Ur not blown away with top 20 almost got qb stats. Or whatever these ppl are touting. Gotta say if ur honest that was a sub par season for a #5 pick. 4 sacks n a 2 big plays. This fan base was comparing him to LT. Think he will be one of the best in league. But holy crap these fans need to watch a game. There’s a lot of room for improvement. If he doesn’t get stronger he’s gonna be in trouble. A lot of these guys are not worried about his inside move so set up for his speed rush on every pass play. Getting blocked by TEs. Have seen him get jammed and controlled by TE where he spun his back to Center and our Dline couldn’t flow down the line with ball runner because the TE had KT back pinned up against Leo. If he builds that strength and learns to use inside moves so tackles can’t just set up for speed rush every time.

I think the Giants are ahead of the market on the Jones deal. With the contracts Lamar and Hurts just got, plus Joe Burrow inevitably resetting the market with his future deal, Jones will be making at least 15M less than the top guys. And best believe Mahommes and Allen will renegotiate their current deals too. 40M will be “average QB” money in 1-2 years.

Problem is Jalen, Joe and Justin are all light years better QB’s than Daniel jones. Mentioning them and their contracts in this is not even applicable at all, as they’re way out of jones tier, actually it hurts the argument cause it states we over paid Jones.

@rainierjef
@rainierjef Жыл бұрын
@@day-trishad3937 that’s the thing I don’t think he’s being paid at his tier at all. We only paid Jones that amount due to these inflated QB contract numbers, but jones in the last 4 years has played like a QB that’s worth 25-28M. While last year was his best year, let’s be honest it was a mediocre year by most QB standards. He’s getting more than Mahommes right now, that doesn’t make sense to me at all.
@day-trishad3937
@day-trishad3937 Жыл бұрын
@@rainierjef he is not getting more than mahomes. His tier is 82 mil guaranteed which you ignored in my first response. And you made the point. The going rate for a competent starting qb in this league is 35-40 per. You’re not only paid for what you have done but it’s a combination on expectation as well. The fact that you said qb contracts are inflated serves the point. As the Cap increases so do the contracts.

We won't be able to judge Jones until he has an actual O-Line in front of him...the Giants were decimated by Jerry Reese and then totally obliterated by Gettleman...the work Schoen and Daboll have done in such a short time is nothing short of miraculous. I am very optimistic that the Giants will be on top of the NFL power rankings within the next 2 years...Barkley was obviously a horrendous pick, but we need to deal with it for one more year...franchise him and then cut him loose in 24...

@@KreW3 Nope. Even a fan who _didn't want to admit_ he'd seen showed (after the 18th minute mark) that Jones kzbin.info/www/bejne/mIjXgJuvrttql80 _has_ receivers getting open & *doesn't throw to them.* Let's try to put this in perspective: Jones played under coach of the year & had his *only non-crappy season ever.* Lamar Jackson plays under kzbin.info/www/bejne/gJjJc5Jqecyhe7M possibly The Most Incompetent passing play-caller ever. & you know what? LJ8 out-ran & out-TD'd Jones *in 4.75 fewer games.* That's right. He out-produced him while playing hand-cuffed & did it in 75% of the time. Jones isn't The Worst. But he's not even top-20 & it's a _HUGE_ drop-off. If he didn't run, he wouldn't be a starter or even a decent back-up. If he didn't stop turning the ball over, this assessment wouldn't be made. Lamar is considered washed up even after out-doing Jones on every level & Jones isn't? _That_ is a Classic Case of Lowered Expectations. With Lamar under Daboll the Giants could even contend with the Eagles. With Jones, you should contend with the Commanders & maybe Cowboys. Then again, you just finished a season where, because he's so ineffective at moving the ball, the majority of your wins (all but one) were squeaked out. The talent they got in the draft measures up to that of the Commanders & Cowboys almost equally. So it's about a draw. Other teams like the Seahawks out-did them. Without a better QB they ain't going nowhere. Jones has to do MUCH more than not turn the ball over & never has. Good luck.

Great video man & excellent observations. I’m a huge Giants fan & while I see the Gmen getting good draft grades, the media is absolutely smitten with & fawning over the new football media darlings the Eagles who are despised rivals. The Eagles had an excellent draft, no doubt, but the way the media talks about it, it seems like there’s only one team in the NFL. They seem to forget that the Eagles lost a TON of important players in this offseasontoo. They lost several crucial players at once which affects continuity & these losses are akin to 2-3 seasons worth of losses in one offseason. Anyway, the Giants had an excellent offseason by doing transactions such as extending Jones, trading for Waller & signing Okereke. Those filled important needs. Also, the Giants draft went about as good as it could possibly go. With their first 3 picks they got guys that were all mocked to them at pick 25 in Round 1. That’s incredible & a huge value. It truly was like a unicorn🦄 draft. Some Giants fans were complaining about trading some picks to move up but in previous years they complained with standing pat & getting leapfrogged. Last year we we salary cap strapped so we needed to use all of our picks & add some cheaper young players. We had 10 picks this year with a pretty loaded roster that has a strong young core, and while it has weaknesses like needing a CB, C, WR, TE & ILB we couldn’t possibly use all those picks & expect to keep most of the picks. In the draft & free agency, Giants GM Joe Schoen filled those exact needs shrewdly & smartly. Now we have a talented young core & a balanced roster with depth. This is the best shape we’ve been in for years from management to coaching to the roster. We finally have some continuity also. More importantly, this offense & defense will be going into year 2 in the offensive & defensive systems so they should not only be better versed & more comfortable, the coaches should know which plays fit the players best thereby maximizing their skills & traits. This should lead to better efficiency & performance on both sides of the ball making the offense more explosive & dangerous while making the defense stouter & stingier. I can’t wait. What a free agency & what a draft! Let’s Go 🔹🔷Giants🔷🔹 Big🟦Blue is back baby! The NFC East is a beast Thanks for the great analysis & Giants content.🙂👍

Daniel Jones was one of THE most efficient QBs in the league and he did that with NO WEAPONS. I mean Kafka LITERALLY had to scrap HALF of his playbook because the talent they had simply was not good enough to execute and Jones still managed to have a 92.5 rating while only throwing 5 interceptions all year. And NOW HE HAS WEAPONS. And btw it's not just Daboll - Schoen is the guy running things and he's done a great job. Dude has had back to back home run drafts and made some really nice and shrewd free agent moves. We had a winning record and won a playoff game in the FIRST YEAR of a rebuild. And we've gotten so much better in the off season it's ridiculous. EDIT - Gray is going to be a good RB. Was watching film on him (not just highlights) and he didn't have a single play for negative yards that I saw. He ALWAYS makes the first guy miss. He's very shifty and slippery, he's not the fastest or most explosive but he can definitely make guys miss and break tackles because he's very strong. We'll be okay even if Saquon leaves. Don't forget DJ is like an extra running back himself. He ran for over 700 yards at 5.9 yards a carry. This draft was SO rich with talent that it was possible to find good players even in the late rounds. We also got a steal with Gervarrius Owens.

Why do people keep saying, I don't think Daniel Jones can take them to a Super Bowl if you build a good team around him. Yes, he can. I mean Trent Dilfer, won a Super Bowl. And he was terrible

@jackblasbalg7936 I was basically trying to explain that no matter the quarterback. If you build the right team, you can win. So, I gave an example of a quarterback who won a Super Bowl. Because of the overall team he played with.

On Daniel Jones he said: "A lot of people are hating this extension." Actually, that's not true at all. Most Giants fans and the dopey pundits are VERY comfortable with the extension. DJ got rewarded, BUT it's a team friendly contract so if he doesn't perform they can move on in two years. Also, what was the alternative? Drafting a QB at 25 and start over hoping that player will be a little better than DJ? Trade up by giving away your draft capital for sub par QB? Trade for an aging veteran QB? No. No. And No. The Giants absolutely did the right thing and almost everyone agreed with the decision. Also, I dont agree the Giants are prepared if Saquon is not re-signed. Their options are not good. Breida is less than average and we have no idea what the kid from Oklahoma is, but we know he's not fast or strong. That said, the Giants first 3 picks in the draft were EXCELLENT. We addressed 3 areas of need with 3 stud players. Schoen did a great job maximizing his picks...

Barkley ain't going nowhere. Breida is a capable backup. Watch Oklahoma's offense on KZbin. Underestimating what Gray can bring to this team.

If you added a Ja’Marr Chase or A.J. Brown to the roster and Daniel Jones is a Top Ten quarterback. Just one top flight receiver and everything would change.

They also got a couple UDFA signings. Especially with LB and WR. The WR, Ford-Wheaton from WV, could end up as Jones top target. He just had some drops in college. If they can fix that with him the watch out.

It's kind of a joke that the regular running back position still exists. How many players have teams ran the hell out of their first year or two and when it comes time to pay them, no thanks. And then maybe they have one or two decent years left. He deserves every dollar but you can't win by focusing the cash on one of the least important positions. SEE: Patriots

It would be nice to have Barkley back but not at the price he wants. Bring in another back to go with Gray and Breida. Pating RB's big money hasn't produced championships for the teams that did pay up.

My friend. I love your recap on everything. My only complaint about you, is you end every single sentence with the same tone of voice inflection. Literally every single sentence. I haven't watched anything else from you so I don't know if it's just this video but try to change up how you say things cause it makes it feel like a robot if you're ending everything with the same tone of voice.
