Now I’m not complaining because I’m just glad that we have become a team and organization that actually puts together cinematic like this, and I wish we did even more of them. That being said, this one was not as good as the other ones, and not as good as it could have been given the difficulty of the stretch that we had, compounded with the would-be overwhelming, downright collapsing(for most teams)injuries we endured. The amount of people that stepped up, Albert Suarez is my Orioles MVP of the first half. What he did was nothing short of a miracle. We had FOUR of our starting pitchers go down and one of our best relievers in Bradish, Means, Wells, Kremer and Coulombe, and Albert Suarez steps up and before his last two starts pitched to a near 2 flat ERA giving us pretty much 5 or 6 innings every time out. Everyone talks about how consistent Burnesy was, and no doubt he was absolutely incredible, could not have hoped for anything better, but Albert Suarez did not make this pitching staff out of spring training. He started his 2024 season in Norfolk, and was pitching on the other side of the planet last year. The Orioles are ABSOLUTELY not a first place team going into the second half right without Albert Suarez. If he keeps this up through the second half or anywhere close to his first half, if he isn’t the comeback player of the year it would be absolutely criminal. And I’m not trying to downplay or ignore any of the other guys that stepped up huge for us this first half, but Albert Suarez was a straight up miracle. I wish I had put $100 on his probabilities for innings pitched, era, KOs, everything. I’d be a fkin millionaire.

I just like to add that pitching is devastated everywhere. It's not like it's an outlier. It's a problem everywhere.

It would be a fun WS if the Phillies and O's play each other...that series in June was crazy...a shame the Phillies were not playing their best then and I'd give the Phillies a bit of an edge with deeper pitching (as of today) for a postseason series. But, we'll have to wait and see. Just glad both our fan bases have something to cheer for...we both know all too well the seasons we didn't.

So since the Tommy John surgery has become so successful, and the speed some guys are throwing now, will they start doing it as a precautionary type of thing? Like the end of senior year of high school or whenever a team drafts a high velocity/spin pitcher?

I'm starting to wonder if our great June through the gauntlet of tough teams drained the team and that's why we are disappointing in July so far. Also worried that our offense is too HR dependent. Still, great to be in 1st at the All-Star break. The O's needed that break.

Making fun of the way a person pronounces a word is really high tier behavior. You can’t argue with what they stand for, so you make fun of how they look or talk. Real mature, my guy!
