It’s still pie in the sky, but with battery technology getting better every day by 2026 they should achieve it 🙏

It is. I’m very intrigued with this bike. My money was going to go on the new Classic, but too heavy, same old crap rear shocks as the Meteor 650 and a high seat height. I will wait for the flea by the looks of things 🙏

I love the connection to the WW2 bike story and it even looks similar. Not sure why its delayed to 2026 but thats only 14 moths away. Maybe technology and battery costs will be lower by then. I"m not seeing a lot of diversity and break out innovations with other manufacturers compared to Royal Enfield. This is a company on the move and I embrace their efforts. Don"t expect a cheap electric bike but let"s hope for a reasonable price.
@Teacher-T-Thailand15 күн бұрын
Yeah, it’s odd to do a press launch, and then delay the launch. I think they are getting a feel on interest. Pointless ordering batteries you don’t need. But cost is very critical to the success. Like you say, batteries hopefully better and cheaper by 2026 🙏

First time Royal with a belt drive
@Teacher-T-Thailand17 күн бұрын
Mmmm. Not really. I have a belt on my Suoer Meteor 650. But official RE belt possibly. It’s the way forward 🙏
@MangoCitizen12 күн бұрын
Any advantages with the belt drive?
@Teacher-T-Thailand12 күн бұрын
@@MangoCitizen yes many. You will notice the smoothness of power transfer. No more pillion head butting your helmet between gear changes. No oiling. No mess. No maintenance. And shock last at least 4 times longer than a chain and sprocket set. It’s all pluses, which is why Indian and Harley Davidson use them 🙏
@MangoCitizen11 күн бұрын
@@Teacher-T-Thailand I am not sure if belt lasts more than chain, at least not in the mountains. Yes the shocks during gear changes may be reduced but chain drive provides instantaneous torque, which smooth belt drive may not give.

The electric car market is booming here at the moment in Thailand. No real option to by a road legal electric motorbike at the moment apart from the very expensive HD. It could be a winner. I hope so 🙏

Simple answer Yes and Yes. It would not replace my 350 Classic but add a fun toy to the garage. Price is key.
@Teacher-T-Thailand17 күн бұрын
Yep, never sell that Classic. But I’m sure electric offers a different thrill. I’m eager to try. 🙏
@davidskaggs991417 күн бұрын
I think an electric bike as a short range commuter is super practical. But charge time and range have been the achilles heel for other brands as well as $$$ and dealer networks. Zero bikes are the pioneers here in the USA but sales are flat here in Texas due to the aforementioned. If Royal Enfield can solve price and range, I think they have a shot because the design looks amazing. Note Zero also has a dirt bike "adventure" model that Itchy Boots rode on one of her Africa trips.
@Teacher-T-Thailand17 күн бұрын
I’ve had my eyes on Zero for a while. But the price didn’t warrant the economy or range. By 2026 hopefully RE have it mastered. 🙏
@philedwards267917 күн бұрын
Not for me. The sound of the bike is all part of the motorcycling experience. Although I must say it's one of the best looking electric bikes I've seen so far.

This bike needs to be priced right to sell. I don’t have a problem with electric vehicles they can be a good alternative to an ice vehicle but the numbers have to work. If I can buy and run a conventional ice motorcycle for 10 years before breaking even on running an electric one I am not going to do it and that is before you get into the questions about range. This bike has similar performance to my 350 meteor on paper and you can buy a meteor for about £4k (£3.5k for a HNTR) so this bike cannot cost more than £7k to make sense to buy one.
@Teacher-T-Thailand17 күн бұрын
Absolutely spot on. Apart from I would hope the price would be even lower than that, Less materials. The only thing that really costs are the batteries Let’s hope technology makes them better and cheaper by 2026 🙏

Have they launched the electric bikes? That's interesting, with no official performance figures, range or price announced. "expected" figures are just someones guesses. How can you say it has been launched when they won't actually be making them for another 2 years?

I think this EV proposition is just to make buzz. To be honest EV motorcycle market is harder than ICE motorcycle market. On the one hand you have an avalanche of crappy Chinese bikes (with some exceptions) and the other hand you have Maeving and similar. I was expecting RE will make something in the style of the classic bike.
