Volquartsen is one stand up company. I have only good things to say about them. I bought a product of theirs for my Ruger 10/22 a while back, and I was having some issues installing it. I thought it was issues with the Volquartsen product, so I contacted them and they promptly sent out another. When I received the new one, I was still having issues with it, so I contacted them again. So they sent another. Right after they mailed the 2nd one, I realized that the problem was with the 10/22 and not Volquartsen's product. They treated me like a king and I can only reccomend them. I appreciated what they did soo much, it was really darn cool of them to sent me 2 more products, no questions asked. I felt absolutely terrible for this whole situation. I feel the only way I can pay them back is to show them the love they showed me and recommend their product. Their products are top notch!

Cool thing about a 3" barrel is you have more subsonic ammo available than you do with a longer barrel since ~1200fps - ~1250fps rated ammo out of a rifle should exit this barrel around under the transonic barrier of ~1130fps.

Now does that factor in the length of the suppressor it'll be used with? Serious question.

Back in the 1970s there was a 45cal. fully automatic select fire (three rounds full auto) pistol out of South Africa called the Black Mamba. This gun was so fast that it could at full auto put 3 rounds into a 3in. circle at a ridiculous distance. (i don't remember it was a long time ago) And at a rate of well over 1000 rounds per min. (if not limited at 3 rounds per trigger pull) (again I don't remember the actual rate) Based on the standard 1911 action but pushed to its limit. I believe that it actually had a few less parts and was made entirely of 440 steelSo a little heavy which helped its recoil in full auto. Don't know what happen to it I've never heard of it sense then. At the time I read about it in an old Soldier of Fortune. And I believe it was long rounds and not ACP. Put I could be wrong again and it was ACP. Would make more sense because it was handle clip feed,.

Of course he can shoot the gun legally without a suppressor on it, there are no minimum barrel length restrictions on pistols. A snub nose 38 has a barrel length of about 2 and a 1/4 inches and a 38 Derringer has a barrel length as short as 1 and 1/2 inches. Perhaps the above commenter is confused because on a integrity suppressed rifle, the total barrel length includes the suppressor. So in that case, yes, removing the silencer COULD make the weapon illegal if you do not have a short barrel rifle (SBR) stamp. However, this is a pistol, not a rifle and yes, I was extremely frustrated that we didn't get a comparison between suppressed and unsuppressed.

@@MrRonro66 that's my expectation. The length of the red dot doesn't change. My understanding is that within a short distance, there's practically no difference in accuracy between short- and long-barrel firearms.
