Man this really made me feel so much better!! I watch you guys just to study and get better with my own videos and my niece is just encouragement and motivation to uplift people who are struggling in life in general. Sometimes the numbers can be very discouraging because I want everyone to be encouraged and to reach people for the good 😊 I was recently battling with stage, one lung cancer, and then a few weeks ago. It came out in my CT scan that it was gone completely but what kept me going during that time was making KZbin videos to encourage people who were not just going through what I was going through, but People who are just struggling and making those videos really kept me out of depression!! And you guys at Think Media really helped me get better at the quality of my videos as I studied and just applied myself and I'm very grateful for you guys !!!

Amazing video, and I wish we had this before I started my channel... It would have saved me so much time I used on trial-and-error. But I guess it's never too late to learn and improve as content creator (Lately I have also discovered that using a bit of Famester helps massively for growing up your channel. Hello from Argentina!! 6:48 I think that pushing algorithmically from up to down the content that people should watch instead that the people watching what they want and they change the algorithm with their preferences (down to up) is an imposition against the liberty of expression (you call it freedom of speech) where people should freely decide what they want to watch ot read and not imposed by an oligarchy aligned with the governments. I am micro influencer. I do shorts which never do very well. I also do long form content. My channel had a massive spike half a year ago and then it plummeted down and still doesn’t pick up so I hope soon it will get back up as it felt good to be at the top!

What's your perspective on short->long form view conversion? The trend is to do all formats, but a lot of folks (large and small) see two very different audiences across formats, which could ultimately hurt channels by diluting viewership.

I second the whole "raw" approach. Last May, I was at 2,035 subscribers. I just take my Google Pixel 6 phone and record my drawings. Now I have 51,600 subs and I don't do anything fancy equipment-wise. That all happened in just ten months.

Great video, lots of value. 🙏 I am a nano creator and want to go full-time on KZbin. I just find it tough in my industry (fitness) as it’s oversaturated, but I am working extra hard to build my brand and personally connect with my audience by responding to every single comment and asking questions in my community feed. I also ask my followers what they need help with and then produce videos they find useful to them. That personal and authentic relationship is so important. When I post in the comments of a popular KZbinr and they reply, I’m more likely to come back as I feel part of their community. We need to make sure we keep these personal connections. Like you said, I’d rather have less views but a strong community of followers than millions of views with no community or brand-building relationships.

I didn't even know what subscribers were until I already had 145 on my main channel. So I never got into the habit of asking people to subscribe and I still don't do that today. They know where the Subscribe Button is: it's up to them if they press it or not.

Music to my ears as I am a small creator learning the ropes coming back to it from the 1080p days, having to learn so much new about the platform the editing software and the cameras. The problem with yt shorts is that the user who is watching a short is not the same who is watching a long form video. Me for example I like to watch some anime clips but I never watch long form content about anime, so if they show me a long video about anime I will ignore it probably, I don't want to spend 10 minutes in that type of content.
