (I'm in Europe so we get the Kg version) the nuobells are much longer and hence less manageable than the powerblocks. That was my only gripe with the product and the new ones don't seem to solve that problem as they seem just as long. They are very beautiful, compared to powerblocks which are, objectively, really, really ugly. But muscles don't have eyes :)
