@@___meph___4547 You need to get the Volquartsen trigger kit for it. I dont know what they cost now, $90 a few years ago, probably $130 or so now, but worth it. I've installed 4 VQ kits in a pair of MKIII's and a pair of MKIV's. VQ claims your break at like 2.25lbs after its done. Three of the ones I installed are 1.5lb breaks and my oldest MKIV is 1.25 (though its probably had 7000rds down it). The VQ full on gun balances well and is accurate, but we're splitting hairs with a handgun here, and just their trigger kit alone can make your standard MK series so much easier to shoot accurately its not even funny.

I built a custom 10/22 from a 10/22 target receiver and everything else Volquartsen parts (with the exception of the stock). @@entertainme8 Buy it. The kit is worth it. Here's the deal. And I have a pair of MK series I built up off of expensive VQ uppers and full internals (basically what they sell only I pieced them together before they even offered it as a full gun - MKIV series, not the MKIII based Scorpions). How well can you shoot a 22lr handgun offhand? Like, can you dump them into a half inch offhand at 15yds or so? Take an off the shelf MKIV of whatever flavor, throw a VQ trigger kit in it and benchrest it up against a full on Volquartsen pistol. The VQ is going to beat it. But... by how much? Like your group size at best might be 1/8" more, and maybe less. Its not a difference you will notice shooting the gun offhand. I like them, I have them, I have paid for them, but I would never sit there and try to convince someone that this $1500 VQ is going to be night and day better than a $450 stock Ruger with a $130 trigger kit in it. Because it wont be. Done 4 VQ triggers on Rugers. Three break at 1.5lbs, the other just over 1.25. The kit claims 2.25lbs. They are better than advertised, and with the pretravel and overtravel screws dialed in, they are unbeatable.

Since .22 lr is more widely used for precision/bullseye competition and is in the Olympics unlike all 9mm or .45, a $1400 target .22 is on the lower end of the target scale in price, and isn't competitive with the really high end guns like Pardini. Looking at Volquartsen for my next 22lr purchase. My concern is that I use the front site to co-witness with a red dot. Question: Do you feel that the the front site on the Scorpion is tall enough to co-witness with a red dot?

Purely in terms of accuracy, how would you compare the Voquartsen to a Smith & Wesson 41 Performance Center?

I’ve got an LLV competition scorpion. Mrs. Outlaw is correct it’s almost too easy. Silhouette targets at 100 yards easy. 3” steel at 50 yards easy. Amazing pistols

What's up with people complaining about cleaning it?
@MrDmthomp322 жыл бұрын
@@robertlyman9789 so what I’ve seen is you don’t necessarily take the pistol apart like you would a Ruger mk pistol. I retract the bolt, spray and wipe out the chamber. Run a patch using one of the flexible rope cleaners from breech to muzzle. The bolt wipes up very easily with a cloth due to its finish. So it doesn’t break down necessarily but it also isn’t difficult.

Remington centerfire ammo and rimfire ammo are 2 totally different animals. On the adverse, so are Wolf centerfire and rimfire. Wolf centerfire is steel cased garbage and their rimfire is just rebranded SK awesomeness.

Any particular reason you chose the scorpion over the black mamba. The latter is supposedly easier to take down.

Have you ever tried the S&W Model 41? I have the Performance Center edition, it’s the best 22lr pistol I personally own- a lot of fun!

Bought my daughter one for her 22nd bday. Was prepared to buy a second if I loved it but honestly I ended up sticking with the TX22 for my rimfire Target pistol.
@mikem21323 жыл бұрын
@@dilldowschwagginz2674 I’ve never tried a TX22, but I’ll never get rid of my 41. I personally believe a good 22lr pistol is a great way to practice shooting fundamentals, with ammo so expensive it’s all I shoot. I also have a S&W Model 617, it’s a 10 shot K frame chambered in 22lr. I’m glad we have so many great choices!

just picked up a black momba and going to put a red dot on it. I have noticed that all the videos I've seen the red dot is in front of the ejecter port is there a reason for that? I was thinking about mounting it right in front of the rear sight over the ejecter port. or will that cause problems? thanks for anyone's input....
@cdog57602 жыл бұрын
I did the same thing, and put a Holosun 407k on top with a picatinny rail mount. The mount seemed to have caused ejected casings to occasionally bounce back into the chamber and cause issues with the next round. It happened a few times, I moved my Red dot up, and it hasn't happened since. How have you been doing with yours?
@hsmallwood40 Жыл бұрын
@@cdog5760 sorry for the delayed response. but I have my red dot right over the ejection port and have had no problems with it. and that's with about 1000 rounds though it.
