I actually enjoy shooting my 22's... I have a lot of other guns, but just going out and shooting a 22 with almost no cost is fun sometimes. That said... I doubt I'll be buying a $1000+ 22 pistol anytime soon! It was fun to see Mrs. Outlaw shooting at 75 yards and nailing it.

@@___meph___4547 You need to get the Volquartsen trigger kit for it. I dont know what they cost now, $90 a few years ago, probably $130 or so now, but worth it. I've installed 4 VQ kits in a pair of MKIII's and a pair of MKIV's. VQ claims your break at like 2.25lbs after its done. Three of the ones I installed are 1.5lb breaks and my oldest MKIV is 1.25 (though its probably had 7000rds down it). The VQ full on gun balances well and is accurate, but we're splitting hairs with a handgun here, and just their trigger kit alone can make your standard MK series so much easier to shoot accurately its not even funny.

I built a custom 10/22 from a 10/22 target receiver and everything else Volquartsen parts (with the exception of the stock). I built it after using a stock 10/22 target for an Appleseed Project marksmanship class and realized I needed a lightweight build to maximize my abilities. At 50 yards with a steady hand I can place 3 rounds in the same hole. I will never have a bad thing to say about Volquartsen.

I’m a youth shooting assistant coach and the Volquartsen Black Mamba is what all the kids covet - it’s pretty fun too. Bang for the buck you can’t beat the S&W SW22 Victory - super accurate and just runs if you don’t get one that has a defective receiver (which seems to happen occasionally). I love my 9’s but I burn through ammo way faster with the SW22 because it’s guilt free accurate fun

In the initial review comments like "POS" was mentioned for no good reason as well as among other negative subjective comments used to downplay its positive points to give an overall lower opinion. Look at his different styles of reviews on the same issues or even more important issues (ie reliability etc) vs other guns and you will see the difference in how its portrayed. I converted my ruger 22/45 lite to a volqurtsen black mamba. I got the bolt the trigger the magazines the barrel the extended mag release. I slapped an SRO on it and holy crap. I am just a novice shooter and holy crap you can go to the range and hit a 1inch target at 25 yards I can put 8 out of 10 into that target. If I were to do it all over again I would just skip buying the ruger and buy Volquartsen. I haven't done a cost analysis of my project. I feel comfortably that if you dont have the money upfront and have a ruger already you can piece your mamba together one piece at a time and the cost won't be so out of line with a factory built unit. I would strongly suggest thing firearm full stop . I love this channel he speaks to me like a common man I love it keep it going.

@@entertainme8 Buy it. The kit is worth it. Here's the deal. And I have a pair of MK series I built up off of expensive VQ uppers and full internals (basically what they sell only I pieced them together before they even offered it as a full gun - MKIV series, not the MKIII based Scorpions). How well can you shoot a 22lr handgun offhand? Like, can you dump them into a half inch offhand at 15yds or so? Take an off the shelf MKIV of whatever flavor, throw a VQ trigger kit in it and benchrest it up against a full on Volquartsen pistol. The VQ is going to beat it. But... by how much? Like your group size at best might be 1/8" more, and maybe less. Its not a difference you will notice shooting the gun offhand. I like them, I have them, I have paid for them, but I would never sit there and try to convince someone that this $1500 VQ is going to be night and day better than a $450 stock Ruger with a $130 trigger kit in it. Because it wont be. Done 4 VQ triggers on Rugers. Three break at 1.5lbs, the other just over 1.25. The kit claims 2.25lbs. They are better than advertised, and with the pretravel and overtravel screws dialed in, they are unbeatable.

Since .22 lr is more widely used for precision/bullseye competition and is in the Olympics unlike all 9mm or .45, a $1400 target .22 is on the lower end of the target scale in price, and isn't competitive with the really high end guns like Pardini. Not that I'm saying VQ and Pardini are the same type of guns. But obviously the market for high end 22s is there.

They didnt make it Years ago. That gun is like 2yrs old when VQ started buying 22/45's complete from Ruger, then using the frames to make the Mamba and selling off the barrels, bolts, and grips at great bargains to recoup some of the cost. Mamba cost like $1400 as well.

@@dilldowschwagginz2674 I didn't mention the lowest of the low they produce or rather have made by Umarex that belong together and branded Walther. Umarex also makes the .22lr mp5 variants with the meh welds. I'm never talking about a whole brand but a certain product or product series. The GSP series has been one of the most successful bullseye shooting/olympic style shooting pistols for decades. It's still produced with changes since 1968. The style is one handed shooting at 25m (27.34 yards) and 50m (54.68 yards) as well as 5 targets at the same distance in 'rapid' fire. You won't stumble over them if you don't take an interest in certain shooting disciplines.

When is Mrs. Outlaw going to start a channel? My wife has become interested in shooting after what turned out to not be an active shooter scenario in a mall. (Men fighting knocked wooden displays over causing a panic as it was loud) She was stuck in the ladies bathroom wishing I were there with a gun. I feel she would relate to Mrs. Outlaw very well.

I have a VQ 6 inch black Mamba. Had problems with sight adjustment. Document had no reference to it. Took 2 months to get one response from their support (literally looped all emails in their website) and no response after that eventually gave up asking them. What's the point if they don't support the customer even for just asking a simple question.

@MrDmthomp32
@MrDmthomp32 2 жыл бұрын
@@robertlyman9789 so what I’ve seen is you don’t necessarily take the pistol apart like you would a Ruger mk pistol. I retract the bolt, spray and wipe out the chamber. Run a patch using one of the flexible rope cleaners from breech to muzzle. The bolt wipes up very easily with a cloth due to its finish. So it doesn’t break down necessarily but it also isn’t difficult.

I was thinking about mounting it right in front of the rear sight over the ejecter port. or will that cause problems? thanks for anyone's input....

I did the same thing, and put a Holosun 407k on top with a picatinny rail mount. The mount seemed to have caused ejected casings to occasionally bounce back into the chamber and cause issues with the next round. It happened a few times, I moved my Red dot up, and it hasn't happened since. How have you been doing with yours?
