Exactly! I'm a Pole myself and can attest. It is a very old tradition to greet each other by a quick kiss on the lips. It was always a strong sign of acceptance and affection. Now it is usually done between women and girls or toddlers of both genders. It is usually done when people are very excited, like when they didn't see each other for a long time or on wedding for example when welcoming new member of the family. It can be also more casual (but very grand in the moment 😆) when alkohol is involved. When Poles drink we become very affectionate and emotional towards each other 😆

On the topic of consent being nowhere in sight in these movies, Laura seems to get angry with someone she’s in a relationship with if they don’t want to have sex with her/give her attention when she wants it. Happened with her ex in the first movie, and all three movies, if Massimo was not in the mood or doing business, she would either do something to make him give her attention/sex (play in the fountain, interrupt his meetings, etc.) or hold a grudge against him/accuse him of not caring about her (the ball, recovering in bed). Not to say Massimo is a good guy being unfairly targeted (kidnapping, SA, domestic abuse), but consent demands respect of one’s decision, and Laura doesn’t seem to change in that aspect even with a new guy who like Nacho

When it's shown that Nacho is into surfing, I was made breathless--A CHARACTER SHOWN TO HAVE A HOBBY!? My god, I'd given up on seeing such a thing so long ago. Laura's anger and belief that her marriage was in trouble was confusing to me. Because he'd kidnapped her and made her a prisoner? Can't be that, because we already established that she doesn't care about that. Freedom to do things? We have seen so many scenes of her and Olga going out for drives, spa dates, restaurant meals, clubbing, and the most we tend to see is a burly bodyguard nearby. He never said you can't work, either, and gifted you that fashion company that I'm SURE you're qualified to run. Seeing Massimo cheat on her with his ex was what started her escape with Nacho, expect we know that that wasn't Massimo, and she learns that, too. Angry for not telling her he has an (identical) twin brother? Sure, I guess, but is that enough to want to leave your marriage? You haven't even talked about his mother, barely touched on his father, but never once are those subjects brought up and examined in detail. Because of losing the baby? Hard to believe, since at the beginning of the second movie, she's all smiles and no panties as she gets married. Being in the mafia life? We see so little of that part, though; it's barely even in the background. The bodyguard presence might seem a bit stifling at times, but she and Olga seem to have no problem having fun regardless, and they DID help by taking Olga back to her hotel room when she was wasted (even if the only thing missing in that scene was Benny Hill music). What a thankless job Olga has being Laura's BFF, by the way--always left worrying because Laura constantly takes off without notice and doesn't let her know what's going on only until after shit has hit the fan. Maybe it's all of these things? Who can say, because these characters never talk about things that are actually relevant to a plot or characterization.

I was horrified to find out there's another movie but hey, having Laura cultivate a relationship with actual depth with someone new and leaving her abusive kidnapper might be the save this trash series needed. Kinda like if Bella chose Jacob and realized she doesn't have to be moody and gloomy with Edward for all eternity (assuming of course they didn't ruin Jacob's character like they had)
@bigbearkat20102 жыл бұрын
It's funny you should say that because my assumption was they would course correct on Nacho and make him a whiny entitled nice guy like they did with Jacob because that would've been easier than making Massimo in any way appealing

@@Hexgirl239 I agree. But it seemed like Massimo’s brother intercepted Nacho’s security guards and took Laura. I don’t think Nacho would willingly hand her over him.
