I think this is a very positive direction for Linear, and I think a lot of these new features are great, because they hint at a future where projects are much better vehicles for taking an opportunity from early idea, through discovery and all they way to delivered and deployed. Sidenote: It's a departure from your "old" Linear manifesto - of keeping product (discovery) work outside the tool - and I like it! As an empowered product squad, the whole team (devs included) cares about opportunities and how to work with them way earlier than just when the "project" is ready to be defined in developer delivery tasks. Discovery and delivery are interdependent - a continuous back and forth - and it does not make a ton of sense of having to track the discovery work/tasks somewhere else, and force the team to look multiple places to understand the full scope of the opportunity/project they are working on. But i digress :) One thing (among others) I would absolutely love to get added is labels for projects. As a (slightly) larger product organisation operating within Linear, having the ability to understand our projects in a much more granular way is essential. Providing labels with strong filter options, and the ability to save views, would be a great first step to grant us the power of building out the contexts we need to make sense of what oppotunities we have, how they tie into company objectives, how we should priorities them, and what state they are currently in. But overall, it seems you are on to something great, so I will await with excitement to see what comes next

What does Linear recommend you use to centralise ideas/requests? Trying to decide between adding each idea as a new Project with an 'Idea' status vs what it looks like you've done here which is to add each idea as a new Issue within a catch-all Project.

Curious to hear how you manage different workflows in a project now that it looks to be supporting more than just engineering teams. For example, lets say we have an issue that gets assigned to the marketing team to create a social post about the new feature, the marketing team moves their issues through multiple design and review stages, that an engineering oriented issue may not. Do you consider these 2 teams with 2 workflows that operate out of 1 project and based off of which team the issue is assigned to would determine the workflow?

You can add multiple teams to the same one project, so that it will show each teams related issues, and the overall project so everyone's on the same page. The project details pane will allow to quick filter to specific teams also.

That's Awesome! Thanks for the update. 🙏 A bit off-topic, but what I am missing is the ability to create Custom Types (like "Websites", and "Clients") and be able to add custom fields to those (including relationships, so I can link "Websites" to "Clients" in my example). Then I will be able to store separate data for my PM and attach custom fields to my issues.

Now that there is a great way to create "docs" in Linear, that the PM part is already awesome, the next missing part to me is "data" (with custom types, fields and relationships). Then, the ultimate one will be automations / workflows (Jira does that really well). Hopefully, those dreams will come true someday.

Documents outside of projects is on our list to look at. But for now, it's best to use the tools designed for having internal Wikis.

How do we configure the Intercom integration to show linked Intercom issues in the Linear issue activity?

The Intercom integration automatically adds them as attachment links if you create an issue from Intercom, or link from Intercom. Otherwise you can add them by hitting CTRL+L in an issue and pasting the Intercom conversation URL.

Yes it's possible. In Linear, go to preferences, choose your team in the bottom left, and workflow. From here you can customize all the steps, add and remove ones.

Been a Linear Pro user for some time now and loving it with my team. This is super specific but any way to sync Microsoft Planer Tasks or how should one operate if a company uses both for project management?

That one hasn't come up much yet, so no set plans to integrate with it so far - but we'll keep it in mind!

We have some minimal AI features such as AI help answers, or detecting duplicate tickets. The Slack integration can generate AI titles for your issues also.
