It's been a week or so since I shot mine and they haven't turned sepia yet either, but I don't want to commit to anything yet. Gotta give it a few months lol. Most of mine were locked away in binders, seeing no light at all. And they still browned. So idk!! Thanks for comparing, I was wondering about the monochrome frames vs the regular frames

For repairmen, there's also The Instantcameraguy in Australia. He has a KZbin channel where he shows his repair process. He also does iType conversions.
@JustAnotherChris5 ай бұрын
Yeah I have heard of him. If only he wasn’t in Australia. Hard to get people to send stuff mostly due to the cost and time. I have seen his itype mod. I still prefer Dennis’s. His looks interesting though

i just came down to the comments to say (again) that the production quality of your show is top notch and that your intro alone should be the thing getting you tons of subs. it will come soon - especially if there's another big boom in popularity of Polaroid shooters soon.

Thank you that means a lot!

I'm glad they're fixing the formula. I shot a pack of black and white shortly after I first got my now+. I took some pics inside and they look great, but the ones I took outside later in the day are certainly a creamier color.
@pierredubois5851Ай бұрын
Hey Chris, Really loving the new formula. I noticed that in most of your black and white pictures you had white dots at the top corners. Do you have any idea why? Is it because maybe the black and white chemistry is more light sensitive?

Nice video bro, i think i prefer color films but this new one look great. I was finally able to buy my first polaroid, a Onestep2 Strander things edition. I have a question I see blurry in the viewfinder, is this normal? Do I have to do something to the viewfinder?

So far the only black and whites I've shot that haven't went brown at the top are the monochrome framed ones I got

Can we get a video on the new Instax Mini SE? Or is this just another reskinned 12 with no selfie mirror?
@JustAnotherChris5 ай бұрын
It’s something I’m looking into 👀

A quick google search shows that it seems they brought back the exposure control of the Mini 9 that was removed in lieu of the selfie zoom feature added to the 11, can't imagine there's anything else different about it

How does the new b&w film work with an orange or red filter? Instax mono film reacts very poorly--lowering the contrast and turning the photo muddy.

I've had a Sonar SE for a while and shot occasionally until Impossible went out of business and Polaroid has been out-of-stock since Dec-2023. Any news on when new film will hit the pipeline?

Film for polaroid cameras can be bought from Amazon,target,wal mart,Best Buy and Polaroids website.

Hi, Chris. I’m a huge fan of your channel. Thank you for all that you do. Quick Question: Did I imagine this or did you mention in a video that you sometimes make a cut in Polaroid frames to facilitate the drying process? I am definitely seeing orange at the top of a bunch of my b&w (new emulsion) shots - that’s why I’m asking. If this wasn’t a figment of my imagination, would you mind explaining the process (i.e., where you make the cut)? Thanks, Chris! Regards, Robin

Theres a little sponge strip on at the top on the back of the photo that’s what I was talking about.

I have been bothered by a question for quite some time. Can Polaroid black and white films, preserve their colors for a long time without fading? I hope that the colors in my photos won't fade away, just like the memories they capture.
@JustAnotherChris5 ай бұрын
Haven’t seen that happen yet. I have photos from 5 years ago and they look great!

@JustAnotherChris5 күн бұрын
@eatenbyopium not anymore. It’s all the same. Sx70 film is technically 600 film now. Just with a built in ND filter

Thanks for another cool video - and the old vs. new comparisons. Some of the black-and-whites shot in daylight have what appear to be light leaks or roller artifacts, while the night exposures don't. Is this one of those frog-tongue issues or a mechanical, chemical-spread problem?
@JustAnotherChris5 ай бұрын
Just pack issue. I had to cut that part of the video but it’s not on all photos

Another good one. Sepia tone not sapia. Just saying. As You I like history lessons like the one you provided about the plane and cafe. At Polacon I would have asked the rep why the colors still suck and not great like Instax. And why did you go to an 8 pack from a 10 pack. Instax Black and white is amazing compared to Polaroid. And you should interview actor Jason Lee who just opened up a film camera store in California.

Well I have good news for you. I was looking back on some pics taken with the new black and white film. The pics were taken about 2 weeks ago. And yes they have browned. I store mine in the little boxes from the polaroid website. They never see the light of day.
