The Star pack really needs to focus up on its core mechanics more, the pack itself is mostly Food and Buy&Sell scaling. But the pets in the pack seem too weal at that Job. The Kiwi acting on feint is great as it becomes a better ant, but with the condition of having a food perk required. A real buff to the pack could be removing the second food slot in the first Tier. But the rest of the pack just doesn’t seem to do its job that well.

I feel like it's been a slowly growing sentiment tbh, and I kinda feel it. At the same time, I got back into SAP because of the Unicorn Pack, so now I'm not so sure. But what they're doing to the Starfish Pack seems absurd.

@@PizzaBagels589 I am a SAP player since around 2 months before Golden pack release. I mean, golden was VERY unbalanced for a while, but Unicorn pack felt just so... Unfair. I think while the decision of non- community playtesting was probably fine cuz it created a lot of hype, also killed the pack (at least for me) cause the pack resulted to be unplayable when it released. Then they nerfed some pets and in the process killed some builds that were SO MUCH FUN. And it's still so unfair! Jump builds are to much ahead of everything else, not even in the unicorn pack, but in the entire customs. It's just hard rolling. And yeah, the star 'revamp' is just dumb. I mean, making strawberry more player-interactive is great, but killing the main packs gimmick in the process is inexcusable. The turtle and puppy pack revamps were nice, a fresh air to the packs that needed it the most, adding a really fun new mechanic to puppy (the toys) and some fun pets to turtle. But here I feel like they're just adding random pet ideas and a contradictory archetype (like.. seriously, so many pets work around buffing and making better sell-pets... Yeah, pets you're ... Supposed... To... Sell....). Idk, rn I just play the weeklys and regret immensely buying unicorn.

@@catarinalunar Honestly the dev team has a habit of killing archetypes for shits and giggles while leaving some things broken (*cough* snipers *cough*). I've been around since it was just Turtle and Puppy Pack, and let me tell you they make some really strange design decisions. I should also clarify that I didn't end up buying Unicorn Pack - I just play the weeklies nowadays. I didn't buy it or the Golden Pack since Golden killed my desire to buy any new packs moving forward. So maybe that's why I enjoyed what the Unicorn Pack brought, since I've only been using its pets in weeklies. Customs have also largely devolved into a chaotic mess. I stopped playing it when people started spamming Highland Cow/Nurse Shark over and over. I know that has probably changed since then, but I really don't care to check at this point - it's clear that they don't care about customs balance-wise at all.

@@catarinalunari was there the first day northernlion tried it on stream and I genuinely feel the decision to balance pets around a ranked mode hurt a lot of the simplicity and appeal of the game. And now you got pets like Behemoth that have a passive ability? Not the biggest fan
