It’s incredibly fun playing Brig alongside him, it allows slightly more aggressive play with her when he uses his E, as long as the other support is able to sustain him because Brigs heals aren’t bursty enough if he needs it.

I think because he gets unlimited ammo and is super close in the cage, its better to just spray with both of maugas guns instead of get pulled out and shoot from a distance. But if you notice that your Mauga is about to die in the cage, yea pulling and then shooting from the outside would be good.

Picture this: You're playing Mauga/LW/Mei against a dive comp at the last runup on Hollywood. LW hides out on top and waits for their team to dive. Mauga ults them all in the cage and Mei freezes them. Lifeweaver jumps on the payload and pulls Mauga to him, back capping the point while the frozen and trapped enemies stare in disbelief.

I think this character is actually decently balanced. He’s nigh unkillable if he uses cardiac but if you catch him without it you can swarm him and burn him down really fast since he only has Health and no armor.

The biggest problem I've noticed witj people playing Mauga is that they're using their E way too late in team fights. I think it's because people are used to using Queen Shout for instant health and Hog Breather for burst healing, but Mauga's E is mainly damage reduction, so you need to use it as soon as the fight starts to maximize its value. The best way to think about it is this: The more health you have, the more damage you mitigate, and thus enemies are dealing less "real" damage and generating less ult charge.

Yes but if you use it too early the enemy team can just disengage (as in a bait) and quickly re-engage as soon as the effect is either finished or is about to. I think the best way to use it is wait like 2-3 secs from the beginning (when everyone is committed) and then pop it.

You could also just place it just a bit back so you can utilize the shield aspect of the ult. So then if they step in their stuck, but if they back away from you, you can shoot them with all the cover from the shield

Lifeweaver can pull you out of your ultimate so your not stuck just the enemies. Meaning you can spray them down behind your shield your ultimate provides as Mauga.

I think with a couple of tweaks to his ultimate he will be in a great place, but right now seems like a high/mid A tier character. Can enable really well and really shows that they can push a rein rework in a good place (if they ever showed him any attention).

They talked about changed to his Take-A-Breather and essentially what Cardiac Overdrive of Mauga does (besides the healign through damaging) that´s what I would have imagined for Roadhog to have. But who knows, maybe it will still be like this but instead of letting allies heal through damage they simply get healed for a certain procentage on use.

Think there is some trolling going on here. I'm not a tank main, I'm a support main, I've already learned that when I have a Mauga on my team I have to pocket him with Mercy the entire game for him to even have a fighting chance. I agree that he's super fun to play, but his survivability is completely based off of being pocketed the entire game which is problematic. Have nothing against playing Mercy either, but I don't like the fact that because I have a Mauga on my team I can no longer even touch Lucio, Brigitte, Zenyatta etc. because of how many heals this dude requires to stay alive. That being said I have been getting ult faster than usual from all the healing I do on him.

I think Mauga just needs some buffs to Cage Fight. It gets broken easier than LW tree and trapped enemies are still able to hit you with a lot of their abilitirs

Even just letting him riot would help you could stun them and then using his ult inside another's would help because he could, or inside cage they are burning or dmg res or something but mainly the shield itself gets melted to fast

I think his ult persist makes sense. He places a device on the ground that stays either for duration or until broken. It's like a Sym wall + Junkrat Trap. Both of which persist after death.

Big guy with miniguns aside, he reminds me of Heavy from TF2 where he does a lot of damage but you need to have the foresight and awareness to know when to disengage or you just get collapsed on and perish

He's not a tank...Tank has defensive kits, he's an off-tank or for the non-mmo WoW, A Fighter, Duelist and or Bruiser.

He's a Juggernaut, that's the term I hear the most, or a Bruiser in other games with different gameplay he's basically an Aggro Tank like Hog, his "defensive kit" is being overwhelmingly fat, requiring focus fire to take down and thus creating opportunities for their team by only existing in the battlefield. Their main thing is that you don't want to fight near them, they have good close range damage and often good autosustain too. That's why I like them, you're basically a raid boss

His hitbox makes it almost impossible to miss, he's basically Ana-bait, he can't really handle ranged dps, he needs something up close to fight with in order to sustain himself... My prediction is mauga E is gonna be OP as fuck. They made brig, realized team overhealth is op, then made queen and realized team overhealth is op, and now mauga with AoE dmg reduction. Like the dmg reduction alone gives 200 hp heroes 300 effective health plus lifesteal, and that was deemed to powerful for queen. Imagine how this all plays into the power crept supports and bastion. Bastion will be unkillable in mauga E, and imagine combining E with Amp Matrix or kitsune rush. My bet is he will FOR SURE break the meta

Yeah, those two aren't mutually exclusive statements. He does do a lot of damage, but it is questionable if he needs a nerf. Very VERY easy to laser him, he NEEDS high sustain. Ana shuts him down, and he pretty much can't do anything against Sigma.
