The Himalayan is the first RE with upside down forks, and then we see last year's 650 Super Meteor as an example of a bike with upside down forks. Very funny. As far as the Himalayan goes, it has basically a Pulsar Dominar 400 (373cc) engine which is liquid cooled, 4 valve, and 40 hp. The upside down forks are not really mud and dirt friendly. They are street use friendly. So the new Himmy has a street bike engine, and street bike forks on an off road looking frame. Kind of like the V-Strom and Versys. It should be very popular with the occasional gravel road people who want to imagine they are off road explorers. I ride a 2021 Himalayan in the South American Andes and needed a Willy's on two wheels that was capable of climbing steep secondary roads while carrying two people and a full load. My black bike is normally covered in brown mud and dirt even though I hose it down after every ride. I found a 650 V-Strom struggling to get up a steep 45 degree incline the other day. It kept stalling because the torque was too high in the power band. I chugged up past him with no problem and felt vindicated for all the V-Stroms that blow by me on the highway. Why did this happen? because the 411 LS or Long Stroke has about 8 HP at 2000 rpm where the Ninja 400 short stroke has under 2 hp at the same 2000 rpm. So will I be able to outperform the new Himalayan short stroke on the Highway? No. Will I outperform it on rugged terrain, most likely if it is in conditions that require slow power. I appreciate the 411LS for what it is and have no plans on replacing it for a street bike.

@@BikerTorque Understand, I am not one to criticize a person who is actually out there creating content, I just thought it was a funny and ironic blooper. But the most important part is that people really do not understand why the 411 tractors and why it is so slow on the highway. That is until you do a comparison between the 411LS and Ninja 400 dynos. Then it becomes clear where the strengths of the bike were engineered. It runs 8hp just above idle where the Ninja short stroke is somewhere below 2hp. The only physical difference between a 400 superbike and the same size cruiser is smaller carbs and cams. So the new Himmy short stroke will be very weak at low rpm. That means it will need to be ridden hard and fast off road. It will be much more demanding and less relaxing. I have never seen a creator look at the Himmy from an engineering perspective.

@@danielben-avraham1539 I couldn’t agree more to you man. Low end torque would be somewhere compromised and its off-roading capabilities would be reduced. I don’t know about your country but here in India RE has a good market cap and it’s main competition in this segment is ktm 390 adv. Hence RE is moving towards these changes
@danielben-avraham1539
@danielben-avraham1539 Жыл бұрын
@@sakshamteji6115Here in Colombia the biggest portion of the dual sport market segment seems to be the AKT TTR125, TT200, and the Hero XPulse 200. So the Himalayan 411 is generally looked upon as being a big bike. But on the highway I still get passed by the large displacement adventure bikes but even more painful is getting passed by the 200cc bikes. But when I think of upgrading to a 250 V-Strom, I think of losing the low-end torque, and the ability to tractor through steep inclines and nasty off road conditions. So I follow On Two Wheels Ben channel and Ben helps me keep my bike running in top-notch form. I will certainly try the new 452 when it comes out, but with the difference in price in the new motorcycles, if I wanted 40 horsepower, it might be just cheaper to put the big bore upgrade on mine, with the high performance cam, powertronic CPU, exhaust and intake upgrades. But then I will probably end up spending a lot more on gasoline so I'll just leave it the way it is. It might be slow but it's incredibly fuel efficient. The 411 version was definitely designed for the Indian public, for me the seat is far too low and I hit my knees on the tank and bars, but I really appreciate the torque and fuel efficiency of the 411 long stroke engine that you guys in India call the mule. Regardless of the changes I'm really happy to see Royal Enfield India becoming a major player on the world motorcycle market. You guys should be proud for sure.

So, the rumoured specs are 196 kg kerb weight, 200 mm suspension travel front and rear, 230-240 mm ground clearance, front fork from Showa, 17-litre fuel tank and 40-odd Newton-metres of torque around 5500 rpm. Also, if you look at some of the newer leaked photos, you will it in black with gold rims and two variants in grey. One pic shows a variant with tubeless wire wheels. Everyone loves to praise RE...well, I do too...but, a few years ago when all this started, I was dismayed by the power numbers. As far as western sales are concerned, they missed the boat. The first bike I ever bought was.'75 450 Honda twin scrambler. It was highway capable with a passenger and would do 100 mph ind. It had 40 hp. So I'm excited about the new Himi, will they do the Scram the same? Cheers John in Missouri.

Showa front USDs. Bolt on rear subframe so in case of a crash, just fhe rear can be replaced. Rumoured to be 196 kgs. 40 bhp Tubeless spoke wheels as an accesory. I have ridden in the himalayas and trust me the lighter the motorcycle the better. The roads are good but when there arent any tarmac its tough and due to the altitude, handling heavy bikes is a pain in the ass. A 180-200 kg bike is the maximum id ever need or will use. I see people tak8ng the bmw 1250 or the Tigers and as long as theyre upright, thwyre good but if they fall lifting them up is a nightmare and will take your breath away.

What we get here, are this 'Biker Torque' outfit that appears to be from Sydney, Australia. A place I have recently noticed that the Authorities are strongly advising those of a certain faith to KEEP OFF THE STREETS and at the same time are ALLOWING certain threatening types to walk about in large numbers calling for the 'killing' of those that they intensely dislike, they hate them in fact. Those victimised folk amongst the Sydney Community that some may have had enough of this malarkey from decades gone past, there just trying to live a 'life'. (Continued) So far then NOT a decent review of this new RE motorcycle, even RE's own marketing 452 Himalayan video is just a collection of about 0.2 secs of images, often times of quite differing sort of images, with about 500 of these different images spread over the span of less than 2mins running time. All FLICKERING up, all over the place. Nothing much being able to be comprehended. All a part of the Flick Flick Flickering 'garbage', (a more polite use of a word I had best not use here). TV adverts, TV programs, Movies, even YT videos with this WORTHLESS 'fast action' video shooting. Trendy, though visually DISTURBING. Just visual gimmickry, trying to disguise and to make up for the lack of content and actual filmography SKILLS they possess. All gimmick & with no great substance concerning the content. A throw away nif-naf video by Royal Enfield, who as said couldn't even 'break' the 2mins length. Just why bother at that long? I have broken wind longer than that!, even being able to 'whistle' a tune, (only it isn't quite whistling is it). A skilful ability in fact, being able to estimate the wind available in storage to perform the task, and working out the best tune to utilise the full contents. Getting the tune note perfect, and getting each & every every note out just in time. I could have become a professional on a stage or getting on TV at it in my day, but instead decided to carry on in a humble career of Hard Manual Warehouse Labouring. Humping my guts out in both cases!. eh! Never mind then. I would have thought that by now this dynamic duo with all their videos produced could be producing at least what is advertised 'on the tin', NOT some smörgåsbord of Motorcycle content, thrown in just all over the place. Mind you this 'Biker Torque' do make an effort, though how are 15 sec & 12 sec videos I see of theirs 'an effort'. BLIMEY YT content makers, nothing less than about 10 mins please!!!. AS watching YT on a smart TV usually incurs a section of ADVERTS that YT want to condition us with before the content is shown. So what is the gig then?, 2 different adverts then the 15 sec lack of content video, then 2 more adverts followed by an even shorter 12 sec almost devoid of content clip.
