Reminds me of somebody strongly influenced by Ernie Kovaks. I watched him on some morning tv show for kids in Chicago in the mid-50s. He had White Tooth and Black Fang, I think their names were. It had the same bit with a guy off stage, only showing hands.

I'm not sure who the target audience was! Either an adult show pretending to be a kiddie show or the reverse. Weirdly hilarious.
