It’s such a lovely place. The staff, building, restaurant, and the rooms.

@@travelswithtravis0117 I disagreed with you though regarding the showers. It was absolutely magical. I’m hoping that someone gives me another night there.

Stayed here in September 2001 just after 9/11. Great location, right in the centre of everything. I am due back this October, can't wait!

I’m pretty sure the subway in NY is 24/7! The NY’ER hotel is a great location! Have fun!

btw, the virgin atlantic has those views that you want for way less than 1500. good review. you give a lot of info though not a lot of video of the public spaces like the restaurants. still, it seems to be worth staying at the new yorker in a basic/standard room as long as one doesn't have to have that million dollar city view or as you say perhaps one can pay more and have that view even at the new yorker. especially good if you come to ny on amtrak and you plan to go to hudson yards as well as visit the high line.

I wanted to film more of the inside but I loaded my schedule with videos and photography to the point where I was so tired at the end of the day it’s a miracle I got what I did lol. I spent 97% of my day away from the hotel. But I booked for the historic value and location and enjoyed it!

you did good either way and I would stay there for the same reasons that you did. as cool as the city views are from the Virgin Atlantic, I'm sure that the New Yorker's are just as cool from the east or south facing rooms , sounds like you had one of those vacations that you need a vacation from when you get back home take care. @@travelswithtravis0117
