Yeah, tsyplikov got a 3 game suspension for an unintentional hit to the head, but Domi didn't even get a fine for purposely elbowing George in the face. DOPS is a farce.

From what people in NHL office tell me Deangelo is quite popular with the players around the hate. The hate comes from Journalist and Media and Fans. He is player who is politically incorrect who is proud of that and likes going on social media to boast that he is politically incorrect. Majority of canadian and american players share his views. His real problem is that he is the type of personality who likes to say things to provoke people His issues with the Rangers was because they didnt want him going on social media to say I support Trump Covid was a lab leak Against vaccine mandate Against mask mandates Against school closures He is a talented player who provides offense from the blue line which has been a problem this year Islanders have a need and he fills that need Islanders need him to play well in order to win games because if we are winning games that means our veteran players are playing better and we will be able to maximize our returns

If we had more people that spoke their true feelings the world would be a better place. The world is evolving into a cesspool bc people do not speak out. Tony is a little misinformed on several subjects, but he's on the right track, let people have their own opinions and let go of the idea that public sports figures should toe the official party line, raise your own damn kids and stop looking elsewhere for role models.

Many teammates liked him but he's had issues with others, like the incident where he punched Georgiev. He has been let go by numerous teams so obviously there are some issues that go beyond his statements on social media. I hope he can be a good player and good teammate. If he does, he's a great addition. If not, he'll be running out of chances to stick in the NHL. Thanks for the comment, alexyaybar. LGI.

@LockedOnIslanders TBH I was surprised when people told me players across the league like him. He is the type of person with a large personality that people like and some people hate because he likes to provoke people. However do I think he can act normal to till the end of the season so he can get a contract for next season.. yes

Rangers have a lot of vocal leftists as fans. Management doesn’t realize they are a small minority of their fan base and are afraid of them. To be fair though. Tony has worn out his welcome on 2 more teams. Perhaps he’s realized how great it is to play in the NHL.

Even Rod Brind'Amour, who coached DeAngelo couldn't believe nobody signed him yet. With Dobson going down, a 32nd place PP, and now Pulock going down, this signing makes sense. Roy liked his play and knows he can log some big minutes. He's making the league minimum on a prorated contract, so money isn't an issue. If he becomes a distraction in the locker room to the point he hurts the team, the Islanders can simply release him. With or without him, with or without the 4 game winning streak, the Islanders are still not a playoff team, but to stay somewhat competitive, the DeAngelo signing was the right move by Lou. At the trade deadline, he may actually give us another asset to trade if he plays well.
@LockedOnIslanders
@LockedOnIslanders 5 күн бұрын
I hope DeAngelo plays well and behaves in the locker room and off the ice. Like you said, if he does, this is a great signing. If he doesn't, no harm IF the Isles cut bait in a timely manner. Hopefully, it doesn't come to that. My concern now, Another_User_Name_, is that the Isles stay close and Lou doesn't sell at the deadline or even keeps buying. Thanks for the comment and LGI.

@@LockedOnIslanders I agree. I hope that the recent Islanders resurgence doesn't distract Lou from what ultimately needs to be done, which is rebuild. We should not be buyers at the deadline, and at the bare minimum, Nelson and Palmieri need to be moved for future assets.

Makes sense mikeybombers2529, to everyone not named Lou Lamoriello. Today, he traded away a draft pick for a depth defenseman now that Pulock is on IR. This tells me two things: 1) Lou has not faith in any of the depth defensemen at Bridgeport and 2) he is still in win now mode and isn't ready to sell and start the necessary retool. Thanks for the comment and LGI.

Good morning team! Gil, I have to admit, I'm torn. I love it when the Islanders win, but I can't help think how wins hurts us in the long run. Our glorious GM will probably not sell at the deadline, as he should. We all know he should to try to make this team younger, and faster. Having said that, I enjoy the wins, especially coming back in both games, after giving up the first goal, and two to the Canes. Also, about Tony DeAngelo, how could I not like a guy with such a great name lol. Now we have Colorado coming and the Flyers on the horizon again. I look forward to every game and each episode of the podcast. Of course, wishing the best for Pulock and not being out of the lineup for too long. Everyone, have a great day! See you all again tomorrow. Until then.. Let's Go Islanders!!

Hi Gil! I must admit, I was very surprised by D’Angelo. He seemed to fit right in and was clearing the crease like it was “Spring cleaning”. I really haven’t seen much of that. Playing with Romanov-geez that’s gonna be interesting. I believe in second chances, maybe this time he will adjust, be a good teammate but so long as he continues his aggressive crease clearing ways. Gil, Nelson has already stated he will test free agent waters, at least he didn’t pull off a pajama boy charade! So, gotta trade him-a pure MUST! Palmeri has been cold-but he’s a playoff type performer-gotta trade him-a MUST! The new kid can play-he’s a hitter, has speed and is hungry! What have we been saying? Bring up the hungry kids! We trade those two-there is room for Tysippy and Gadcomb. Fasching is an extra type player. Agreed Gil, games in hand--Trade those two! Gotta be a responsible Gm and do the right thing Louless! I feel we’re no better or worse without those two-where are we with them? Trade those two! Hog looks real good-gotta find a way to eat Varly’s contract-he’s not gonna get healthier next 2 years. Ps-I didn’t miss Dobson’s consistent giveaways! Pullock is out--give Hutton his chance-he’s been very decent and plays like he’s 6”4! Take care Gil!

@@LockedOnIslanders I would be fine with that if the term wasn't too long. But signing a 2C who scores 30 goals consistently regardless of what his name is always a good thing. Brock is not the problem with this team. However, if no extension is done soon, then you have to trade and the close it gets to the TDL, the less leverage Lou has.

Good 🌄, Gil, how are you? The Islanders won both games against the Flyers and the Hurricanes. As usual, there were tensions between those 2, just not as much; however, the Hurricanes have worked their last nerve for a few seasons, and this time, they came back in OT to do it. Give credit to Mark Gatcomb. He's young and has some hits. Casey Czisikus has gotten a little better. They've won 4 straight, but still have some work to do. Maxim Tsyplakov sat out Saturdays game even though his suspension was over. Maybe Patrick Roy did it to teach him a lesson, who knows. The injury jinx has hit the Islanders again. Ryan Pollack, upper body injury 15 seconds in the game, and he wasn't happy. We won't know how long he'll be out because Lou Lamoriello's keeping his mouth shut when it comes to injuries. I think it will make him think twice about trading Brock Nelson. Marcus Hochberg hurt himself Saturday 🌙, too so he's iffy, too. The Islanders signed Tony D'Angelo for rest of the season. A one time member of the dreaded Rangers. He has the talent, BUT HE NEEDS TO GET ALONG WITH HIS TEAMMATES. IF HE STARTS TROUBLE WITH THE, ISLANDERS, BETTER BE SMART AND ✂️ HIM OFF AT THE QUICK. HAPPY 🎂, MARK LAWRENCE. He scored a goal and an assist in a 5-3 win against the Panthers. Hear from you later, Gil. I'm 👀 Game 3 of the Finals. As you know, the Islanders were making their Stanley Cup Finals debut at the Coliseum, and they 🚬 the Flyers with a shorty and 5 PP goals in a 6-2 win. Now, LET'S GO ISLANDERS.

NEEDLE POINTING TOWARDS THE RE-SIGN 29, 21 TRADE THE FIRST SIDE. Four game winning streak may tempt louzer to do something stupid like trade 29, first for j t. Fkn winning streak. Meanwhile canes make a real deal and get a top scorer in 50 g 100 pt. rantanen as av's get necas. Two teams trading some high end offensive talent, the kind isles only wish they had. And 29 drops to two on trade list behind j t with 21 ten. And speaking of 50 g 100 pt. scorers check out tony d. wearing the 77 of sneaky pete, the last isle 50 g 100 pt. scorer-32 years ago. No louzer gm'd team has ever had a player score 50g 100 pt while playing for louzer-elias, mogilny, kovi-no one. nj including kc scout/rockies days has never had one.
