It's cool to see some of these horror mods actually take the criticism into consideration and work in improving instead of just having another entity that runs at you screaming to insta-kill you every 5 seconds. This one actually worked on adding ambiance, making you question yourself, making you feel haunted and threatened without straight up attacking or killing you. It's the build up of dread that really adds to the horror. It's not perfect, but it's a significant improvement for sure.

When I was younger, I studied a bit of programming and game design looking to make video games. I didn't really have the patience for the field, though so I ended up choosing another educational pursuit. There are so many TOWW's that are invisible because there are fear mechanics connected to a random number generator. Eventually, while building a house, collecting food, returning from mining, or in the middle of exploring you're supposed to just start noticing one staring at you. Then you'll notice there are more than one. Then you'll notice there are dozens all surrounding you staring at you. There is also likely a utility where the game is predicting your line-of-sight and selectively revealing TOWW's when you will turn back around to eventually see one behind you in a terrifying way - staring. Otherwise it would function more like Herobrine or TMFTF where the game will select a random point to spawn the entity in and if you don't see it - you don't see it. They are likely *always* following you with a select one being chosen to be revealed at certain times to achieve some selected task, like breaking nearby torches. At the end you likely got lucky with a lot of events being chosen to not be selected due to some disqualifying criteria, so you simply didn't seem the mod active much at the end.

someone who knows a bit about servers and stuff here basically some maps are made to be played alone, like it uses commands that target one player instead of all of them which can cause problems with more then one player, what happens (i think) is that the game tries targetting one player but finds 2, causing the game to get confused and not do the command to generate the middle a solution would be to generate the map in singleplayer, until everythig is loaded in, leave as soon as possible and put it on the server afterwards
