This is going to make all the SEC teams better. Iron sharpens iron. Why did the '95 Nebraska team annihilate an undefeated SEC school (Florida) in the national title game that year? Because they had already played a plethora of difficult games. They opened with two true road games against power-conference teams, then in conference (the Big 8) they ran a gauntlet, playing three top 10 teams in their seven conference games. Two of the games against top 10 teams were road games. Playing Florida on a neutral site was a breeze compared to playing AT #7 Colorado or AT #10 Kansas (one of Glen Mason's best teams, the Jayhawks finished 10-2 and #9 in the country.) Anyway, I'm very much looking forward to all these great games!

Matt, the games on that Florida schedule are not in order. They will play Florida state the final game of the year as usual. None of those “stretches” you’re referring to are actual stretches.

Texas' schedule is not bad. They do play Michigan and a better than you would think UTSA team out of conference, But Colorado ST and their pickup game, ULM, are easy. Georgia will be very tough, but they do get them at home. Does it really matter though? But OU in the Cotton Bowl is almost always tough and OU will be much better by then. And you will get Arky's best game of the year so that will be tougher than most who play Arky. And then the big one. the Aggies at home. That will be crazy. So not an easy schedule but not too bad. they could very possibly get through the season with only 2 losses. Texas should be getting back to early 2000s level so they should be able to at least do that.

Just to give a little history. Texas vs Texas A&M, Texas leads the series 76-37-5 over 118 meetings, and won the last meeting in 2011 at Kyle Field. Oklahoma vs Texas Texas leads the series all-time at 63-51-5 (119). Texas and Arkansas first met in 1894 in a 54-0 victory by Texas. The two programs have met 78 times. This was a huge rivalry game for Arkansas. Texas and Mississippi State are 2-2. Texas and Kentucky 1 with Texas winning that. Texas vs Florida 3 times with 1 tie and 2 wins for Texas. Texas vs Georgia 5 times with Texas winning 4. Texas vs Michigan. 1 time 1 win for Texas. The only team on our schedule that we haven't beaten more times than they have beaten us is Vanderbilt. Texas holds an all-time 3-8-1 record head-to-head against Vanderbilt. That just tells you that tings change over time. The Longhorns lead the all-time series with a record of 9-7-1 against LSU and To date, the Crimson Tide and the Longhorns have played 10 times. Texas holds a 7-2-1 all-time series lead over Alabama. They said the same about Mizzou and Texas A&M which were not as good in the Big 12 and they did fine. They are doing the same in the SEC as they did in the Big 12. Mizzou winning division titles in a weaker division (Big 12 North and SEC east) and Texas A&M competing for a title and having some big wins every so often but not regularly. Aggies did really well for a time but most often are mediocre. Again this is all the same as when they were in the Big 12.

The last time Texas A&M were consistent contenders, R. C. Slocum was the head coach and they were still playing in the old SWC. (1991-94: A&M was 10-2, 12-1, 10-2, and 10-0-1.) Since the SWC dissolved, A&M has had exactly 3 seasons (1998: 11-3, 2012: 11-2 and 2020: 9-1) with fewer than 4 losses.

SEC are getting harder schedules while the other conferences dont seem to be changing much. With the harder schedules you could possibly see a Penn state team ranked higher than Alabama or GA if they lose 2 games. Just curious what your thoughts are on it.

Though an LSU season ticket holder .. I live in Austin..... These Longhorn people really think they are going to just walk in and dominate the SEC. But I predict the Texas Achilles heal will crank up pretty fast. I know some people in the longhorn program and they have been telling me for years that the big donors are obsessed with fighting with each other and all the coaches and administrators get caught up in it and things go wrong. if Texas loses a few games in 2024 this stuff will start bigtime. Thank You for opportunity to voice: Obvious 'New' Rivals because of their proximal locations are - Missouri/Kentucky; Vanderbilt/Tennessee; Arkansas/Oklahoma; A&M/U.Texas; Florida/LSU (both swamp climates); South Carolina/Georgia; Alabama/Auburn; U.Mississippi/Mississippi State. Only ONE Rival on Rival Weekend is needed, THREE Rivals is TOO MANY! Once the Games begin, there is plenty of time for 'Old' Rivalries. Yes, Do Away with the Divisions. What I actually want to see is the 'rest' of the SEC Scheduled Games 'every year' to be ''Randomly'' Picked ! To Keep It Fresh year to year ! It's exciting to see a Team they haven't played in a while. They will eventually get around to everyone. Also, keep the Schools to standards for their 'other' games against small Schools. And the 'number' of games played against Power 5 and Group of 5, are the same for all SEC Universities. I'm Sorry to see the dissolution of the Four University Playoff System; I think that's a mistake.

Oh and I think that meme is the other way around remember how long it took Missouri to get to the sec title game two years. I swear the sec is the toughest division any team playing there will not be good. However bama lost to Texas and you can't say they played them after a sec schedule. FSU whoop LSU beat them like last year UNC beat USC which if we are honest that was an even matchup. Utah beating Florida like it wasn't nothing it's like the sec has cupcakes because when they play teams that are similar in talent it's like they lose.
