Hi Debs, I'm new to your channel, and I usually don't comment, but you inspired me, so I just wanted to let you know that when you finish your book, I'm reading it ❤

Maus was also my first graphic novel. It was assigned reading in my first year college seminar. We read so many great books and this was the most memorable. And oh!,,,The Postcard! What a FANTASTIC book. I read that in 2022 and I still think about that book. It was a favorite for that year!

Now you’ve made me even more excited to read it. You are the first person I’ve come across who has read it. Thank you 😊

Delightful responses, Debs. You made me laugh: "If I don't do it now, it will be October, and you can't do a new year tag in October."

Thanks Pat. This was a lovely fun tag to do. Keep those tags coming my friend 😊

PG Wodehouse, great answer. I'm reading one now, Bingo Little is losing all his money at Monte Carlo 😂 I'm alternating this with a first ever read of The Moonstone. Very different, both great.

Please share your writing on the channel (if and when you feel you want to of course) I think that’s so exciting for you. Great answers. I read Frankenstein last year for the first time too at 56 years old. I loved it. Thanks for sharing I really enjoyed it I might do it myself I think ❤
@RaynorReadsStuff27 күн бұрын
Yes do it 😊 I may start sharing some writing somewhere. It all depends how brave I feel 😂

Thanks Debs for doing this tag! Really enjoyed your take and your choices. Some of those books i have never heard of. By the way, you would make a great narrator for Audible…very distinctive voice. Have a great week!

Very fun tag, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Haha maybe I could start a new career as a narrator, thank you, that’s very kind of you. You have a great week too 😊

Thanks for the tag! I've done one tag and Kevin Towle has tagged me twice but I haven't done those so I'll do this one and call it even.😆

The only Joyce that doesn't scare me is Dubliners, which is why I've read that many times and none of his other work! I bought a copy of Maus a few years ago and I still haven't read it. I'm also excited about all of the new authors and playwrights the year will bring.
@RaynorReadsStuff27 күн бұрын
I thought MAUS was so good. I’m so excited about the new authors I will get to this year. And I am thinking Dubliners may be a good idea before Finnegan’s Wake 😊

Lovely! I could definitely join with you in October as we try to catch up on belated tags etc… Maus really is pretty stunning, isn’t it? I too want to check out Berest at some point.

A classic, important graphic novel you should look for is Barefoot Gen. Barefoot Gen (はだしのゲン, Hadashi no Gen) is a Japanese historical manga series by Keiji Nakazawa, loosely based on Nakazawa's experiences as a survivor of the Hiroshima atomic bombing. The series begins in 1945 in and around Hiroshima, Japan, where six-year-old Gen Nakaoka lives with his family. After Hiroshima is destroyed by the bombing, Gen and other survivors deal with the aftermath. I nicked the description from Wikipedia. I'd go as far as to suggest this could be counted as a classic.

That sounds brilliant and right up my street. I shall see if I can find it. We have a lovely little comic/ graphic novel shop in Nottingham and I am sure they will be able to track it down for me. Thanks Dave 😊

Haha that’s a pretty valid point 😂. Although I definitely do not think I have his talent 😊
