I have been a part of SC for over 10 years but not really played until 4.0 now I play every day :) I like to watch many new pilot guides over the years and I have to say this is one of the best, well presented and edited and I even learnt a thing or two.

Great guide; they get better with each iteration. A tiny critique, if I may, to help better the next new player guide, I'd suggest changing the format to 16:9 as per YT recommendation guidelines, to give more clarity for newer players that use their tabs and mobile phones to consume media (guilty as well, and for the record I used to record my sim-racing triples, and that was the most common feedback complaint I'd get). Also, as I watched this guide with my young nephew, that's never played SC before, he couldn't understand some of the expressions and lingo used, e.g. "what's an LZ?", "is pancake a mode?" etc... I blame it on his Irish inheritance, almost a foreigner to the English language ;-)

Great guide as always. With the new increased backpack sizes, you can fit rifles and smgs, and armor pieces (up to sets) into them now, but once I have my preferred weapon(s) stockpiled, I’m generally grabbing optics for selling.

It's worth pointing out that the tutorial now pays 40k aUEC at the end. Enough starting cash to either kit yourself out for running merc contracts or a solid start at the funds needed to rent a Cutty and a ROC.

Is the trespassing bug still a thing at say CRU-L1? my Vulture got killed there and not sure if my UI was messed up but i did not see who was attacking me but i assume it was players having "fun" well no cargo to steal so well done to them, and the modules i doubt pay that much all standard. And what is up with the speed limiter these days, it seems to work bit randomly depending on ship and mode you are in, damn confusing when you fly into the hangar at a 100 ms :) Sadly other people are often the reason many games are not fun, but yes i guess i could join our corp in SC for at least know cool people :) Thanks for another great and updated guide, keep up the good work, it is quite helpful even for me that has played a fair bit but then did other things for a few patches.

Most importantly, if you are going into an elevator with multiple people... don't be that guy who uses sprint to run into the elevator when there are already people inside and then also act like total moron by claiming the spot to sent the damn elevator off... The impatience a lot of these citizens have is astounding!

Did you know? The Titan in the current 4.0 preview does not have a propulsion drive, meaning you cannot jump between pyro & stanton?

I found the pyro jump a tad more difficult, mostly in that flying a Zeus, it's a tad more difficult to manouver. Can hardly imagine doing this with something like a Reclaimer.

12:38 here's my Mustang Alpha, but I thought it was MrsGuns Mustang. How are you playing version 4? I can only play v4 on the PTU, no option to upgrade live.

@@kevinsamuels7567 that is a fair point, but I needed to get my FMJ reference in 😂 4.0 is currently kind of live, it’s still on the PTU branch but it’s essentially a soft launch with progress set to carry into true live as long as there’s no significant need to reset (there was a chairman’s letter just before new year).

from my experience it's way more stable overall but when alot of players, like 50+ are on the same planet/station it's gets laggy since the dedicated servershard for that area can't handle the load yet.

Yes the game has been less laggy, unless the server is having a nervous breakdown. Which it has been doing over the holidays as there was no one around.
