I’m losing a lot of faith in Bioware especially since Dragon Age Veilguard, it’s an impossible standard to reach considering the emotional history and popularity of the Mass Effect Trilogy. It’s hard to match but I sincerely hope we get something close, not even just a love letter to mass effect, a new Shepard story that inspires new ideas with the characters and world.

One that is started as a Paragon but became Renegade after being betrayed by the Alliance, council, the media, and some of his/her teammates? I can't see the alternate being "our Shepard" because it wouldn't be an alternate universe because it matches the players' choices UNLESS ME5 is the one in the Alternate universe?....

My only issue with this Many Worlds theory is that Shepard has a direct impact on the outcome of the Reaper War. If Shepard doesn’t make it to Mars Archives to find the crucible data, the galaxy is doomed, since Illusive Man didn’t recover Shepard. Why would Liara deny another universe their Shepard, for her own selfish motives and doom them to be wiped out? Plus, why would there be dead Reapers on Alchera if she grabbed a Shepard that died before the events of ME3? I honestly think the segment with the Shepard AI has a few lines of dialogue that have been removed, because you see the figure in the trench coat nod their head when they turn, as if someone is speaking to them before they leave the hangar.

So this theory, neither Shep is our Shepard. One is an amaligmation of data and the other is literally a different reality with only the meomeories of ME1. Assuming that everything played out the same in that universe as our "cannon" universe. All the relationship building of 2 and 3 wouldn't exist for this Shepard. They're literally a fish out of water. AI Shep would be dispationate at best being just data recorded while Shep was wearing their armor. Hard to encode the emotional elements and relationship meaning in that. I kinda like the theory but I really hope its wrong.

Shepard was remade in me2 and there was multiple attempts. So the possibility of more shepards hiding around the universe is easier to explain than a multiverse. Plus our Shepard went definitely dead and again because of the rebuild won’t age like a normal human.

@@americancapitalist9094with the ending of ME3 it’s more of a problem because it’s the only one where 1 choice isn’t a landslide for the rest of the community like 96% cured the genophage so if they’d take a canon event regarding Priority: Tuchanka it’d be that it’s cured and 80% chose peace between geth and quarians so if they’d take a canon event from Priority: Rannoch it’d be peace but Priority: Earth had 45% choosing destroy and while it is technically the most taken it’s still less than half of the entire community

My issue with all those theories is that it has been done before. With Shepard clone and in general the ME2 Lazarus project where they resurrected Shepard. Now to turn Shepard into an AI, I can agree it is the same but different. Thinking now how the timeline of the trailers play out, what I wouldn't want is Liara finds Shepard, later on turns into "Evil" AI and through wormhole travel Ryder come back from Andromeda to stop Shepard

Hello Paragon7. I discovered your channel a while ago, and even though I haven't had time to watch all your videos yet, I can already say that I really like what you do. You may have already considered this possibility, but during last (sleepless) night I said to myself: if it's possible, the Abyss Relay that allowed the Reapers to reach the Milky Way via the Citadel could allow anybody to reach the Andromeda galaxy more quickly. That would explain why humans are building a mass relay... And if the Conduit had been taken aboard the Nexus or the Hyperion, then anything would be possible. After all, when Shepard sends his signal across the galaxy at the end of Mass Effect 3, it's from the Citadel itself, powered by the Crucible. As for the Conduit, we don't know where it's been since the end of the first Mass Effect ... (please excuse me if i didn't use the right words, i used DeepL 😅)

@@amandanichole8648 So are you fine with they treating Shepard as the Master Chief of Mass Effect, where you will sit here for right now, saying you want Shepard but after a while you will get tired of always playing as Shepard and will want new stories with new characters to play as, and Bioware would in theory say but you wanted Shepard and now your complaining because we gave you what you wanted. Shepard's story ended with Mass Effect 3. The only way I would ever consider a Shepard return is if everything we did after Eden Prime to our choice at the end of ME3 all happened during those 15 hours Shepard was unconscious for where it was like a premonition, of things to come if we don't prepare. I know that would basically be us replaying all of ME1-3 but now with the ability to know where Saren is going and get there before he even gets there and everyone thinks Shepard is insane but the Normandy crew along with Anderson and Hackett keeps it secret because everything Shepard is saying is coming true.

I think there is no AI or AU Shepard at all. Its just Liara wearing N7 style suit & doing some operations on her own. Meanwhile she is trying to present herself as Shepard with modified voice but she never show her face. Also Liara has a team, probably she trains some agents to do operations the same way. Being in this suit is like being a Batman, under the mask it might be anyone. That's why "What is a person" is a valid question.

Sorry, but it really doesn't make sense. If they want Shepard back (I do!) they should canonize perfect destroy ending. If your Shepard dies at the end of ME 2 they still appear at ME 3 so I don't see a big problem here. I don't believe that BioWare will make separate games for those who choose destroy, and those that did not, especially taking into consideration how simplified choices in Veilguard were.

I just finished the trilogy for the first time and am currently playing MEA, but I had a very farfetched theory that I never saw anyone consider, and it ties along with the traveling through wormhole/time traveling theory. What if at the end of ME3 during the destroy ending, the energy wave that was released shot the Normandy into either the future to andromeda or into an alternate timeline which could explain why there's a possibility that Liara is with someone who looks like Ryder. At the very end of ME3 when you see Joker land in a forest it looks oddly familiar to some landscape from Andromeda

AU doesn't need to be a part of the new game for there to be two Shepards. As they have already shown a Shepard clone and that may even be what Liara was doing. She could be on Alchera to see if she could find any DNA from Shepard for the creation of another clone.

This is something I was pondering too which would give a sound reason for the endings because if you picked any of the 3 endings even the normal destroy you end up as the AI Shepard but if you ended up choosing the destroy ending where Shepard lives you are still a person. It's unclear what the pulse from the crucible did but one theory I have is that it basically did an indoctrination pulse on the reapers seeming that indoctrination is a signal but to put that aside the other theories I have is that the pulse particles allowed for dimensions to kind of bleed into one another especially if things happen similarly in each reality with infinite possibilities leading up to some main events and one being the pulse from the crucible. The other theory is that the pulse ended up having a relay collapse into a black hole bridging realities but I highly doubt that one.

I truly believe it's both Shepard and Alex Ryder in Ai form which causes a major malfunction because their would be 2 personalities fighting each other which could cause the rogue Ai to turn evil which would mean Shepard and Ryder have to return to help our character take down this rogue ai because they would know how the ai thinks and reacts so it's possible we may also see the Normandy and Shepard allies along with the tempest and Ryders allies back in action to stop the rogue Ai from controlling the multiple universes which would be very interesting if Bioware does that idea I do love the worm hole travel idea but that would only work if the guardians where invovled because protecting space time and keeping the multiple universes events intact would be their mission they would also work in secret so they answer to no one because they are black ops so they don't exist and can't be found

I believe the "original" would be based upon the choices you made at the end of ME3 (if you played through and have a profile to upload). If you chose "synthesis", it would make sense for Shepherd to break free as an "unshackled AI". After all, it's just his/her style, is it not? And if you chose to destroy the machines you'd have the human form of Shepherd, albeit potentially "changed" due to his/her own synthetic programming going haywire during the Crucible event. That's my theory anyway!

Looking at games recently released, I'm not sure this will surpass Andromeda. I hope it does. The second shepherd could have been stuck in transition or even split due to some space time magic. Some unknown particle enters the element zero during the mass reduction causing Shepard to be stuck in between mass relays until a special relay is built. Just speculation.

Here's an idea, and this could be a stretch here. What if the Cloned Shepard from the Citadel DLC actually survived? Shepard is a survivor, you said as much yourself. Shepard's clone is more or less the same as Shepard, albeit brainwashed. I know this is fun speculation, but the two-shepard idea kinda loses its appeal after doing it in the Citadel-DLC the first time. And why be so reliant on Shepard? The idea of Shepard was great because ME1, regardless of the origin you choose- Shepard was an unknown/Anomaly with some repute. But it was the player’s choices that defined him. Can’t we do the same with a new character? Personally that would be an even greater journey: a new hero, from humble origins, who now has to step up and fill the Galaxy-sized shoes of the Legend that is Shepard. Living up to your OWN legend in a new game, a legend that you yourself created? That’s an underdog tale I like to see.

@ I think that’s a problem being it was an entirely different studio making Andromeda. Or at least different writers. I still think they can pull off a new Hero. MassEffect being reliant on Shepard means there’s shouldn’t be anymore games since technically his/her arc is completed lol

Why wouldn't you be able to? Bioware always lets you choose your gender. Mark Meers says he's not involved but he might have signed an NDA and is lying. Actors do it all the time.

Methinks *neither* is the original. The AI is a (potentially corrupted or hijacked) copy, while the AU Shepard is pulled in because the OG Shepard is either dead or too damaged (mentally or physically) to go around saving the galaxy. This would let players with a Perfect Destroy or Happy Ending save, talk to their old Shepard and compare notes, *and* carry on their old save's ending/romance, without impacting the plot *too* heavily with OG Shepard's presence.

Hey, perhaps my theory is not justified and seems nonsense, but I noticed one interesting and small detail in the legendary edition. I don't remember if this detail was in the original game in 2012, but the stars have increased in size in Mass Effect 3. Even Anadius star has become larger in ME3 than ME2 That means a supernova explosion in the near future. This exactly coincides with Karpishin’s scenario and the merged concepts of the new game. Maybe I'm going crazy, but it doesn't seem like a coincidence.

I could see this happening. We know the Reapers had alot of interest in Shep from how bad the Collectors tried to get him from pre ME2 and later. They probably had alot of detailed data on him and could likely get closer to a true personality.

Wouldn’t it make more sense if multiple universe theory would just take an account for the different ending choices? And if there was one of those universes that would be an AI Shepherd, it would probably be the synthesis ending and his consciousness is transferred into it or something, I think you’re giving bio ware too much credit with this theory although it is Interesting 😂

This videos really hel0p to understand what probably is going to happen in the next game, but don't respond the biggest question "What happen with our Sheppard?", because if the indocrination theory is right (and i hope so that it is), we have so much to see before the next game. I really like the idea of the hero been manipulated in the scenario of Mass effect 3, and are so many proves that this is really going on between the games and just blowing on the ME3 final moments. In the end, will say that i prefer the perfect ending with Sheppard alive and kicking, just to see ( or play) the definitive ending of the reaper war and jump to the new game in fact.
