The New OFFSIDE Rule | FOOTBALL WILL CHANGE FOREVER | WENGER LAW

FIFA will test a new offside rule!
With the "Wenger law", the whole body of the opposing attacker will have to completely overtake the last defender for him to be in an illegal position.
If one of the body parts is on the same line, then the attacker will not be offside!
With this new rule, FIFA wants to put an end to millimetric offsides which leads to confusion with parts of the body taken into account and others not (for example the shoulder / upper arm of the opposing attacker on the offside line).
Tests will take place in Sweden in U21, and potentially then in the Netherlands and Italy.
A measure that will benefit attackers and will probably make matches richer in goals. ⚽️

They should only prohibit legs to go beyond offside line bcx legs always comes behind centre of mass in running. This won't give unnecessary advantage to striker but would definitely stretch offside line further back if needed in stretgy

With this new rule, in the next 5-10 years we might end up seeing more "complete" defenders going forward - Pace, agility, dribbling. Imagine the ground they'll need to cover up if the attacker gets a head start. The need for keepers to come out and play a sweeping role will further get highlighted too. But fact of the matter is - this is another step towards the americanisation of the sport. 5-0, 6-0 may become a norm.
