So this was originally meant to be 30 tips & tricks, then it became 40, I had to finally close the door at 50! I hope these little hints will help you out in a game with a steep learning curve - let me know any more you can think of and I'll start working on the next vid!

For tip 7, if you have a planetary mission that doesn't have a QT marker, you can jump to another QT that's *behind* the location and drop out of QT by pressing U to get much closer to the target location than you would by just QTing to the closest marker

One of the loot goblin tips im not sure if i missed it but when looting say an 890 mission or missions with local inventory go to a body and drag the undersuit to the local inventory it takes everything attached to it for much faster gear looting

But the same rule applies for outposts say for delivery missions or the kovalax missions when you loot those things and they have the landing pad areas in the armistice zones they do have a local inventory so you can loot everything into the local inventory while you're delivering boxes and then throw it directly into your ships inventory

Bunkers - if bugs dont scare you away there are some tips: 1) the obvious: learn to distinguish between guard and baddies. Since recent patches, CIG decided to give both the same type of armor meaning in bad lighting condition you should not shoot as you cannot tell if this is a guard or not as the markers are just bugged (marker only tell that a NPC is a guard, missing marker has no meaning) 2) use suppressors. Always. It is well worth the time to aquire them (use cstone for finding a shop that sells the needed size). Suppressors will hide your position to NPCs, especially if you are far away. Useful on sidearms too. 3) Snipers can help you for 2 reasons: a better scope might make you see more details to make a better decision between friend or foe. And with a suppressor they mean dead to NPC out of nowhere (very unlikely that NPC register you current position if they get hit by sniper with suppressor) 4) dont use "too big" scopes like 8x or even 16x before trying smaller ones. They are difficult to handle in bunkers, you may want to use a smaller one 4x so you see more of your surroundings when looking thru the scope. So you trade the details a better scope gives you with the ability to see NPC comming to you from the side). 5) sniper becomes a problem if NPC manage to get near to you or you run into them. The solution for this is a side arm. Chose high alpha value ones (coda or salvo are very good at this. Salvo has a special group attack, look it up). Dont relay on headshots with side arms but learn to melee attack with you sidearm (look for firearm attack in keybind "all on foot") 6) if you are a beginner, A03 / Arrowhead snipers are best as they trade smaller alpha damage for higher cap size (which is perfect for bunkers which isnt really long distance)

Laser pointers are helpful in avoiding friendly fire. They let you know where your teammates are aiming and vice versa.

@@LoudGuns definitely, flares are really good for Xeno Threat when boarding the Starfarers. Lighting 3 really messes with some cockpit views but that’s easy to avoid

When leaving a hanger wait about 10 seconds or so for the door to finish opening. There's a great deal of lag between the animation of the door opening and the hit box going away and if you jump the gun you'll slam into an invisible hanger door. You need chest armor to equip a backpack which you need to transfer small items around between locations. Heavy armor can use all types of backpack sizes but medium and light can only carry their perspective rated backpacks. Inventory that is too large to carry such as ship parts are stored where you bought them unless you put them on your ship. I once bought a quantum drive then jumped to another location only to have to turn back to get my new drive. To apply ship upgrades you press F1, then go to the hanger tab near the bottom left, then select the parts you want to swap out. (don't forget to press the "apply and save" button after selecting new parts or everything will revert when you close the tab). Your ship needs to be stored in a hanger wherever you bought the part(s) but you can use the hanger terminal to move ships around if you can't be bothered to fly them there yourself.

For tutorials, you should refrain from using short names like "New Bab" for New Babage and use the full names instead for new players' sake. They will catch on in-game later. Using in-game slang in a tutorial will only confuse a new player because they are not familiar enough with the places and terminology. For instance, you listed off the 3 main places but did not show each respective place while naming them off for visual ques. Visual ques would help them make informed choices of where they want to start out.

TIP 1: To put on/off the helmet, I recommend assigning a key in the "ON FOOT" settings, it's faster if you just have to press a button in a panic instead of clicking through the PIT menu TIP: " button H " is not assigned in FPS mode and goes with " H " elmet TIP 2 : for those in a hurry..... Getting out of the pilot's seat is faster if you turn off the "250ms delay" in the settings....! it´s a NOW useless setting from times before 3.7, it´s no longer needed

@@LoudGuns It's not a useless setting. The 250ms delay is there to keep you from fat-fingering that key while in combat. The 8 or 10 seconds you spend in the animation getting out of your seat and back in, could be less time than a hostile player or npc needs to vaporize you and your ship ;)

16:38 My addition to #24 is to have a cheap dedicated ship to get you back where you were in case you die. The starter ship is handy for that, so at least it will have some use. When you get back home, you can just claim your starter ship and it will be ready for next time. This is why I haven't melted my Aurora.

L Guns great video. One I am not crazy about but there are times when ALT F4 will save you from a CIG bug or impossible scenario. For example: an elevator on Grim Hex dropped me between floors. Alt F4 was the only way to get out and save my gear.

Another pro tip to get the larger SCU boxes. Place a larger size missile in the inventory of the ship. They are cheap and get the same result without needing to buy expensive armor.

Yeah there’s a few like neutron repeaters and mass drivers where there’s literally one instance of it and - let’s face it - they’re only slightly different from laser repeaters and cannons. Had to try and focus to keep the info as direct as I could.

Bonus BONUS tip for the streamers, you can use stream decks as macro's for certain things. I use it mostly for in flight. Call ATC, Gear up/down, headlights on/off, cruise on/off, open all doors/close. Just about anything that could be a basic keybind you use can be put on there.

Not sure if it was already possible back 1 year ago, but you can now buy the StorAll containers in the cargo center of space stations (those that have a cargo center instead of refinery). So no need to destroy a ship anymore to get these containers.

For a free set of armor and a weapon fly to any of the major space stations that have security scanning ships and park right up close to the station with your nose facing it. After some time a ship should come to scan you. When this happens slowly start so spin nose over tail which will cause the security ship to move to stay aligned which causing it to smack into the station and blow up. Once this happens you can EVA to the wreck and find the body of the pilot and loot it. Due to the close proximity to the station while in the loot menu you can select the "Local" tab and drag the pilots undersuit into the local inventory to take everything at once. Just remember to put on the gear you'll need to be either on the station or standing in your ship so you don't suffocate. My recommendation is Everus Harbor as the security pilots wear medium armor and come with a Gallant rifle and a sidearm.

As an ex military technical instructor I found the presentation too fast and not taking time to emphasise the key points e.g. key presses and not allowing time to allow the info to sink in. Regarding the "Basic Kit" tip, I go one step further, I fill each of the backpacks in my station inventory with the other items that fit. Medpens, ammo, food/drink, multitool (with tractor attachment already added) and a helmet. Then, when I need to get going, i can grab the armor, gun, and backpack. While i'm waiting for ship spawn, I can equip all the bits straight from the backpack, and not worry about forgetting to grab something.

This is easiest done by standing in a ship in the hangar, you can pull an empty backpack from the ship inventory, fill it, and put it into station inventory, no confusion around which ones I've already put things into.

4:10 - A little confused on rebinding 'default call ATC' button of holding N (which is autoland, and I sometimes use), so just 'calling ATC'? I'd love to be able to call ATC without using a ship button or do F11 and then 'Friends' and then call the local ATC, but I don't see how rebinding holding N (which just makes me autoland when I'm close enough to a pad) accomplishes that? Does that mean if I'm out in space, really far away from a pad, I can hold 'N' and that contacts ATC for landing?

I’m sorry I think I got this one slightly wrong - they added a call ATC button without a key bind assigned around 3.16 then in 3.17 assigned it to alt+N (I never remember this right because I’d already assigned it to F3). It’s different to autoland (it just does the same job as the mfd or F11 call) and gets you a landing spot.

Me and my friends hang lit glow sticks on our armour to reduce friendly fire incidents vs npcs for easy cheap solution that’s always on even if you don’t have a gun. Readily found through the verse for free if you don’t mind which colour you have on

When at Klescher always loot any bodies you come across and open their backpack (right click and open in loot menu) because they can be carrying ore that you can take and sell to reduce your sentence. Also this may be a bug but another inmate once sneaked out of Klescher by following me into the elevator when I gained my freedom. He still had 2 hours to serve but got out with his CS cleared.

10:34 *Tip 13* While yes, Cruz fills both thirst and hunger, it fills both less so than water would fill thirst and actual food will fill hunger, costs more, and doesn't give you the "hydrating" buff. The majority of places will carry water bottles and some form of real food. Get some of those instead and you won't require to drink quite so often as with Cruz. Cruz is however a great lootable substitution in a pinch. 10:58 *Tip 14* Good to have in a pinch, but using this method will cause an almost immediate onset of thirst again. If you have the choice, go for water and water melons as food on top.

Yeah I believe "in a pinch" is the term I used :D Tbh I know that Cruz is not 100% the most efficient for maintaining stats but the convenience of having just one thing that can be bought and looted at many locations and you can buy stacks of directly into your backpack from terminals outweight having to drink 10 times for every 9.

@@LoudGuns I totally get that and the points I made are really just about providing some slightly more insight into what citizens will experience. I do think however that if you are predominantly in space rather than switching between flying and FPS, having the extended time from the hydrating effect of water until you need something to drink again can be a real benefit. When I grind bounties with a friend in our Hurricane it can take a while before we get back to a station, and having filled up to the brim with water rather than something that's hyper metabolic or something has been helpful for extending the time out in the black.

This may or may not help. 1st delete %localappdata%\starcitizen And User These can be found easily. After that when you Launch from RSI launcher not actually join a PU just the RSI launcher..open your setting. Turn off Film Grain, Motion Blur. SET to low Scattered and Tes. Turn down the chromatic abberation...or whatever it's called...you will see it. Don't worry about Quality...High or ultra high will be fine left. Once that is completed try to join PU. Open console, using the ` key. Same as most PC games..most. watch the commands being rolled out. If you get more then 3 lines of waiting command...which is much more than just the word waiting...you will know it when you see it. It says and uses the words waiting...anyhow if it gets to 3 times ..type quit. After that you will go back to RSI launcher and launch again. From there try again. Change location before. I usually use EU. But I want to clarify the main thing that helped me from getting kicked or 30ked was my end...Graphic setting, the game is not optimized and unless you have a power house and actually know how to use that power house you will most likely have issues playing. Type in console r_displayinfo 3 Once the info pops up in right hand upper corner, look at the value of GPU memory. If it is more than 80% of your memory available or even close this will cause you all kinds of issues over and over. So getting rid of unnecessary mem usage...IE all those setting can help. I have the old ROG Strix Geforce 2080ti by asus. My GPU has 11GB or mem. I also have 32Gbs of ram for CPU which is the i7 7800 something, can't remember off hand. Basically it is a 8 core cpu that is default at 3.6ghz, but OC to 4.3ghz per core. My PC has never had issues running any other game, but damn if SC doesn't punch me right in the noots 😂. Anyhow I hope that helps you. It helped me and now I am playing, haven't had any catastrophic issues since and stay in the 50 to 70 fps now. Everywhere

@@extremepsych The issue was the 30018 or whatever error, i couldn't login until the 3.18.1 patch rolled out. It's working now, but waiting for 3.18.2 to fix some of the bugs like the beds or pilot seats killing you. I guess its just the endless waiting game for the next patch and next wipe with this game. xD

yes, when removing your helmet, don't forget to put it back on BEFORE you leave...As a noob, did a few early missions, turned up and then realised my helmet was still back in local inventory..I now keep a spare in my ship and always take my helmet off and store in my backpack so it's never far away. Same with guns, kit up before you leave, nothing worse than walking into a bunker and realising you're defenceless.
