Great points! I haven't played a Pokémon videogame since Yellow or collected a card since Jungle set released, but 151 got me back into things heavily. I have multiple friends and co-workers around the same ago who are also getting back into it mostly because of 151 as well.

@@MimikBrew the scary thing is, dumping all this money into 151 and yet younger generations are just not as into it, in 20 years the average pokemon card collector will be 55. im 34 when i was a kid all the cards shops were filled with kids, now its just the same kids that are 30+ i recently got back into pokemon because the kids wanted some, went to a card shop and its 30+ year old gambling addicted anime fans. ill stick to grocery store purchases from now

Nobody said a peep about those new costco tin deals aka "new product" with those starter holo foil's. This got announced and all of a sudden it's a re print? We have been getting steady product pumped through Walmart, best buy, game stop, costco, etc.. Everyone is losing their heads about this new product. It will be swallowed immediately just like every single 151 product, and continue to go up. Will this lower the prices momentarily? Sure. Will it sky rocket back up? Absolutely.

Those tins arent/weren’t available nationally. Not yet atleast. I can’t get my hands on ANY from Costco. Not in my state. GameStop isn’t selling in my area either, it’s starting to piss me off. Even if I see stuff in stock, nobody’s shipping and it’s local pick up only and there’s NEVER any in stock in my area.

Pokémon is insanely popular that I’m impressed with the logistics of the company to keep stock like they do. Like One Piece hardly in stock in my area. Granted many issues but it’s derpy out there.

151 got me back to Pokemon TCG. Got my english master set even before the current hype, so whether it crash or not, I got my collection during when the packs were at their msrp price. My only regret, I did not keep a sealed UPC (that was my first pokemon anything in years). I kept 1 pack sealed, and 1 booster bundle sealed, to go with my singles collection. I am now starting my 151 Japanese set (already secured all 18 AR and all 12 FA). Thinking whether to wait until January to buy the 6 SAR, because there will be a Japanese 151 reprint in December, and I am visiting Japan for the third time in January. You can bet the singles will be all over the hobby shops at Akihabara, especially in Hareruya. The last time i was there, I bought a lot of cards near the Namba station in Osaka, where there are over 20 shops in the immediate vicinity of the train station.

I would buy them when you are there. Should be good timing. I master setted 151 basically in 1 afternoon at a card show last year using only slab trade in credit via slabs that weren’t selling on my eBay store. 💪

Bro! You are so right! February release! That means there will still be a supply problem. I think a lot of YT guys are trying to get people to sell to buy. The singles will go up again. The OG Pokemon connects better than the other generations. 151 is going to the moon before then. 20 cards are over $100 in PSA 10 now! How many other sets not named ESkies has that?

Great video - Derpykyu rules! The 151 single card values should stay strong, but to pretend Pokemon is not going to print 151 the same amount as Shining Fates and CZ, is only wishful "investor" thinking. We will more than likely see 151 products released throughout next year and maybe even into 2026 (probably 2 massive reprints). Not saying 151 is not a good investment, but everyone should try to wait for future unannounced Sams and Costco 151 collections that will come out next year.

When I saw this news break earlier I thought the same thing. Like one box that comes out in 4 months from now is going to matter is just ridiculous to me. What about the next 4 months. Not enough product now either. Price isn't going to magically just go down and get easier to find without multiple reprints. This is nothing and will get bought up in one day. who knows how this will be distributed too. It may not even be sold at retail price.
