Thank you for your wonderful cultural educational channel mrs Kathleen. Actually we in Arabic countries study at schools social studies including geography and history only since grade four . I read about sociology history in USA it’s began in 1890s Lester Frank ward was one of four American founders of sociology . Jane Addams was American activist, sociologist, philosopher. She won Nobel prize in peace and freedom. She also co founded hull house settlement in Chicago , Illinois. Studying of social studies in American schools including history, geography, economic, financial, civics and government, anthropology. It’s very interesting reading when I read about elementary schools social studies curriculum began since 2 grade teaching kids human needs for survival such as food , clothes, shelter, cultural holidays . 3 grade teach kids how to use geographic tools such as maps , Altas to collect data about earth surface, climate, region of usa , local states , federal laws . Grade 4 taking students to road trips with characters such as mom , dad , Austin , gabby to explore North America, European exploration. Learn how to use map , historical letters. 5 th grade preparing kids for middle school, teaching them about history, geography, civics , economic, USA history, Ancient Greece, role of government, economic. Subjects such as China dynasty, movement to end slavery, women rights, public policy. I hope all people understand importance of internet as great educational tool not for amusement only .
