The New Old Bridge -- Halifax Harbour Bridges

In 1999, in what was a massive feat of engineering and planning, the Macdonald Bridge was converted from a two-lane to a three-lane structure spanning Halifax harbour. The "new old bridge" was expanded, and equipped with a new walkway and bicycle lane. Here's an inside look at the intense engineering, intricate planning and hard work that made the monumental Third Lane Project a success.
