actually, the fake peppino reskin makes 100% sense if you watched the weird theories on the internet the first super Mario bros game is chill, BUT making it realistic, Mario becomes a monster that killed the entire mushroom kingdoom just to get the princess back, he brutally killed bowser by drowning him in lava and overall a huge bloodbath happened in the events of the game, all because it had almost no story, almost 0 dialogue, and 8-bit graphics but fake peppino phase 2 background reskin should’ve been all the enemies dead and bloodied
