You can tell that this game is supposed to be more of a CoD styled hero shooter than just being flat out CoD. Like you've said, it's a better game when it's centered around team based objective gameplay, considering that the character abilities were built around that gameplay style to begin with.

Man, Spies and Mercs in Double Agent. The cluttered feeling of being a Merc while the spies are dancing around your group hacking the terminals. Then a spy grabs you, talks a little shit with the proximity mic, and then breaks your neck. Amazing game.

I felt the same way about Valorant. CS2 Overwatch. But the more I played XDefiant the more I realized I just needed to be smarter on how I play like in Valorant. A lot of people tried playing close and it doesn’t work. You gotta distance yourself when it comes to certain points or maps or players characters. Also gunfight movement has a higher skill ceiling than cod which is awesome. I just wish there was more to the maps like cool movement places to get a better sight line and stuff.

I think Black Ops 3 was peak boosters. But BO4 I appreciated it more and more I played it but it’s still one of my least favorite cods. BO2 was pure perfection and I think XDefiant is just BO3 without jetpacks.

I see all the hate abt this game and i personally dnt get it. Does it feel like old cod yes (bc the main dev is the guy that made mw3 and ghosts) but it also implements modern gaming into it. Imma try to explain this without going into too much depth LOL. so, they had to change the Net-Code cuz it was dog butt. so, they coded an entire new net code. and that was the net code you played in the last beta, and you noticed it was still bad. so, with the old net code it was bad but tuned to perfection. this new Net-Code is good but hasn't been Tuned. if that makes sense. so, by release it should be good and fluent. if not by release, then soon after it.

I can't see this game not popping off. It's free, it looks enjoyable to play and watch, a lot of CoD guys have grown to resent the franchise and will play this thing just to spite it. It doesn't require 100+ GB of storage (that I know of), it has some unique game features (abilities?), it seems better optimized than Cod so you don't need a high end PC to play it and did i mention *its free*
