Yeah, I think I'd appreciate the worlds a lot more if they were bigger and felt more alive, like I really like Windenberg for it's size and I wish the vampire and witch world were similar and felt more lived in. Like did we really need a whole new world just for shopping with Get to Work. Or do we really need that empty world? Why not, instead of an empty world, just give us bigger worlds and fewer of 'em. I'd have liked Strangerville to be bigger too, I love the story aspect to it but the world is so cramped that it's like, well I need to find something, oh look it's right over there. Everything is so close together that it's baffling that it even needs a loading screen.

I think the best part about one open world is that you can play every Sim in your household at the same time in different areas of the world. The mother can be on her way to the supermarket, bringing the toddler along in a stroller. The dad simultaneously jogging in the nearby forest. The children around town visiting their friends. All this while the dog is making holes in the dog park and grandma is drinking tea on the porch. Ideally in TS5 we would get a System like NRAAS traveler mod for TS3. Where we can start out in one world but move and visit other worlds through a loading screen. Making it so that a savegame can take place in many different worlds and vacation places, depending on how much power our PC has.

And she’s not the only one. With the Burbs (a bin family in Pleasantview, so not as commonly played with), Jennifer works while John almost always stays home. Then Veronaville is basically a matriarchy and has multiple working women, even has a family with a bunch of kids and the wife works while the husband stays home. It’s not perfect, but I don’t think it’s any worse than any of the other games.

Angela and Lilith are twins, that’s very demanding and while it’s unfortunate that Lilith was neglected, it’s not necessarily surprising. Additionally, Angela will always attack Lilith first when loading the lot, indicating that Angela is effectively the source of their issues and possibly just a bully. Personally, I think the game just wants you to break down their marriage and has no thoughts about what you do next. The Pleasant family is just there to be a dysfunctional family and source of drama, so the marriage would be doomed if she was bacon bringer or homemaker.

It seems like the sentiments come in different degrees, so you'd still get positive or negative sentiments, but they might not have as big of an effect on your mood as the more extreme ones. I think consistency will still amplify the effect, though, since you can have four sentiments at a time toward each person.

The only thing that happened in my game so far: Sims started flirting without me doing anything and got to the point, where I got the "first kiss" interaction. I sent the sim home, because I wanted it to happen on a date but the sims didn't cooperate to stay on a nice spot without running off etc and while I was busy to create a romantic moment, some other dude butted in in their conversation, things got awkward and somehow they nearly lost the romantic bar. It was enough drama for me so far xD

In the Sims 2 (and I think in TS3 too) they had something called “the sim bin” and they would place alternate/additional families who had connections to the sims actually placed in the world but they weren’t in a house. So every pack came with townie families in houses but also additional families with stories not in the world. Get famous kinda tried this with some of the celebrities being placed “not in world” in manage worlds, and I would have liked to see them do this more in TS4. That way people who don’t play with townies or who want room to add their own families still have space to play (since worlds have limited lots) and there is more lore! I like being able to travel and move between all the worlds but I’m so glad they’ve taken your feedback and added more lore because it’s been lacking. The Caliente’s (yes young adult) don’t actually have any relationship with Don inspite of the bio saying they should (His former fiancée in TS2 was Cassandra Goth and she IS a teen in this version).

listen i disable sim culling and my save file is always on the verge of exploding but hey I need that population ya know can't wait to change every destination lot into a residential lot and make more families to fill them up and push my save even closer to the brink of catastrophic failure

Traits are so weird. Like, kleptomaniac is such an impactful trait -- it basically forces you to structure at least part of your sims lives around theft and I LOVE that. I play with it all the time and it's super fun and changes the Sim deeply. But then you have like "skinny," "vegetarian," "lactose intolerant," like babes this doesn't affect the gameplay at all because there are tons of lactose free and vegetarian stuff (as there should be). Where is the struggle?? I want more traits that dramatically change how a Sim acts.

One of the things I loved the most about the Sims 2 is all the lore and the background stories of all the different families. I really hope they'll take more of a Sims 2 take to the next games/updates.

I had played 10 sim days in the pack with a new sim when I watched this video. I went into the other families to see the sentiments and whatnot -- and I guess just because of time, all of the relationships described in this video had decayed to nothing. None of the sims knew anyone outside their own family. I hate how that happens, maybe the relationship should dwindle, but not to NOTHING LIKE YOU NEVER MET THE PERSON!
