As a Knicks fan couldn’t agree more. Randle was not meant to be handling the ball. That’s why they have thrived with Brunson. The playoffs this year will be the real test to see if he can play well with no outside factors effecting him. Great video and keep up the great work!

What a W video bro. So well put together and actually in tune with the situation. Randle truly has played as 3 completely different players on the Knicks, and he’s finally playing as the most effective version of himself. I can’t stand the unfair hate he gets and I’ll always love him for coming here and pulling the franchise out of the pits of hell

frr he’s arguably the biggest part of our culture change and our fans still can’t appreciate him for what he’s done so far. he’s not perfect but i promise not many people in the league could replace his numbers for us, let alone through the hate he’s received.

If Julius Randle performs well in the playoffs this year there will be nothing stopping me from saying he’s a greater knick then melo ever was. Randle has his rough moments and has not played well in the playoffs and has been held accountable for that. I still believe Randle can be himself in the playoffs but this year is the one to prove it. Love Randle and he built for NY cuz he just keeps his head down and grinds, doesn’t make excuses to media, doesn’t complain about the hate. He embraces it and chooses to try and become a better player. For that I am riding with Randle until he proves to be a lost cause

Julius used to be a problem because he didn’t pass/trust his teammates. That cause lots of turnovers due to him trying to play through double triple teams. He’s changed. Passes and is in a better place understanding he can’t always be the first and last option. It’s hard to replace someone who gives you his stats on a daily basis.

Before getting a serious point guard in Brunson, he was basically the guy that needed to bring the ball up the court and be a point forward which led to problems. Obviously that wasn't going to work and it's why singing Brunson was so huge, but Randle had too many hats on. That's why I can't knock him too badly for his first playoff appearance.

What you forget is we see the same Julius Randle in crunch time, despite his #'s the first 45 minutes, he continues to be the same turnover machine, dumb decision maker the last 3 minutes of games. I wish he would learned to trust his teammates more in crunch time. Julius won't or can't trust his teammates and makes the worst decisions in the history of basketball in the final minutes. He is still the same player in end of game crunch time, always allows himself to get trapped instead of getting rid of ball, looks to get his shot off, and when he can't a terrible pass follows. These are facts, and happen constantly in final minutes. Some of the bone head plays happen in the first 45 minutes, but they always happen in the final 3 minutes. FACTS, OPEN YOUR EYES AND SEE, STOP MAKING EXCUSES FOR HIM. MAYBE HE WILL LEARN ONE DAY. JULIUS IS CLOSE TO 30 NOW, HE SHOULD KNOW. BETTER BY NOW YOU CAN'T CONTINUE TO MAKE THE SAME WRONG PLAYS IN CLOSE GAME DOWN THE STRETCH. I DIDN'T EVEN TALK ABOUT HIS LACK OF EFFORT EVERY GAME, YES EVERY GAME!!!¡!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great video man. Thank you for pointing out all this that some of us have been trying to for years. Randle is a changed player & he has the passion to win. He doesn’t care about what the narratives are anymore & thats a big reason he is willing to adjust his game to win more. He respects Jalen Brunson as the 1a & even though they take turns this has taken a lot of pressure off Randle. Randle is having the best clutch season of his career, the best post up season of his career, the most efficient season of his career since being a 1, better decision making consistently punishing defenses (turnovers are high but he doesnt get credit for the hockey assists) & Randles defense & effort has improved greatly! WATCH OUT FOR RANDLE & THE KNICKS THIS POSTSEASON! Also shoutout to OG Anunoby the perfect front court partner for Julius.

I don't think there's any all-star player who has gotten less respect from Knicks fans in my decades of fandom than Julius Randle. The man has done more far more for the Knicks in 4 seasons than Melo did in his 6.5 seasons, and yet so many Knick fans still try to find any reason to hate, 90% of said reasons being entirely false (namely the "locker room cancer" one, which everyone debunked, especially Immanuel Quickley, who credited Randle by name in his Knicks goodbye letter). Great video.

Randle has had 2 playoff runs in his whole career .. the one vs hawks, he was inexperienced and was the only playmaker/shot-creator/initiator of offense .. that’s usually a bad combo The 2nd playoff run, had bad ankle injury right before playoffs,, came back too early cause he wanted to help, but got re-injured and ended up getting ankle surgery after playoffs ended . 3rd times a charm (2023/2024). This should be his playoff breakout … he’s playing a lot better , maybe the most efficient in his career (I’m ignoring the 1st 6 games cause he was just coming off the surgery/rehab) , and has efficient help in Brunson and Anunoby

You should do this often, now that you've solidified yourself as a game analyst with your first analysis video. You're on point, and, not much of a Knicks follower, but I've always wondered why people in the media blame him even though he has been balling and changed his play style for the sake of the team. W video. Yeah, watching this video like after 3 months of you posting it, but, great videos will get recognition, even though it'll take time. As a guy who's trying to be an analyst myself, I approve this as one of the best analysis I've ever seen on KZbin.

Great vid! Always annoys me how my fellow Knicks fans always want to get rid of people who give their heart and soul to the team. This guy takes a pay cut and plays hurt. Granted he's not the perfect player but who is? This is a legit 20-10 guy almost every night. A 2nd team ALL NBA player TWICE already. And some Knicks fans want to get rid of him? Yea same dumb Knicks fans who wanted Patrick Ewing to leave after he gave everything to HIS team. Those Knicks fans never appreciate what they have until it's gone..

This was such a great video- perfectly encapsulated the growth and depth to Randle's career and the misconceptions around him. The team for so long has been criticized and Randle is almost always thrown to the wolves, but rarely does he get grace. The guy worked his ass off and has changed so many facets of his game each season; like with this season alone his playmaking has improved drastically and has become reliable with the free throws (ignore the Magic game yesterday lol). Brunson was what we needed absolutely but the team has the luxury of them as a tandem. Considering their health, they are one of the best duos in the league and as robbed as JB was for an all-star spot last season, there was a reason Julius ran with it and the all-NBA spot, you just couldn't deny his stats. The guy had damn near 20 games consecutively scoring 20+ ppg this season, and is in the top points overrall this year with MVP candidates. You can't deny when he plays well it impacts the team, and the impacts translates to wins which takes us to the playoffs. Which makes me laugh cause you can't think of another fanbase whose star has a great game and you see comments asking for him to be traded immediately after. I agree that he's due for a consistent, dominant playoff run, with great health- cause if that happens then a lot of these criticisms can FINALLY be put to bed.

I won't lie....I was UPSET at the beginning of the video lol. I've been on Knick twitter and everything you said echoed that. The issues with Julius were everything you said. The perception of him being a bad teammate when most signs point to the contrary. He is one of the few players in the last 20 seasons that WANT to be in NY and play for the Knicks. He cares and, in my opinion, the mistakes and pouting a couple of seasons ago were signs of a player that was putting too much pressure on himself. He was pressing instead of letting the game come to him. It also didin't help that he was out there by himself most nights and the offensive inefficiency of the team only served to be more "evidence" to what the detractors of Randle were saying. Brunson has been the best signing we've made in a long time and it's unfortunate that, in my opinion, the meniscus injury that RJ was diagnosed with to start this season has stunted his develpment as a player a bit. It got him traded along with IQ. On the bright side, OG is absolutely what this team needed and the emergence of DiVincenzo as not just a solid floor stabalizer but also a big time clutch shot maker. I think the Knicks can make it to the ECF. Not sure if there is another move we can make in trades. I hope that when Mitch Robinson comes back, he can do so with enough time that he gets into decent enough shape to be effective. iHart has absolutely earned everything he'll get this offseason and he deserves to keep his minutes in rotation this season. IF we can get another big guard or wing defender, we have a chance to beat any of the top teams in the league in a 7 game series. Let's Go Knicks.

I’m a Randle hater and I’m not going to deny that. He always plays terrible in big games, plays selfishly, and gives 0 effort on some nights just lounging around up and down the court yet yells at his teammates. Do i agree he helped make our franchise relevant? Of course but other guys helped like the 3 young dudes who got traded out this year. I hope he finally figures it out in the playoffs but until then I ain’t falling for this newest version of him and my personal attitude is he won’t ever be good enough for us to win it all. While I understand the reason why you're saying he's not the problem comma I think that this style of play won't help the team get farther than the second round. Teams like miami swarm ball handlers while also keeping shooters at bay, So the biggest issue isn't that he'll be better, But rather He's going to hit a wall regardless of how well he plays because of who and how he plays. So in a sense, it's not just julius randall that's the problem, it's their players

I actually started the production of this back in early November, since it's my first real KZbin video though it took a WHILE to get everything right. Moving forward I'm hoping to get my stuff out much more efficiently so narratives can't change by the time it drops.

Whether Randle finishes his career here or NY he’ll have me as a fan. Dude no one has no idea how heavy the pressure is in NY and he was one of first ones take NY back to the playoffs after 2013. Then come up short and still not run from the smoke.

I agree with a lot of this!!!! Randle isn't given enough credit for the turnaround... The lows are highlighted waaaay more. Attitude and effort lapse at times... But overall he's been beyond a value

My recommendation would be to title the parts of the video in the description. Otherwise love the content !

Damn got the emotional music in the back n everything. Never rooted for Julius and didn’t start watching Knicks until Jalen left us from the Mavs :,) but never saw it like that. Respect to Julius honestly making me want to root for dude. To remold your play style again, and again cannot be easy.

He needs to be traded or be a power forward and stop handling the ball so much. Stay down low and get rebounds. Fire thibs and get a coach that will have Randle be a power forward and not a point guard
