Agree, the main reason for the change is subscription. This free version includes ads, you have to subscribe to remove them. I currently find, as per this video, it works with gmail, but fails to connect my Imap account with my ISP, the connection process to try and configure settings is useless. Mail was simple and straightforward.

Totally agree I just check my Gmail through the web browser now instead . The advert is annoying that looks like it's in your inbox too, and they want to sync my Gmail account to the MS Cloud. It's a no from me .

They should have left Mail alone completely. The most popular email client ever. Just for its ease, speed and simplicity. No ads no bloat. You know the saying. If it aint broke don't bloody fix it. But what do they go and do? I cant see the point of getting rid of something that is good to be replaced by something so bad. What kind of idiot mentality is that? They should leave mail as it is and if they think they could do better then invent a new one and let people decided. I'm sick of having this sort of thing forced upon me - it nothing short of a dictatorship. Get a grip Microsoft.

Hey there can you tell me if this new version supports dark mode? I am visually impaired and dark mode is essential for me as I cannot really see anything on a white background. Thanks. ps. The reason I ask is that the setup seems to default to a white background..

At this time is does not support dark mode even if Windows is using dark mode. You can go to the Windows accessibility settings and then to contrast themes and apply one of those which will make it apply to Outlook as well.

Question please.....I saw that along the left side of your screen it appeared you had some sort of other MC products, maybe MS 365. I do not have that, and dont ever want 365 again, as I dont want to pay them EVERY YR for it. I HOPE that this 2024 Outlook that will replace Mail for Windows is a STANDALONE FREE Product! Is that correct? I also have TWO email accounts. Thanks for any response. I'm still on Win 10.

The "New" Outlook will come pre-installed on all windows computers and will be free to use. However, unless you pay Microsoft a monthly fee, they will send you adds disguised as emails.

Ah yes, "New" Outlook. It has such a terrible interface compared to the simplicity and elegance of the old Mail for desktop app. Like come on. I'm honestly considering booting up my old 2012 Macbook Air, because at least Apple knows how to make a useable email client.

I use the outlook that came with office 2019.. and love it. I tried the new outlook several times and absolutely hate it... IMO it has no redeeming value whatsoever.... I’ll use the old outlook until they force me to switch...then I’ll go to thunderbird or ?

There is a Quick Steps feature. "Quick steps are like rules but applied manually per message. With them, you can take multiple actions on a message in one click."

How do you like the built in Windows 11 Mail app? I have a Gmail, an Outlook and a Yahoo account and I am constantly looking for the best solution which would work on PC and on my Android phone. I wanna have a unified Inbox - most importantly. Currently I use AquaMail on my phone and eMClient on my desktop (which has a beta app on Android). I am just thinking about bringing everything under one hood.

I guess it depends on what features you need. If you like the Outlook interface but don't need all the extra features then this should be fine. I like it better than Windows Mail.

The built in desktop app has a much easier to utilize interface, though I do admit it can be barebones but if all you need is a unified email client it works absolutely fantastic. And, you don't need to deal with Microsoft sending you annoying adverts disguised as emails like they do in the "New" Outlook.

The main inbox has all of your email accounts combined and then you can view them individually below that.

Same problem, I have three accounts and activated them all, but I can't find the consolidate/ unify accounts option. It doesn't combine all the 3 accounts inbox like yours did. I saved all to favorites, but it only shows which ever one I set as the main/default.

I have not seen a way to import email from a PST. I think they do that on purpose so you will by the REAL Outlook.

@@OnlineComputerTips it's the email address area for example I cut an email address that I want to send an email to and paste it there It won't allow me to paste it there doesn't even give you anything. I can do the pasting in the body of the email but not actually the email area
