As featured on an episode of CSI: New York; it was in the background prominently in two exterior shots... Beautiful at night also. Beats the hell outta the saran wrap Cristo put in Central Park! You can tell the locals' comments, so grouchy and acerbic!

Olafur Eliasson's Brooklyn Bridge waterfall I miss; hell I drove the BQE just to sightsee one more time. Cristo's rags scattered in Central Park; nope, sorry, don't care to remember that schlock.

oh and while i do have qualms over the amount it took to make this piece of art, i think the tradeoff is worth it for the city; its going to generate app. $55 million in economic activity...and no its not ugly...you have to see it up front to really get the feeling of awe...

It is intended to attract tourist. Which will in turn bring in more money. Looks cool also.

It cost that much? Some scaffold and some water pumps. I doubt it.

do I have to rent a boat? In the summer who wants to be in nyc? Those subway plataforms need fans, at least for two months...that is where the millions should have gone. The tourist would totally agree with me. At least in the waiting front spaces of the stations? Have any of you artist lovers taken the e train on 59streeet? or the e train (queens bound) on 53rd and 5th?

Hmm, i think it is pretty stupid and doesn't make any sense. If the artist would have paid it from his own money it would be ok, but 10 million $, money from the citizens, is a bit weird. Stupid avantgardist artists. Stupid politicians.
