fun fact steven if you actually read this: 12.7 in metric is equal to .50 so yes, we got a .50 cal revolver and a .50 cal battle rifle. how ever this is closer to the beowulf ammo. on the other hand, the new "LMG" the 6p62 is actually a heavy .50 cal but not the M107, BFG 50 kinda .50 BMG (12.7x99mm). It uses the russian .50 which is EVEN BIGGER 12.7x108mm. i believe the NTW-20 has a conversion for this ammo type

​@heyjsam6256 Uh usually when you say caliber you are referring to the bullet diameter, so no but there is bigger dimension .50 cal ammo, yes, the Russian 12.7x108 compared to the US 12.7x99, really no crazy difference besides the Russian .50 having more of a rimmed cartridge like how 7.62x54r has more of a rim than .308 / 7.62 Nato.

yeah, the shak-12 is a special purpose weapon, just as the vss/val, it was made not for military use, but for special forces of police detachments, its subsonic and fires a heavy 50 cal round, its intended for cqc combat, just as the rsh-12, this gun was made bullpup for better cqc handling and the round was made for wall penetration and stoping the attacker in just one round, its subsonic because well.... i mean we fighting in urban areas, avoiding third parties is one of the priorities

The shak-12 makes me really happy. My favorite gun was the AK12BR with 12.7x55. Now it's back, and similar to how it was before

We could get just the base AK-12 (2016) but I like that the AK platform is getting some more representation. As the AK and the AR are basically the two defacto firearm patterns of the world, and the AR has seen more representation in PF just because it is so mod able. AKs generally just differ in caliber, and look/perform generally the same, so i understand the distain they receive. Also we need Brandon’s AK-50.

I assume the Shak-12 has the 12 because it’s chambered in 12.7x55mm. The Rsh-12 is also chambered in 12.7.

The reason the ash-12 has 950 velocity is because it is a subsonic round, and its also an assault rifle, and irl it fires much faster in full auto, more like 600-650 rpm.

Funny thing, due to the term “battle rifle” not really existing in the Russian language, the ShAK-12 is actually classed as an assault rifle or “heavy assault system”. The subsonic ammunition is meant for up to 200m, supersonic meant for up to 100m, and AP meant for up to 300m. It’s a super niche weapon for special forces.

FYI: the ShaK 12 is a russian cqb battle rifle made for the special forces unit,and the ShAK 12 chamber in 12.7x55mm and also has sub sonic or super sonic round and it has pretty big suppressor

with this amount of new AKs i got the feeling all the Saiga-12 conversions will be removed if they prefer to keep the new family of AK rifles around. Also rather than the Gen 1 AK-12 being a rank 174 it should have at least replaced the current AK-12 model even though it may be a hard sell for those having nostalgic memories.

This gun is a very neat thing. 12 as in 12.7mm, more specifically 12.7x55mm. This gun is about .50, the size of a .50 caliber bullet. Reminder: there is a ton of .50 caliber rounds. .50 AE is for deagles (12.7x33mm) .50 GI is for smaller pistols (12.7x23mm) .50 Beowulf, another round (12.7x42mm) And .50 BMG (12.7x99.) This was made for urban warfare, with the idea of an automatic rifle, whose bullets should not ricochet, and can have multiple purposes. The solution was to use a big bullet, and make it subsonic, much like 9x39mm.

As a SHAk-12 fan, there are some inaccuracies here, the rounds are not that big, and they are double stacked making it 20 rounds instead of ten by default, I don't know why Stylis did this, but oh well.
