You have to good with your user too tho bc I’ve seen this defense in some H2H and that seam streak can get hit for a home run if you lead that throw left a bit. It’s an animation based game like every year but this one requires a little more tactical play calling

Bro I was using mainly cover 3 cloud last year and shutting people down... thus year. I can NOT STOP ANYONE. QBs are throwing dots all over the field, feels like everyone is open and running backs just have open lanes everywhere.

I dont know too much about the defensive flats and hooks and stuff. So if someone keeps throwing it over my head in the middle just under the safeties what would that be? A seam flat i dont know or how to defend double slants

if you wanna defend the middle of the field underneath your safeties you can drop your hook zones further. And then just user the shallow middle part of the field. As for double slants you can set curl flats to about 10-15 yards and itll take away the slants once they cross the middle of the field.

I’ve started playing safety’s in my LB position they run faster & change direction faster so you can still user cover. And they are decent in the run game as tacklers. The LB movement this year is sluggish.

drop your clouds to 25 and curl flats to 10. man up the crosser and user the slant until you can pass him off to the sideline.

Hey! Yeah you can drop those as deep or as shallow as you like as well. I wouldn't recommend getting too crazy with those. That's more of a situational adjustment as of right now.

If your opponent used the deep crosser you will need to either user it or drop your clouds to 25. Regardless of if it's Tampa 2 or Cover 3. You can always add in some man coverage or use curl flats as hard flats like in the video.

Awesome video! Just one question. Is there a specific reason why you made it so that the flats go deep and the curl flats play low? Is it just because you want the cornerback to be the one playing deeper with less adjustments pre-snap or am I missing something?

When you drop that cloud flat CB 25 yards it effectively eliminates 2 weaknesses of a cover 2. 1) it takes away the routes that can cross under a safeties face and over the cloud flat 2) it takes away the cover 2 "pot shot" which is like the area behind the cloud that a streak/fade/go route can exploit. As for the curl flats you can play him at 5 or 10 yards. The point is to take away any shallow crosser from the opposite side of the field so if they throw it they don't get an easy first down due to our cloud flat playing so deep.

I usually leave hooks on default but thats completely up to you. some routes can attack right under a safety but above a default hook (deep dig, certain posts, etc). In that case you can adjust your hooks.

I believe the only zones that are affected from the 'Zone Drops - Flats' are: Cloud flats, Hard flats, and Soft Squats. I'm not 100% on it though. If you use the Zone Drop feature in general the match principles of the quarterflats will automatically turn OFF.

Short/Intermediate routes over the middle. They're devoting 2 guys to the sidelines so you can still put a user in conflict. Spread you could probably throw seam streaks vs this shell.
