When you and your family have been powerless and in poverty for years and somebody offers you a new life surely you'll do anything for that opportunity if you are someone who aspires to lead a more ambitious lifestyle. I make no excuse for the wide spread corruption in Africa but lets place the blame where the blame should be placed (The West and its Allies)

I agree. The competition here is between the US and China, African countries are not winning. As an African who believes its out turn to lead our countries better than the former generation, we have to lead with reason and logic. We are watching greedy leaders stealing and complacency is a disease killing us slowly!!!...it drives me crazy to see how China is benefiting as it strives to be a super power. This is modern day colonialism and we have to decolonize. We have to self actualize as a continent and stand up for ourselves. We do not need saviors anymore! If China wants to have projects in Kenya, they need to hire Africans and they need to leave!..If US organizations are going to be housed in Kenya, they should hire locals first...#DECOLONIZE AFRICA!...

Africa needs to get everyone out like China did all those years so it can become strong on its own.
@MyDubsteb8 жыл бұрын
That could work, but China did not become strong totally on its own. they also had soviet help and imported most of the technology from developed countries. China is much further because they implemented a two child policy. The fertility rate dropped from 6 in 1970 to 2 in 1993. This way they could invest all their resources in their children, who could than become much more productive than their parents. Unfortunately most African countries dont invest in their human capital that much. Probably because its difficult with a fertility rate that is too high. But some African countries do this. Morocco, Tunisia, Mauritius and Botswana all have a fertility rate around world average. Rwanda, Kenya and Ethiopia are also rapidly developing because of the declining fertility rate of 4 and still declining.
@purpleglitter95965 жыл бұрын
@@MyDubsteb And now we see that 2 child policy is leaving them without a replacement population and way too many males. China screwed up royally.
@MyDubsteb5 жыл бұрын
@@purpleglitter9596 Yes but that is due to cultural preference for boys and one child policy, which was indeed the cause for this. If the average is 2 children, then there is a replacement population and no overpopulation like in the past in China and the rest of the world and now in some African countries.

China did not simply get strong after Mao having gotten everyone out. In fact, tens of millions of Chinese people died due to starvation and political terror under Mao’s rule. China is not just dominating Africa, China is dominating the world. Ask the Americans how much of their debt is owned by the Chinese? Ask the Americans how many of their factories had to shut down business and relocate operations to China, to explore their cheap labor and gigantic consumer market? Ask the Portuguese and the Italians how many of their excellent shoe and clothing factories had to close as a result of trade with China? In order to bring balance world leaders should draft better trade regulations. Africa used to have limited options when it came to trade and development partners especially during the time when former colonial masters were controlling most or all means of production. China is offering a better alternative than that which Europe and America combined were unable to give Africa. On a lighter note we all know that the west broke... And they envy some of the deals China is getting in Africa.

It is ironic how Al-Jazeera's journalists debate "Empire" in Africa and they fail to mention the sort of leverage and influence that Arab countries (and even Iran) have had on the continent. So you have criticism of France for recently intervening in Mali, but there is absolutely no mention of the financial sponsorship of Arab Kingdoms of Radical Muslim movements from the Touaregs in Mali to Boko Haram(Nigeria). Also there is the perpetuation of the portrayal of Africans as children who need to be told what to do and free from responsibility for what happens in their countries. So overall this was an incomplete overview of the imperial relations on the continent...

Great documentary, In this 21 century Africa people must rise with new ways of thinking, take control of our own politics, economy, education, social issues, history and ideology . The only way it can be done is through educating the next generation of Pan- Africanism. if development comes with price of debt that will make us a salves to our lenders, we don't want development, we rather be living in caves and go hunting and fishing and live with dignity and pride.

As long as they need money to survive, people will continue mining for profit and destroy many of the rainforests/rivers of the world. My eyes see why there are over 10 countries with military bases in Africa. Even India, has gotten into the act. Africa is prime for exploitation and if an African leader dares to challenge the exploitation they are eliminated and replaced by a “friendly” leader who will kiss the ring or die. The question then becomes who will stop them? Or can they be stopped?

Africa must drastically reduce the exporting of raw materials to other countries who will use them in their manufacturing process, to in turn sell those finished products to the African people. Africa MUST become a manufacturing continent, rather than export raw materials, Africa must export finished products. This is the main reason why western nations have failed to develop any sustainable infrastructure in Africa.They do not want a competitor as large as Africa. Africa has more unused land than any other continent, land that could be turned into African owned industrial parks. CHINA is a means to an end, and a much better partner than our former slave owners.

Is China building factories? Are they employeeing Africans! Is money circulating in the communities. Africa falling not rising. Tears my heart. They are simply recolonizing... Africa has a absolutely EVERYTHING they need...ppl for labor, resources for manufacturing, resources to gain capital. THEY ARE KICKING THEMSELVES OUT!

This is a nightmare! Africa is a continent. In what other countries is that happening? Foreigners entering into and controlling the resources of how many countries in Africa? Most of Africa?

He is saying, The Chinese Businesses are winning and African Governments are loosing, and instead it should be a WIN WIN situation. I do not think there is a looser in this situation, every body is winning one way or the other. Thanks.

There is no such thing as "you guys". There are billions of idiots who are conditioned by the main stream media with their lies, and there are millions of people like me, who use their brain. Western media is all owned by greedy, war mongering Zionists. It's good to watch programs that are not controlled by them.

Disgusting. Makes me disgusted more and more with humanity. Then they turn and they blame us of African descent (we in the Caribbean have the same issues) for our own demise.

Its nature. Whoever advances first wins. You think working class Europeans saw any of that gold, diamonds or minerals ripped from your land? This is why they want multiculturalism in the west... it keeps us divided from uniting against the elites aswell as showing how "moral" and "progressive" the elites are while stealing from your ancestral lands.
@karendegenerous6003 жыл бұрын
@@northeastlad2289 You nasty LIAR!! The LAST thing we want is multiculturalism, this is throughout a whole 99.77% of native population Europe.

Why can’t the terms of conditions with the Chinese be that Africans need to be employed on these jobs? And did you hear what she said at 29:48? France is planning that a decade from now the largest French speaking place outside of France will be Kinshasa. Are Kenyans okay with this?
@edwardtang197710 жыл бұрын
You need infrastructure first, before jumping like India to service industry. It takes steps. Follow China's steps and China's success can be duplicated in Africa. Western propaganda presents China as a taker? China pays well and have forgiven debts to more than 30 countries. China put up satellites for Africa. When a nation gets rich, some get rich first before others. It is entirely normal.

Truthseeker very insightful of you to see the 1, 2, 3 steps to get there..we africans are emotional bunch to see how to get where we want to to be. if only we can learn from the chinese how they kept their head down until they built their infrastructure so that they can connect fast commerce throughout their country. we africans always get sidetracked by little stuff like few people got rich in the process

Africa does not need a loan. What AFRICA needs are large scales. Every natural resource needs to be weighed and sold per pound. Per pound equals to currency. This is supposed to be a model. Leasing out the mine and everything that they mine is the foreigners is shortchanging Africa economy.

Nelson Mandela fought hard for African freedom from White Colonial Masters who had invented APARTHEID in Africa.
