Interesting theory. In the green synthesis ending, the answer would be obvious: AI Shepard is Shepard, containing both Shepard's memories and Shepard's life force. If you did a different ending, then AI Shepard is maybe not Shepard, lacking that distinctive spark. As for AU Shepard, that's not OUR Shepard. That's someone who made different choices and maybe has an entirely different philosophy. Genetic similarity is not enough.

Hello Paragon7. I discovered your channel a while ago, and even though I haven't had time to watch all your videos yet, I can already say that I really like what you do. You may have already considered this possibility, but during last (sleepless) night I said to myself: if it's possible, the Abyss Relay that allowed the Reapers to reach the Milky Way via the Citadel could allow anybody to reach the Andromeda galaxy more quickly. That would explain why humans are building a mass relay... And if the Conduit had been taken aboard the Nexus or the Hyperion, then anything would be possible. After all, when Shepard sends his signal across the galaxy at the end of Mass Effect 3, it's from the Citadel itself, powered by the Crucible. As for the Conduit, we don't know where it's been since the end of the first Mass Effect ... (please excuse me if i didn't use the right words, i used DeepL 😅)

Its also extremely possible that if the alternate theory is real the AI ified version of your shepard is the villian.

It makes sense for two shepherds because it was revealed that shepherd wasn’t the only one that was made and if there are different dimensions that we are gonna be exploring then it would make sense to probably encounter other versions of shepherd maybe even more than one in a dimension which is why your ai theory makes no sense why make a ai when there were clones and sense you might be able to explore other dimensions where your choices there are different shepherd would most likely be a clone, alive, or dead.

In the Control ending Shepard's conscious still exist and can theoretically be copied. Maybe they can do something with it? Like inserting this conscious into a mobile platform, without any reincarnation in that case?

All those fumbled endings in ME3 just because the studio wanted the game squeezed out in time for Christmas. Utterly criminal.

unless they are going crazy with literally 3 different games for each ending they have no choice to canonize an ending and explain worlds that exist with the other endings as alternate timelines. The galaxy after each ending is just too different and everything in the spoilers point to perfect destroy being the cannon ending

don't the assari live 1500 years sort of thing? All you see is a turian. It could be a rando turian or some decendant of garrus. Theres also a solarian there and the only one we had anything to do with died giving the krogan fertility. All that trailer does is show that a turian and a solarian are probably going to be central to the story. Maybe they found a wormhole to the andromeda galaxy and this is biowares attempt to fix andromeda's failure. If this story has anything to do with the arks leaving before ME3 then none of the characters from the previous games can be in this one if it takes place after the reaper war without completely breaking ME3 since they were all at the end of ME3 after the arks left.

I actually do want Shepard to come back as protagonist so bad. To me Mass Effect will always be Shepard and the beloved companions. I did enjoy Andromeda okay enough, but it didn't feel like Mass Effect to me. I need my babies back 🥺 The teasing is starting to make me more uneasy than excited by now 😭

Also, it's possible Liara is seeking the AU Shepherd to return the "soul" of the AI Shepherd to its rightful place. Also, just a theory...but a compelling one depending on prior game choices.

I believe the "original" would be based upon the choices you made at the end of ME3 (if you played through and have a profile to upload). If you chose "synthesis", it would make sense for Shepherd to break free as an "unshackled AI". After all, it's just his/her style, is it not? And if you chose to destroy the machines you'd have the human form of Shepherd, albeit potentially "changed" due to his/her own synthetic programming going haywire during the Crucible event. That's my theory anyway!
