Former Superfast ship of the late Pericles Panagopoulos. Designed by Greek shipbuilders and unique in the world!! Lucky to travel with such a boat. But the company that has owned them all these years has loved them along with the world and maintains them very meticulously and has both ships in very good condition. The new pier is also excellent. Happy travels everyone.

Great Vid guys!! Personally think Geelong is a win for all travellers with vehicles. Heaps of space while waiting. Plenty of options for parking the night before with a little research and again all the Geelong haters, theres actually a lot of great places to eat, drink and visit if you want a day of adventure before departing. So many negative nellies!!

@trekcampfish2 жыл бұрын
@@iainhetherington4608 3 weeks isn’t really long - have you not booked anything - are you caravan park people or free campers - the west coast is amazing - wilderness railway a must , the wall in the wilderness and Gordon river cruise , down south get to Bruny island - if you like a whiskey 🥃 keep an eye out for local distilleries- Tasman peninsula McHenry Orford and Maria island then up to coles bay - this time of year the lavender farms are out and are amazing - bay of fires where we are has camping as do many places - launceston cataract gorge - the list goes on lol 😆

I've noticed a few ferry travellers and more Tasmanians at the servo I work at in Geelong, seems popular

It will be good for the town as its a lot less stressful and the nomads will be more likely to fuel up etc rather than just getting out of Melbourne as quick as they can.

So the new terminal, without the new terminal, what’s the actual terminal look like, you had hours, couldn’t you look at the terminal, wait for traffic to ease and look at the terminal, it looked like there was a lot of parking.
@trekcampfish11 ай бұрын
Once your in the cue your in for the duration as you move reasonably quickly and once through to the area before boarding are required to stay in your car. Good parking in a couple of areas on the approach and where you begin filtering in.

Seriously City Of Greater Geelong can't even get signage right, the sign needs to be before the entrance to the turn off, not after it.

Can you enter to watch it sail out? Or is it passengers only?
@trekcampfish2 жыл бұрын
In the video you will see the roundabout we turn at, people park there to watch it sail out.
@LivingOutOfMemories2 жыл бұрын
There is a car park where you can watch it sail, but the terminal is likely to be closed to the public at those times, and they turn people away who try to go inside to look.

It’s a bugger for Melbourne people for sure on the eastern side but the approach etc is so much better - port Melbourne was a nightmare at times particularly with a boat or van
@froggy01622 жыл бұрын
@@trekcampfish It’s a bugger for anyone on the east coast of Australia… The reason you saw a lot of people waiting early is because traffic across the Westgate and down the Geelong road is a bloody nightmare and very unpredictable. So this doesn’t jsut add the extra driving time, it adds the other hour you have to leave early so you don’t miss the boat!

It's actually not that much difference in time, the line up at Port Melbourne was ridiculous, and for a lot of people coming from Tasmania to travel west along the Great Ocean road its a lot better than the struggle to get through Melbourne city with a caravan.
